(Oh so sorry! I think I must've clicked on this and accidentally forgot to reply!!! Ack)
"Oh, uh, yeah!" Saori smiled back. "Let's go! My place is a bit from here, so I usually take a bus, are you okay with that?"

@Periwinkle_

“Yeah, that’s fine. You know, since I’m new here, I’ve never really hung out with anybody before. I’m not really good at making friends, just to let you know.” Her purpose for those words was to make Saori a bit cautious, but she wasn’t trying to be mean. She knew she was trouble, she just wanted Saori to know that.

@Periwinkle_

“Huh. Well, let’s go then,” she replied and turned in the direction of the buses. “By the way, I’m hungry. You got anything to eat at your house?”

@saor_illust school

"I'm sure we can arrange that," she replied, smiling a bit. Perhaps this girl could really be a friend to her… but there were no guarantees and Saori let out a sigh.

@saor_illust school

Saori smiled a tiny bit. "No, not really. Just a long week ahead," she lied. Well, it wasn't really a lie, she told herself. Just not giving her the whole truth. I do have a long week ahead.

@Periwinkle_

“Huh. I know the feeling,” she replied. She didn’t want to elaborate on how her long weeks usually ended up being weeks of her skipping school. “So, I’m curious. How much do you actually know about Japanese culture? Because you seem pretty well educated about it. I honestly have no idea about any of it.”

@saor_illust school

(Just so you know I'm slightly altering Saori's backstory, so she wasn't one when she was adopted)
"Well, I had kindergarten and first grade in Japan, and then when my mum and I moved here, I took it upon myself to learn about the Japanese culture on my own, since I wasn't living in Japan anymore. I hope to go to a college in Japan someday, I'm mostly fluent in their language," she explained. "Their culture is really interesting!"

@Periwinkle_

“That’s great! You know, I’ve never even been to Japan?” Her tone wasn’t laced with the usual sarcasm that she normally had when she was acting surprised. She really was interested, and she really did want to know more. “Do you remember what it’s like?”

@saor_illust school

(Alright, so I've never actually been to Japan. Pretend everything I write about Japan is true. Note to all peeps who are from Japan - please don't be offended, I'm just not sure I want to do a bunch of research just for one rp)

@saor_illust school

"Yeah! Although the students are expected to be the janitors of the schools, we honestly have a lot of fun! We usually end up having a jam singing random songs," Saori beamed.

@Periwinkle_

“Really? You know how to sing?” She tapped her calloused fingers against the seat. “Are you okay with doing it in front of other people?”

@Periwinkle_

“Well, no that’s not what I’m getting at,” she smiled. “I play guitar, but I don’t think I have the right voice for the songs I’m trying to make.”

@Periwinkle_

She held her hand up. “I wouldn’t go as far as to say talent show, but we could definitely practice together. Maybe if it’s good we could try the talent show.”

@Periwinkle_

“Not a problem, I don’t do it much either. Although I’m assuming that you’re a bit nervous, which isn’t my problem. I just typically don’t like talking, but I’m not shy.” She shifted in her seat a bit, putting her knees up on the seat in front of her. “So maybe we could practice together sometime. See how good we are?”

@saor_illust school

"Sure, that sounds good!" Saori replied. As the bus slowed to a stop in front of a pale blue house with a darker shade of blue on the door, she jumped up. "This is our stop!" And she walked out the door and waited for Gwen.

@Periwinkle_

Gwen lazily flopped down the stairs and looked around. “Oh, I didn’t realize how close your house was to mine. I live two neighborhoods down on the right.”
She turned and walked down the driveway backwards. “So, you got any pets?”

@saor_illust school

"Oh, that's cool!" she remarked. Following Gwen down the driveway, she responded, "I wish. My mom's allergic, so… anyways what about you? You got any?" When they reached the door she pulled out a key from her pocket and unlocked the door, opening it to let them inside. "Don't worry, my mom doesn't get home for a while," she assured Gwen, just in case.
