"I'm tired," he rubbed at his eyes and yawned. "And hungry."
"I'm tired," he rubbed at his eyes and yawned. "And hungry."
"Well, we can eat and sleep when we get back home." Cas looked around. "Who do we need to talk to?"
Before he could reply, a woman approached them. "Are you here for the interviews?" she asked and Sorin nodded. The woman waved them over to a small area near the back of the restaurant. "Sit over here and he'll be with the both of you in just a moment."
"Thank you, ma'am." Cas dipped his head politely and started to fidget. "Shit… I forgot to hide my tail and ears."
He shrugged and gave him a small smile. "I think you'll be fine. The lady didn't seem to mind much."
"Okay…" Cas still seemed nervous, but he kept quiet about it. "Are we gonna talk to the manager?"
Sorin nodded and focused his attention elsewhere once the door in front of them opened. Out stepped a man who looked to be in either his late teens, maybe even early twenties. He narrowed his eyes on him, trying to figure out if he's ever seen him before and not necessarily for the fact that his features appealing to the eye– dark curly hair that contrasted to his bright green eyes.
"I'm assuming you're coming in first?" He pointed a slender finger to Cas.
"Oh! Um, sure… yes sir." Cas stood up and cast a nervous glance to Sorin before following the man. "Is there anything you need to know, sir? Sorry… I've never done an interview before."
He sat down in his desk and pulled out a pen and paper. "For starters, tell me what your name is and a little bit about yourself," he said dully.
"My name is Casper Gibbons. Um… I currently live with Sorin- he's the other guy out there-. I like to help people, um…" He still seemed quite nervous. "I-I dunno. I can work hard, if that's what you need… I'm normally pretty good with conversation, I'm just kinda nervous right now."
He hummed and wrote on his paper. "Well, Casper, there's no need to be nervous," he set his pen down, his emerald eyes boring into his.
Cas nodded. "Um… I'm fifteen years old, so this would be my first job. Is that a problem or is it okay?"
"That's totally fine. Are you enrolled in school?" he pushed his curls from his eyes and tucked them behind his ear.
"Not yet. Sorin's giving me some private lessons before I get enrolled, but I should be there soon." Cas fidgeted nervously.
"Sorin… is he your guardian?" he tapped his long black nails against the table. "He looks awfully young."
Cas glanced at the door. "Um… at this point, I suppose he is. He's sixteen years old, so he's not too much older than me."
"I'm just going to assume that he's emancipated…" he jotted down a few more notes on his piece of paper. "So, why are you here? Why do you want this job?"
Emancipated? Cas wondered, but didn't ask. "Well, honestly, we're a little low on money right now. We were job searching and this seems like a good option where we can work together."
"You are right on this being a good option to work," he tilted his head to the side, revealing a row of gills on his neck before he straightened up. "We welcome everyone here."
Cas seemed intrigued, his ears pricking up. "Well, that's good, considering I'm a neko and he's an angel. I hope he doesn't mind my saying that…"
"I'm sure he wouldn't. Now, what would you say are your strengths? Weaknesses?"
"Strengths… um, I'm usually good at conversation, I can multi task, and crowds don't typically stress me out. My main weakness is probably separation anxiety… that's why Sorin and I wanted to work in the same place."
"…Separation anxiety…" he muttered as he continued to write. "I'll keep that in mind. Any questions you have for me?"
"What all do you need me to do? I wouldn't want to do something wrong by mistake." Cas looked up at the man.
"Well, all you have to do is clean the tables, take dirty dishes to the dishwasher, set the tables and refill drinks if needed."
Cas nodded. "Alright… what about Sorin? Would I see him much?"
"Yes, as a host he'll pretty much be at the front desk the whole day," he folded his hands and leaned forward. "I have to ask… why are you with him?"
"What do you mean?" Cas asked curiously, cocking his head to the side a bit.
"The angel over there. Angels bring nothing but trouble."
"He hasn't brought me any trouble… he's actually helped me a lot." Cas hummed cheerfully, swinging his legs a bit under his chair. "And I don't really mind what species he is as long as he loves me." He grinned.
