"Why?" He asked. "Is there something wrong with the food?"
"Why?" He asked. "Is there something wrong with the food?"
Charlotte shook her head. "I don't have a reason for not being hungry. I'm just not."
Quinn nodded. "Okay." He replied, and returned to his menu.
Aster was silent.
Charlotte looked up at the ceiling and tapped her fingers boredly.
The waitress came back and Quinn, Aster, and the other guards ordered.
Charlotte sighed boredly and mindlessly tapped her fork against the table.
Quinn looked at her. "Last chance to order anything." He said.
Charlotte shook her head. "I'm really not hungry, thanks."
He nodded. The waitress left.
Aster was silent, thinking.
Charlotte tapped her fork against the table again, forming a sort of pattern. After a minute or so of soft tapping, she hummed quietly along with it.
Quinn raised his eyebrow slightly, listening to her without comment.
Charlotte looked up at the ceiling again while continuing to him absentmindedly, looking at the designs carved into it.
The food arrived after a few minutes.
Quinn started eating.
Aster looked around the table to make sure everyone that ordered had gotten food, then began to eat.
Charlotte glanced around uncomfortably. Should I have gotten food? No, that would be stupid. I wouldn't have eaten it. And they would have to pay for it. I'm doing them all a favor, she thought to herself.
Quinn glanced at her. "Want a cracker or something?" He asked, holding up one.
Charlotte shook her head. "I'm fine, thanks."
(hey ima head to bed now, so ill answer tomorrow sometime. Good night!)
Quinn nodded, and kept eating.
(Oof wanna timeskip or smth?)
(sure)
(Maybe to the next… or, portal area, or whatever it's called?)
(sure. Can you do it this time, or shall I?)
Charlotte jolted awake as the carriage rolled to a stop. "Are… where are we? She mumbled."
Quinn sighed. "It isn't evening yet, so probably the next possible portal location."
Charlotte quickly rubbed the sleep from her eyes and pushed the door open, looking around. "This doesn't look like the last place," she commented.
Quinn chuckled. "That's because it isn't the last place." He replied ss he got out of the carriage, stretching.
Aster smiled slightly. There were trees again, but they were huge monoliths that soared high into the sky, the tips buried in the clouds.
"I am well aware that this isn't the last place, you twit," she sighed, though her voice was considerably brighter than her usual.
"Then why did you comment, love?" He asked with a smirk.
Aster glanced at them, but said nothing.
"Ah, because I was under the impression that I was allowed to speak my mind," Charlotte responded. "And as hard as this will be to undersrand, I didn't actually ask for a response," Charlotte said with a matching smirk before running off to look around.
Quinn chuckled softly, and started looking around for a portal to take her home.
Aster started searching.
Charlotte kept walking quickly, and tripped over a tree root, landing hard on her wrist. She stood up with a loud curse. "Again? Wonderland's out to get me," She muttered, rubbing her wrist as She looked arkund. Unfortunately she couldn't see anything that remotely resembled a portal.
