"I doubt a pan would be all that useful against a demon," he said with a shrug. "Besides, seems like you people have it under check."
"I doubt a pan would be all that useful against a demon," he said with a shrug. "Besides, seems like you people have it under check."
"A what?" Clarence did not look that surprised, despite her tone, "What can you do with a pan anyway?"
"I don't know about you but I've seen a lot of things done with a pan. A lot of them really shouldn't be retold, though." Kado gave them a hollow grin.
"It was a cast iron skillet, specifically," he explained. "A standard 12 inch cast iron skillet weighs over eight pounds. Ever been hit with an eight pound weight before?"
"Yes." Clarence deadpanned.
Arya glanced quickly at her
"Well, then you understand how it could be somewhat useful," he said. "In my hands, however, it becomes significantly less useful."
"And why would that be, if you don't mind answering?" Arya said.
"'Cause I am a dreadful fighter. Don't think I've ever won one in my life," he responded. "There's a reason why people call me Runner."
Clarence snorted, "Running is a useful skill, you know." she shook her head, "Never won a fight…I know someone who might be able to fix that, with his sheer dumb luck."
"Hey…do you think they'd even come up here if they're in the water? I don't know about you guys but where I'm from not even mermaids come out of the water."
Arya shrugged, "I don't know but we should be prepared in case they do."
Clarence stared intently at the rippling surface of the water, "I would not be surprised if they can. I have no idea where we are or where those things come from."
"No, the mermaids are purely water-locked," Runner said, "However, the demons and the siren can most definitely leave the water."
"I wonder if I could just electrify the water," Kado said, the lightning rippling up and down his sword becoming brighter.
"No." Arya said, "Please. We do not know if the material this platform is made out can conduct electricity."
Clarence shivered, "Being electrocuted is not fun"
"Eh it's true that it's not fun but I've learned to tolerate it." Rain says as she walks over. "How are you all fin evening?"
Clarence raised an eyebrow, "In my knowledge, this is neither "fine" nor an evening."
"It is called sarcasm my friend. I see that you are not fluent in it." I grin at him.
Arya grimaced, "How about you save that for later, and kill the fish demons now."
Soldatov strolls over. His pace is almost professional with the way he walks; like he’s someone of high command. Very alert, too. It’s hard to confirm whether or not he was there in the first place.
“Demons? Oh, I’ve dealt with them.” He calls out. His voice has an accent to it, not a strong one but still there. It sounds distinctly Eastern European.
Arya studies him carefully, "I'm glad someone else also have fighting experience"
The water is rippling below them, puddles of the dark liquid landing on the platform
"Anytime now." Clarence checked her knives
His hands were behind his back as he halted, peering down into the water. “I’ve got quite a bit of it, yes. What types of..creatures are we dealing with here?” Despite Soldatov’s preciously alert form as he walked before, he now seemed to be somewhat relaxed despite the current situation. Or maybe it was just the way he walked.
He seems to reach into his coat pocket, as if grabbing something.
Clarence leaned back lazily, "Fuck if I knew." she looked around, "Fish, I assume"
"I hate fishing," Kado moved to the centre of the island and sat down, placing his longsword, shortsword and two daggers beside him.
"I don't think it will be as simple as fishing." Arya commented, pointed toward the whirlpool forming near them
"Shit!" Clarence cursed
