"I-I… uh… if you want to, I guess?" Cas replied awkwardly. "I mean, I can't exactly force you to do anything…"
"I-I… uh… if you want to, I guess?" Cas replied awkwardly. "I mean, I can't exactly force you to do anything…"
Jane nodded. “I dunno, I mean, I feel awkward sooo…”
“You can leave if you want to,” Nick said to her. “It’s your decision, and it’s not that important in the long run.”
“Okay, um, see both of you later then, I guess,” she replied, smiling awkwardly.

(Bye)
"Alright… bye, then." Cas sighed and buried his face in Nick's chest as soon as Jane left the room. "God, that was nerve wracking…"
“Tell me about it,” Nick agreed with a sigh. “I trust her though.” He wrapped his arms around Cas.
"I hope we can… she seems trustworthy enough, anyway." Cas stood on his toes to gently peck Nick on the lips again.
Nick smiled and brushed his lips across Cas’s. He was sure that Jane would keep their secret, so long as she didn’t get super talkative late at night (since she was always more inclined to talk when she was tired). For now though, all he could really think about was Cas.
"Well, we've got the rest of the day to do what we please with, so… any ideas?" Cas asked, turning his gaze up to meet Nick's.
Nick thought for a moment. “We could explore the village together? I know we’ve done a bit of that already, but we could go places we haven’t gone yet?” he suggested, though the truth was he didn’t care much what they did, he just wanted to spend time with Cas.
"Sure… let's go out the window." Cas went over to the window and opened it, looking outside to find a way down.
“I usually just try and climb down this tree,” Nick explained, gesturing to a tree right outside his window, though it made him a bit nervous because of Cas’s last tree mishap.
Cas nodded, carefully stepping out onto the branch. He clung to the windowsill until he was able to grip the tree for balance instead.
“Are you good?” Nick asked, getting ready to step onto the tree himself.
"I… I think so." Cas wobbled dangerously and quickly clutched at the branch above him.
Maybe I should’ve gone first, Nick thought, watching Cas with worry. “I’m right here if you need me,” he said, leaning out of the window instead of climbing onto the tree.
Cas nodded, shuffling along the branch until he was able to hold onto the trunk of the tree.
“I’m coming down,” Nick spoke up before gently setting his weight on the tree and then clinging to it, moving down slowly.
Cas wobbled again and clung tightly to the tree trunk so he wouldn't fall. "Careful, Nick…"
Nick glanced down at Cas and took a deep breath. “I’m being careful,” he replied evenly, trying to soothe Cas’s fear.
Cas stretched his foot down to the next branch slowly, his heart racing. He managed to get down without dying, so he counted that as a plus.
Nick continued to descend slowly and surely, before he lost his footing on one of the branches. Panicking for a moment, he searched for a foothold, his hands straining to keep holding on. After a few terrifying moments, he was able to find a temporary foothold to get down further. He tried to play it off like nothing had happened as he neared the bottom.
Cas heard Nick struggling, but he was afraid he'd fall if he turned. "Y-You good?" He asked, slowly making his way down to the next branch.
“Fine,” he called back, continuing on. Once he found a rhythm, he was getting down a lot easier.
Cas missed the next branch and fell down until he caught the branch below that one. "Ow…" He heaved himself up onto the branch so he wouldn't fall.
“Are you okay?” Nick asked, glancing down at the other boy with concern. He clung even tighter to his branch, afraid he might fall as well.
Cas just nodded silently, massaging his ribs for a moment before continuing to look for a safe way down.
Nick kept going, almost reaching Cas at this point, since he was the faster climber of the two.
Cas slipped down to another branch, holding his breath. They were nearing the bottom now.
Nick continued his descent, careful not to get too close to Cas. He was relieved that they were getting near to the ground.
About two or three branches from the ground, Cas lost his grip due to his sweaty palms and he hit the grass. He was winded and he stayed on the ground for now, but he didn't think he was actually hurt.
Nick finished climbing the rest of the way and then jumped off of the tree, stumbling a bit before landing. His ankle hurt a little but he pretended not to feel it. “So, that was fun.” He was breathing a bit heavy from the exertion.
