Miguel glanced at Alexander before turning towards him, "Hey Alexander, what are you doing out here?" He asked.

“Taking a break from everyone before they play truth or dare or whatever it is Jared wants to do next,” he explained, taking a deep breath of fresh air. He was a bit tipsy. “You?”

"It was getting pretty loud and people have started to drink a lot by now…" Miguel responded with a sigh. He thought to himself for a few seconds, Now would be a great time to tell him…that I…like him…

Alexander laughed. "True," he agreed. "It also kind of smells like feet in there right now. You smell it too, right?"

Miguel smiled and nodded at Alexander before looking down nervously, "Alexander…um can I tell you something…?" He asked.

Alexander nodded, not quite catching the seriousness in his voice. “Yeah, of course,” he responded.

Miguel took a deep breath and looked back up at Alexander, "I…" He hesitated, clenching his fist, "I really like you…a lot."

“I like you a lot too!” Alexander agreed enthusiastically, giggling a bit. Miguel was one of his best friends, so of course Alexander liked him.

Miguel shook his head, a small frown crossing his face, "No, that's not what I meant…I mean…I mean i love you Alexander!" He finally burst out after struggling for a moment.

Alexander blinked. “Oh…” he said slowly. “Oh. You do?!” His face began to turn a bright red, even his ears. He was mostly surprised.

Miguel nodded and looked back down, he was nervous to see what happened next.

He realized that he felt…glad. And not just flattered. “I think…I like you a lot too,” he offered,

Miguel blushed, looking up, a small smile crossed his face, "Um, really…?" He asked.

“Yeah,” Alexander replied, smiling a little. He took a step closer. “I do.” He swallowed, suddenly nervous.

Miguels nerves came back, but he stepped forward as well, his heart pounding, "I-I'm glad."

“Do you maybe…want to go out sometime?” he asked nervously, biting his lip. Even though Miguel had been the one to admit that he liked Alexander, Alexander was still nervous that he might say no, which was stupid, of course.

Miguel's eyes widened as Alexander asked the question. He took a second to respond, still processing the question before answering, "Yes…I would love to."

“Awesome!” Alexander exclaimed. He smiled at Miguel, still blushing.

Miguel lightly giggled at Alexander's excitement, his face was also quite red, visible through his darker skin color.

“So, um, what now?” he asked awkwardly, running his hand through his hair. He didn’t want to do anything to mess this up.
