”Oh. I see.” Abby said softly. But why that word? Is it still in your head? she wondered.
”Oh. I see.” Abby said softly. But why that word? Is it still in your head? she wondered.
"A-Anyways! I have an idea of what we could do tomorrow." Nyt said, her ears still grey but they were becoming darker.
”Y-yeah? What did you have in mind?” Abby asked, trying to get her own blush to go down.
Nyt sat down on the bed, leaning back. "I have a friend here that I want you too meet. I also need to grab something from her." She explained. Ava and Aby seemed to share similar personalities.
Abby nodded. ”Ok. What's she like? Is she a collector too?” she asked, both happy and nervous to meet one of Nyt’s friends. ”Will she like me?” she added softly.
Nyt nodded. "She not a collector but she always has been fascinated with humans. She thought you guys still existed before I met you. She would talk my ear off with theories." She explained.
”Uh oh.” Abby giggled. ”She’s a conspiracy theorist? You know, she’s probably going to brag a lot that she was right then.” she teased.
Nyt chuckled. ”Probably. She’s been contacting me and she’s dying to see a human. Does that sound alright?” She asked, tilting her head.
Abby nodded with a smile. “Sure. Can we see the city afterwards?” She asked, “You could show me around. If it’s safe enough.”
“That sounds good!“ Nyt said as she nodded. “I’ve wanted to show you a few things in the city anyways.“
Abby smiled brightly, flopping down on the bed next to Nyt. ”I can't wait to see it up close.” she enthused. ”I bet it's amazing.”
“It really is.“ Nyt said as she ran her fingers through Abby's hair. “I can't wait to show you it all.“
Abby hummed softly, closing her eyes happily. ”If anyone back home saw this, they’d never let me live it down.” she chuckled as she pictured how delicate she probably looked from another’s perspective.
Nyt laughed softly. ”Well no one is here right now.” She said as she actually laid down now.
As she felt the bed shift under Nyt's movement, Abby rolled on her side, facing Nyt, and snuggled against her. ”I know that. That's one reason I'm this relaxed about it.” she smiled, not saying another one was because she liked it. ”Are you comfortable in that suit?”
Nyt smiled and nodded. ”I've always felt more comfortable in suits than dresses anyways.” She said smiling. ”I was ecstatic when I got this.”
”It looks good on you.” Abby commented before giggling. ”I don't really like skirts or dresses much either. They really only get in my way most of the time.”
Nyt nodded. She was trying to stay awake to listen to Abby but she was incredibly tired. ”When is the last time that you've even worn a dress or skirt?”
Abby curled closer as she remembered that moment. ”I think I was 6. I don't really like remembering that time. But if you really want me to tell you…” she sighed.
”I'd love to.” Nyt said as she closed her eyes. She wanted to listen to her but she couldn't keep her eyes open.
Abby sighed as she pulled the covers over them, half tempted to hide under them. ”It was at my parents funeral. My mom had been really sick for a while and I was told, my dad was attacked by a wild animal.”
Nyts eyes opened for this. ”Oh Abby!” She said softly as she grabbed onto her and pulled her close. She began to take off her mask. ”I'm sorry about that.”
”It’s not your fault. Stuff like that happens, even before you guys got here.” Abby assured, letting Nyt remove the mask. ”But that’s why I stay with Uncle Toby. Him and my dad were really good friends. And my mom practically became family when they first met.” she explained, wiping the excess moisture from her eyes.
Nyt hugged her tighter. "Are you getting tired?" She asked a's she cuddled into her.
”Yeah. I guess that meeting wore me out more than I thought.” Abby sighed, nuzzling into the embrace. ”You think they’ll ever get easier?”
Nyt nodded. "It will get better. I promise." She said as she settled down and eventually drifted off to sleep.
”Thank you.” Abby sighed. ”Good night, Nyt.” She whispered falling asleep soon after.
(Time skip?)
(sure)
Nyt was still asleep when the sun started rise. Though she was a bit cold so she cuddled a bit more into Abby.
