Killian guided the hover board easily back inside her base, bringing it to a stop at her computer monitor. He gently set her down, then got off of it himself.

Killian nodded, and put it where she had said to. It began charging. He walked back over to her. "There. Now what?" He asked, cocking an eyebrow at her inquisitively.

Jade smiled at him as she relaxed into her chair. ”Well, while we were gone I had the computer continue to check the attackers’ against a couple of databases.” she said turning to the screen. ”Looks like it finally found a match for the shooter, at least.”

”Darren Cook.” Jade replied as she read the file. ”He's a sniper who was in the army for 10 years. Honorable discharge last year. Ouch! Injured in line of duty; percussion grenade blew out his right ear. Was diagnosed with slight PTSD and he lives on the other side of town from where I was attacked.” Her brow furrowed in concerned confusion.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Hm." he frowned a little. "Doesn't really sound like the type of guy who would attack a hero, but…maybe I'm wrong." he shrugged, examining the image and file carefully.

Jade nodded. ”I agree. This doesn't fit the usual type… unless the PTSD is triggered towards heroes or since you brought up the possibility; maybe he was paid for the hit?” she suggested frowning pensively.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian tipped his head slightly, still examining the information. "Yeah, I suppose those are possibilities…" he said slowly, trailing off. "I think paid for it is probably the most likely possibility, especially if he's strapped for cash."

Jade nodded before she started typing, looking into the financial records. ”Yeah, soldiers don't often get paid a whole lot after their service. But look at this; almost over two weeks ago, someone made a deposit of $12,000 into Cook’s account.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian nodded. "Bingo." he replied, leaning on the back of her chair as he looked at the files. "So. Shall we go interrogate him?" he cracked his knuckles, smirking slightly. "Or if you don't want to get your hands dirty, I'll do it."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Jade chuckled. ”No offense, Hex, but I don't think having a villain threaten answers out of someone is a good idea. I’ve interrogated people before. But this one will be tricky because of the circumstances of him shooting me.” she hummed in thought.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian grinned. "Well yeah, but…he might answer me better than you, since I'm a villain. And he didn't shoot me." he replied, looking down at her. "That's why I'm saying that I should do it."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Jade shook her head. ”I don't know about your reasoning behind ”the because you're a villain” part but…” she looked up at him and smirked. ”What if you didn't go as Hex and used a different ”costume”?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian shook his head. "Sometimes, to make people talk, you need to be a bit of a bully. I have…a reputation. Trust me. It'll be better if I do it, as Hex." He replied. Something dark flashed in his green eyes for a moment, then was gone again.

Jade tilted her head slightly at the look in his eyes before she sighed. “Killian, this man was… is a trained soldier; he’s not going to be bullied easily. He was probably trained to not give information under duress.” she reminded him. ”But… he might be even more likely to help a member of the local P.D. or CIA.” she suggested a little mischievously.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian shook his head slightly. "I'm not dressing up as a cop. CIA would be…interesting, but…" He shrugged. "I don't know. I think I could get the information as myself, too."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”I'm sure you could.” Jade agreed, nodding hesitantly. ”But what excuse could you give for Hex to ”randomly attack” someone? Because that's what people will see.” she explained in a calm voice though her eyes held a bit of worry. ”I know you have your own methods but I want to hear what he does during and after the questions.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

"See, that's the thing. I don't need an excuse, because I won't need to explain myself. If people see it as random…so what? I'm already a villain." He gave a crooked smile.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian shrugged. "I'll be fine." He replied. "Don't worry about me." He gave her a grin. "Besides, I can wear a wire or something, if you want me to."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Jade bit her lip hard, but not enough to draw blood, as she held back saying that she would worry anyway before looking at him. ”I really wish you would try my detective plan. It’s not really a wire. It’s more of a bug.” she explained with a sigh as she relented to his plan as she picked up what looked like a very small piece of metal. ”You just need to carry it in and I can see and hear everything. I can control it from here.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I don't want to do the detective plan." he replied a little sulkily. "And alright." he took the metal, looking at it curiously. "Is this the bug? It's tiny!" he grinned, setting it on his collar. "Wait…can it cling on or attach somehow?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian chuckled, and nodded. "Mm. I'll take the board." he studied the address, then grabbed the board, putting the bracelet back on. "So. If you have a question you want me to ask, how are you going to tell me?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Here.” Jade stood up and handed him what looked like an earplug for traveling. ”I don't think I need to tell you how to use it.” she smirked slightly, still nervous about this plan. ”Just be careful.”
