"Loves you? He loves you?"
"Loves you? He loves you?"
Cas blushed a bit. "Oh… um, yeah." He didn't really know what else to say, so he left it at that.
"Why? How? How is that possible? Wasn't he with another–" he stopped himself and leaned back against the chair. "How did you meet him?"
The first questions seemed a little suspicious, but Cas didn't mention it. "Um… I bumped into him at the park one day. I was wearing a hat to hide my ears and it fell off, so he took me away so people wouldn't notice. Long story short, I live with him now."
His brows furrowed as he pressed on further. "And you went with him? A complete stranger?"
Cas shrugged. "I didn't exactly have anything to lose. I lived on the streets."
"Yet, you still risked the possibility of him assaulting you," he rested his chin on his hand. "Or worse. Though, it's quite obvious now that he didn't and is probably a genuine person."
"I mean, yeah. Wouldn't be the first time I was assaulted." He shrugged again, seemingly not at all concerned.
"Not the first time?" he shook his head. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to pry but have you told anyone?" he pointed his pen to his face. "And those bruises… How did you get them?"
"Sorin knows, and we were attacked both in the park and at the mall." He decided not to mention the bruise on his cheek was because of Sorin. It was an accident anyways.
"Have you filed a police report?" He narrowed his eyes on the boy in front of him, not pushing away the curls that had fallen in front of his face.
Cas shook his head, confused. "Was I supposed to?"
He nodded, though telling by his expression, he seemed to be confused. "And i'm not surprised Sorin didn't think to do the same," he muttered under his breath.
"What do you mean, sir?" Cas easily caught every word, his ears pricked up attentively.
"Hmm? Nothing." he tried reaching over for his coffee mug, but found it too far. He stood up, only towering over the other by a bit considering that he was around his height, and grabbed his mug before he sat back down.
"Alright… would you like to meet with Sorin alone like you did me or just bring him in here?" He asked as politely as he could muster.
He took a sip of his coffee and looked at him for a moment. "I want him to be here. Alone," he stood up and set his mug down, holding out a hand. "It was nice meeting you Casper."
"Nice to meet you too, sir." Cas shook his hand after standing as well and walked off, telling Sorin he could go in.
Sorin mumbled as he shifted around the chairs. He had fallen asleep during the whole interview and had no intention of waking up.
"Sorin…" Cas shook him, trying to wake him subtly without his interviewer noticing he'd fallen asleep.
"Hmm?" he looked up at Cas, gliding his fingers through his disheveled hair before closing his eyes again.
"You gotta go in for your interview!" He whispered sharply, dragging him to his feet.
He yawned and rubbed at his eyes. "You're done already? Can't you just stall for me?"
"No! C'mon, get up!" Cas huffed, continuing to try and pull him up.
"Casper, I thought you loved me!" he grumbled and furrowed his eyebrows.
"This is because I love you! Now, I'm not strong enough to carry you, so get up, please." He placed his hands on his hips, sighing.
He sighed heavily and stood up, rubbing at his eyes again. It was a struggle not to doze off standing up, but he pushed through enough to give Cas a small kiss before he headed inside.
Cas sat down and shook his head a bit. I wasn't even gone that long… he better not fall asleep in there or he'll never get the job.
"Hello–"
"Sit," he was quickly cut off by the other as he shuffled some papers around. Sorin was too tired to even think about who he was and just sat down. He began nodding off, struggling to keep his head up.
Cas glanced over to where Sorin had disappeared, staying silent.
