"I'm… I'm sorry, but it's probably true…" Cas tried to brush away his tears again, quivering. "I

"I'm… I'm sorry, but it's probably true…" Cas tried to brush away his tears again, quivering. "I
c-can't…"
"Yes, you can," He wiped away the remaining tears that began to fall down his face with his thumb. "You can, Casper."
"I feel so stupid…" Cas whispered, his voice faltering. "I can't even read a stupid word I don't know the meaning of…"
"Cas, stop. Stop saying those things. You aren't stupid…"
"I'm sorry, okay?" He looked up at Sorin, teary eyed. "I can't help feeling that way."
He sat next to him and got a hold of both of his hands. "I know you can't help it… and I know i'm not the best teacher or anything but…" he let out a heavy sigh. "Is there anything I can do that you think might help you?"
"I dunno… I dunno how to learn properly… I dunno how to fix myself, I just…" Cas sighed, trying to wipe his eyes again, but unable to with Sorin holding his hands.
"There's nothing wrong with you!" Sorin wiped the tears away from his face and planted a small kiss on his cheek.
Cas hiccuped and drew in a few shaky breaths, his ears turned back again. "Clearly there… th-there is, because I'm fifteen years old and I can't even fucking read…" He choked on his words and coughed.
Sorin began to cradle him in his arms, rubbing at the side of his arm for comfort. "That's not your fault…"
"H-How is it not? I… I could've taught myself at some point, I dunno…"
"Your father should have done his job in not only providing you both emotional and physical support… he should have educated you, sent you to school…" he shook his head. "It's not your fault."
"Maybe, maybe not, b-but he's dead now and there's nothing that can be done about it…" Cas hiccuped, gripping Sorin's shirt.
"Except help you, to… to give you the love that he never gave to you."
Cas tentatively nodded, but didn't speak. He knew Sorin was right. He just wasn't in a fit state to argue at the moment.
He lightly rocked them back and forth and nuzzled his hair. "We could… We could do this another day and go to the fair if you want."
"Th-That'd be nice…" Cas whispered, his voice a bit muffled from where his face was hidden.
"Alright. Go get ready while I pick up those cards," he let him go and bent down to pick up the cards. "Oh, and I put all your clothes in the drawer to fill in space."
Cas nodded and wiped his eyes as he went upstairs. He decided to wear cute clothes since they made him feel better, and he splashed a bit of water on his face before coming down in his white short shorts and pink jacket.
Sorin put all the cards in the bag and stuffed them in between the books in the bookshelf. He watched as Cas walked down the stairs and he couldn't help but grin. "You look… amazing."
"Thanks, love…" Cas stood on his toes to kiss him, seeming a bit more perky now. "How do we get to the fair?"
"Flight, of course. Though, it's a bit far so it might take longer than usual," he lowered his head and kissed the tip of his nose. "Hold on while I go change."
"Okay." Cas sat down on the couch and smoothed down his clothes, making sure he looked impeccable. He'd already discovered he felt happier when he thought he looked good.
He combed his hair and threw on a pair of jeans and leather jacket. He opened the drawer, pulling out the picture and shoving it in the back of his pocket just in case before coming down the stairs.
"Are you ready?" Cas stood up and went over to Sorin. He'd run his fingers through his hair enough that it just looked casually windswept and good instead of a fluffy mess.
"Yeah, I am," he went over the counter and to grab his keys before picking the other up in his arms. He found it to be a struggle to lock the door holding him and set him down before picking him up again and taking flight.
Cas held onto Sorin and closed his eyes until they landed as usual. When they did land, he looked around curiously and ran one hand through his hair.
People were too occupied with their games and cotton candy to pay any attention to the two. Sorin held his hand and walked into the entrance.
Cas walked in beside Sorin, holding tightly to his hand so he wouldn't get lost. His ears swiveled around to pick up the clamor surrounding them.
The bright lights that emitted from the rides and games made his eyes hurt slightly. "So, where do you want to go first?"
