"Eyyy, Nino," Belphegor greeted. "That was fast. Long time no see. Now we just need to wait for the last member of our lil band."
About 3 hours later, a sleek, low-profile black car pulled into the parking lot of the park, and a muscled man stepped out. His hair was slicked back with the perfect amount of gel, leaving it without any shine but still perfectly in place. Aggravating enough, his facial hair had grown back slightly from when he had shaved this morning, making him feel slightly unprofessional. Everything else about him, however, screamed smooth operator. His three piece suit had not a single dust particle on it, his shoes were freshly shined, and his face was all business as he walked over to the rest of the group.
"Finally," it said, sauntering over and breaking off conversation with the others. "Hello, hello, how ya hailin'? Haven't seen you in forever. Why don't you introduce yourself to your new friends? Or have you met?"
"Doubt it," Kaz said, eyeing up the other two. One was an angel. High up and old as hell, but still not as high as the big G. When he looked at the other demon, he had to refrain from scrunching up his nose. He'd fought countless others like that in his centuries on Earth.
"Name's Kaz," he said finally, giving them a nod.
Nino cringed at how stuck up this new angel was but grabbed the cursed angelic gold arrow she had on her necklace but managed to say three words "Hi I'm Nino"
(i based her necklace on one i have at home which i have yet to make on here hope you don't mind me adding it in)
"Chandra," she said was a bit of a disapproving nod. Well, this was going to be an interesting group…
"What are we here for?" Kaz asked, turning back to Belphegor. While he may not like the demon, he respected the fact that he was a good leader, so he chose to talk to it instead of the others.
(Sounds good Kionne! ^^)
Belphegor quickly explained the situation, with an emphasis on the effect it would have on humans.
"Can you imagine," it groaned. "the amount of paperwork it would cause if humans figured out reality isn't as simple as they thought it would be? It doesn't bear thinking about. No more gadding about on earth, no more hanging out in bars, tempting the innocent. Just miles of paperwork, for the rest of eternity."
"Oh come on, paperwork? Ga~h, I hate paperwork. Fine, you've drawn me in. What do we do then?" Chandra asked.
Belphegor grinned. "I wish I'd known it was that easy," it purred. "What I think we need to do is figure out what's causing this. My guess is either some sort of mechanic wearing out or something powerful purposefully screwing with stuff. We need to figure out what it is, then get the appropriate people to fix it, or fix it ourselves. Everybody agree?"
Kaz nodded slightly, crossing his arms over his chest. "If it's the mechanic, we're fucked. No way in Hell - or Heaven in that matter - we can fix that by ourselves."
"Who's the Mechanic?" she asked, curious. Chandra wasn't trying to act ignorant, she just was ignorant.
"Mechanics isn't a person," Kaz said with an eyeroll. "It's the forces that keeps this dimension from colliding with the others. If those go to shit, we are screwed."
"There are multiple dimensions?" Ugh, she really was so ignorant about all these matters. But then again, so were all the other angels.
"You roam in one of them, sweetheart." He kept his patience as best as he could. She wasn't the dumbest angel he'd ever met by a mile, so he was used to this type of stuff.
"Well, yeah, duh," she didn't like not knowing much. "But seriously, don't call me 'sweetheart.'"
"I can call you whatever I want. Your not up in Heaven no more, angel," he said, his eyes flashing dangerously.
"Ugh fine," Chandra rolled her eyes. Why did this person have to be so annoying?
"Hey, peace, friends." Belphegor said raising its hands. "We're all on the same team here. Kaz, be nice. Earth is neutral territory, so there's no reason to go picking on Chandra. Chandra, don't annoy Kaz with questions. Ask me."
It winked at the angel, linking arms with her and starting off.
(Hey! Just fyi, I'm going to be gone all this weekend. There's a chance I'll be on a little bit way late in the evenings, but I'd appreciate it if you guys waited for me ^^ Thanks!)
(Oki then!)
Chandra turned away, annoyed. "So what are we doing, then?"
(Okii, I'm back! ^^)
"We're running off to the wild, wild worlds unknown," Belphegor announced. It gave a dramatic flourish of it's hand. "Let's go, boys and girls and me! We've got plenty of sweet times to go, go, get to. Y'all ready?"
(Nice!)
"I-I guess…" Chandra twitched her wings, nervously. Her arms were still crossed, and her eyes were slightly narrowed.
(Four days without wi-fi or alone time sure gets you lost)
"Okay I spaced halfway through that and yes I said spaced because I know common language so please help a little demon out" Nino looked around flustered with herself for letting her mind run and elude the focus she wish she had, damn her problems from her mortal life
Kaz let loose a groan of disappointment, rubbing his face with both of his hands. "Of course I get the three most incompetent magical deities to work with. Tasked with saving the universe, none the less."
Nino ducked not out of fear but more of a cringe then retaliated "I AM NOT INCOMPETENT YOU'RE JUST STUCK UP!" looking away from the mortal being she turned to Belphegor "Can you please tell me what I missed I seemed to have lost my focus then my temper" a polite smile playing on her full lips
"If you truly thought that was the case you wouldn't have gotten that defensive." His voice was tight and restrained, but his eyes flashed that same dangerous look. "Don't catch lip with me, demon."
(He's a human…..)
(oops will fix that)
Nino shrugged off the mortal's words easier than she'd thought she could but not letting petty feelings in her way she looked steadfast at the only other demon, who was obviously a higher ranked demon than her, and hoping for a reply out of him
