"I don't even wanna know how much more you can do," he said with a huff. Klaus glanced over at the corner of the room, frowning at the camera for a moment. The idea of constantly being watched freaked him out.

@ElderGod-Icefire

She laughed. "Mm. Well, that's what you get for being near a supersoldier." she smirked at him. She followed his gaze to the camera. "Oh. You get used to those. Don't worry, there aren't any in the bathrooms, and there shouldn't be any in your room." There are in mine…

"That's….good, I guess," he said, scratching the back of his head.
His voice got very quiet, probably to hide it from any hidden mics in the room. "I know you're hidin' somethin'. You've been actin' weird ever since that girl popped up an' said she knew shit about you."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Her eyes narrowed a little. "Yes. I am." she replied simply. "And it isn't important. At least…" she shook her head. If he knew I wasn't a person, what would change? She swallowed. "Just…it's nothing you need to worry about, alright?"

Klaus debated leaving it there, but ultimately pushed on. It wasn't something he was used to doing.
"Well….we're gonna be a team, ain't we? And from…from the limited experience I've had with teams, the best ones trust each other. Whatever it is, man, I don't give a shit. I'm not gonna go off telling everyone under the fuckin' sun. I'm the son of a serial killer, for fuck's sake. I don't get much worse than that."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay sighed softly, shaking her head. "I'm not a human. Not the same way you are. I was created in a lab, and I've grown up in SHIELD." she replied, voice distant, void of any emotion. She lifted her shirt and adjusted her pants, showing him the spot where she should have had a belly button. There was just a smooth expanse of skin. "Legally, I don't exist. I don't have the same rights as you, and I probably don't have a soul." She shook her head again, not meeting his eyes.

Deleted user

"Well…..I don't believe in souls and shit like that, so don't fret." He barely even looked shocked. "To be honest….I'd rather be you. I grew up in a really bad home."
It was his turn to lift up his shirt, exposing a jagged purple scar that rain from his armpit all the way down to his pant-line.
"Dad went a little haywire," he said, his face cringing as he remembered the situation.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay winced at the sight, catching her lower lip between her teeth for a moment. "Oh. Ouch. I'm sorry." she said softly. "That…" she shook her head. She held up her left hand after a moment. "To be fair, I lost these on a mission when I was 14. So." she shrugged. "But at least for me…it wasn't someone I knew. Or cared for."

He shrugged, lowering his shirt. "It's a….complicated relationship. He's apologized more times than I can count for it an' I forgive him. It's weird. He's this monster, yet he's also the guy who taught me how to walk an' how to speak. I've gave up on talkin' to him for years, but then Mom died, an' I had nowhere else to go."

@ElderGod-Icefire

She nodded. "Oh. I think…I sort of understand how that is." Not in the same way, of course. She didn't feel that way about a single person, but more of SHIELD in general. Some of them had hurt her, but others she remembered fondly. Some apologized for how they treated her, others…didn't. "I'm sorry you had to go through that."

Klaus shrugged again, scratching the top of his head. "It ain't as big of a deal as it was before. It jus' made me more determined to not be like 'em."

He gestured towards the exit. "Lead the way. I ain't got a clue how to find my room from here."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded, and headed for the door. She waited for him to leave before closing it, and leading him through the hallways. "You'll get an ID eventually." she said.

Deleted user

"I was kinda wondering about that," he admitted, slipping his hands into his pockets again. "I guess things have been movin' pretty fast, though."

@ElderGod-Icefire

She nodded. "Yeah. It might take a day or two or three, and you won't have very high clearance. Not for a while, anyway." she glanced at him, still walking.

Deleted user

"Better have enough clearance for the lunch room," he said, speeding up slightly to keep up with her.

Deleted user

(Hey, EmptyNebula, are we going to fast for you to keep up?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(gtg to bed. Good night!)

She laughed softly. "Oh you will, don't worry. And the gyms. And your room. And…" she shrugged. "I don't know what else."

Deleted user

"Huh. What else do they have here, anyways?" he asked, rubbing his hands together. He was already getting bored.

Teddy brushed some grime off his hands in the sink, scraping some blood out from under his nails. "Hmm, I suppose I must be getting another sitter for the boys…" He muttered, nodding his head and setting a reminder in his mind. The other sitter was a spy for another group, he had tried to kidnap Teddy's little brothers and that wouldn't stand.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(ooh maybe. I'm thinking for Ahren that he's going to like…pretend to be a good guy and infiltrate the group, only for it to turn out that he's a bad guy? So maybe he and your bad guy are working together, Ahren from the inside, yours from the outside?)

Deleted user

"Why don't we….go out for dinner? You know, to celebrate the new team comin' together?" he asked. It's only you two. It's basically a date. Why are you askin' this girl out on a date?

@ElderGod-Icefire

She blinked. "I…would have to ask permission." She replied slowly. "So…I don't know." She glanced at him, then away again. This is going to be hard. He's used to more freedom than he'll get here. And he'll have more than I do.
