”I’m willing to work for you if you let me on.” she bargained, dropping the flirting for now. ”I’m a fast learner and very good with my hands. Anything you need me to do onboard and I'll do it.” Charlotte wasn't going to beg if she could avoid it, but more than anything she wanted off this planet.
(Sorry! I passed out!)
Delila whipped around and took a few steps backward when someone called out to her but when doing so her hat flew off, reveling her eye. She quickly scooped it up. "No," She lied. "I-I was sent to check on the ship," She stared at the floor and not at Yaver.
Zav thought for a moment. He knew nothing about her, but then again, there was nothing of value aboard the ship anyway. And he did need a crew…so why not? "Sure." He replied. "Captain Zavace Cylor." He introduced himself.
Charlotte gave Zavace a beaming smile, her tail swaying happily as a hidden tension left her shoulders. ”An honor to be part of your crew, Captain Cylor. What are your orders?” She really couldn't wait to get started.
Zav smiled. "First off, call me Zavace or Zav." He replied. "Second, do you have any bags you need to get to bring aboard?"
Charlotte nodded with a chuckle. ”Ok Zav. I only have the one bag.” she gestured to the duffel she had over her shoulder. ”Which ship is yours?”
He tipped his head slightly in the direction of his ship. "This way." He started walking, leading her to a slightly beat up ship, that was still somehow grand. It was older, and of middling size. "Here she is." He smiled slightly.
Charlotte smiled as they approached the ship. ”She’s beautiful, Zav. What do you call her?” She didn't care about the age or size of the ship. It was beautiful to her because of the freedom it was promising her as soon as they left port. She wasn't completely clueless about ships, so when she saw the slight damage to it she smirked, knowing the Captain had been lying about the space on board.
Yaver caught a glimpse of the girl's eye, and she tried not to stare, but she watched carefully as the girl grabbed the hat back quickly. Yaver leaned sideways, gazing behind the stranger.
"You were sent to check…" she studied the wall behind the girl. "…the walls?"
Yaver lifted a gentle hand, blinking slowly. "Listen, I'm not here to rat you out or anything. We're kind of in the same situation here."
"You're checking the ship out for departure?" Delila asked. After being a stowaway for awhile she learned if you create a story or lie then you need to stick with it.
There were rules to being a stowaway she had learned. Number one, never ask someone if they are a stowaway. Use the code word. Number two, Never admit to being a stowaway. The military would try to get you to out yourself as a stowaway. Don't. Number three, if there is another stowaway on the ship, help them. You're in this together.
Delila shuffled a bit. "If this isn't your ship then I'd suggest you leave." She said as she stood up a little straighter.
Yaver shuffled, fidgeting her thumbs as she looks down to the wood floor.
"I…can't. I can't leave."
Yaver wanted to hold back from admitting her actual situation, but she felt like she could trust this person. Then again, she's felt that about a lot of people that proved her wrong.
"I'm in a bit of trouble," she utters, "I promise I won't cause any trouble on the ship. I just need a ride. You won't even notice me."
(Hey guys! Just finished the outfit for Yaver!!

"Hm? Oh. She's the Äkenarion." He replied with a smile. "Thank you." He tapped a code into the door, and it hissed softly as it opened. He frowned slightly, thinking he could hear… voices? Was there someone inside?
Charlotte nodded with a smile about to make another comment when she saw Zav’s troubled expression. ”Is something wrong, Captain?” she asked softly.
Zav shook his head. "No…not yet." He replied. "At least, i don't think so." He went into the ship, and waited for her to follow him before closing the outside door.
Delila realized she was in the same position she was in. Based on the looks of her it was probably her first time too. She let out a long sigh.
"Find somewhere to curl up in. Away from eyes view. I hope you don't mind being squished." She said as she curled up behind some large boxes. She pushed down her hat to cover her eye, hoping that she didn't say it.
Yaver's eyebrows curled upward in a worried glance as she watched the stranger return to her hiding spot. Am I really cut out for this? A stow away? Is that the kind of person that I am now? She stomached down the anxiety that welled up inside her as she tip toed through the room, finding a couple of barrels that she could duck under for the time being. How long was she supposed to wait? How would she know when the ship had found it's stop? How does she remain unseen? Yaver may not have been the most graceful of people, but at least she wasn't a very present person, either.
(argh sorry)
Zav kept walking, leading Charlotte to a room, opening the door. "Here, you can stay here." He said. The room was of middling size, with a bed and nightstand, along with a small bathroom leading off of it.
This is really happening… Charlotte's excitement from earlier was still tangible but now it was mixed with a note of awe. Not about the room, though it was very nice. She has been fully ready to sleep in a hammock below deck with whatever crew was actually on board. But she wasn't about to reject the Captain giving her her own quarters. ”Thank you, Zavace.” she said sincerely.
Zav shrugged. "Well, its either this or sleep near the engines. I've got enough rooms for a crew of five, but…well." he chuckled softly. "There aren't many willing to work with a Sha'liss, especially not with a Sha'liss in command of them."
Charlotte had to nod at that statement. She remembered enough history to know what her new Captain meant, and what the rich upper-class snobs would think of… well, everything she was doing. ”I understand. But lucky for us, I don't care about that kind of thing.” she smirked, dropping her bag on the bed.
Zav gave a small smile. "Lucky for me, too." He said with a laugh. "Now come on, I'll show you around the ship." He gestured with a hand, starting to walk.
Charlotte smiled following him, her tail reflecting her excitement despite her trying to appear calm. She was very eager to learn as much as she could about what would be her new home for… as long as Zav would let her stay.
Yaver fidgeted, not sure how long she had to wait. She's never been a stow away before, but in all honesty, she can't even recall the last time she's been on a boat in the first place. For the most part, she grew up on land. Her witchcraft consisted mostly of earth-related spells, so she has never needed to do any sort of rare other-worldly spells from different planets.
Zav walked down the halls, pointing out things to Charlotte as he went. He seemed to be excited to have a crewmate. And he was. After so many people turning him down after learning that he would be the captain, it was nice to finally meet someone who didn't care.
Delila could tell it was Yaver's first time being a stowaway and judging how she acted it would probably be the last time as well. She didn't seem to be the type to break the law often. Delila found a comfortable position before starting to drift off to sleep. She never got to sleep much she let herself dose of whenever.
Charlotte easily kept pace with Zav, making mental notes on almost everything he was teaching her. The slang was probably going to take the most getting used to despite already knowing the basics. As the tour continued and she thought about what he said earlier… She knew he didn't have a crew before her but that would have made him, most likely, a Privateer at best. … I still don't care about that. It’ll be more exciting that way.
