Jay led them to his small cabin, he opened the door and didn't look behind him. "If you step on any of my plants I will actually kill you."
Jay led them to his small cabin, he opened the door and didn't look behind him. "If you step on any of my plants I will actually kill you."
"Heh, I'd like to see you try." Scipio said confidently, though he did still avoid stepping on the plants. "This your house?"
"One of them, yes. It likes to vanish." Jay said, walking inside quickly and grabbing a necklace. "This is kind of a “don’t notice me” spell. It’s not invisibility, but it’ll mean that people won’t be able to keep you in their thoughts or notice anything out of the ordinary about you, as long as you’re wearing the necklace.”
Scipio's 'cool' air faded as he took it in his hands, seeming to be in awe. "I'm going to do… so many crimes…" He whispered, letting the cold chain roll over his fingers.
"Okay, I changed my mind, give it back!" Jay yelped, oh gods, what did he just enable? I'm not going back to prison.
Scipio put the necklace on so Jay wouldn't be able to think about what he just said. "Sorry, what was that?"
"I'm a witch and I'm charmed against any of my own spells." Jay crossed his arms as his house flickered then vanished. He sighed then looked behind himself. "Guess I'm coming with you."
"Shit. Suppose it's convenient, spells not working on you." Scipio kept the necklace on, looking around. "Ah, well. Back to the city, I suppose."
"If you do something stupid, I'm going to hit you." Jay threatened, rolling his eyes. "I'm Jay by the way."
"Scipio." His Italian accent seemed especially strong when he said his name, as it was very much sounding like the language. He walked through the forest, cutting through foliage with his knife.
"Ew." Is all Jay said, seeming thoroughly unimpressed. He just muttered a few words and the branches and trees bent away from them, leaving a clear path for them to walk through.
Scipio still cut nearby trees and stuff anyways, seeming to like the feeling of cutting things. Nothing was quite like this blade cutting through flesh, though…
"Good fucking gods, your thoughts are strange." Jay muttered, he had on some enchanted earings that let him hear people's thoughts.
Scipio shrugged, not that concerned. "I was in your army. The American one." He hummed as he kept walking through the trees. "I enjoyed it."
(Bump)
"Not American, but go off I guess." Jay muttered.
(Sorry, this is all I can write rn.)
(No problem)
Scipio shrugged again, not seeming very concerned. "Either way, I enjoyed it. Helps to vent emotions."
"Yeah, I can tell." He raised an eyebrow and crouched down by a tree to cut off some of the roots and plants around the base of the tree.
"Were you ever in a war?" Scipio cut through a thin branch that was in his way and pushed past.
"Yup, medic." That was all Jay said, and he didn't sound like he would explain more. He stood back up and slipped the roots into his satchel.
Scipio nodded. "I wouldn't be a very good medic, honestly. Just by meeting me, I'm sure you could guess why. Are we almost out yet?"
"Almost." He grunted, they could hear the sounds of a bustling village and could smell the scent of freshly baked bread.
"Ah. Definitely close." Scipio tucked his knife in his pocket and managed to get out of the forest, looking down at the village from the hill.
Jay curled his lips. "Gods, I haven't been out of the forest in ages. I almost forgot how much I fucking hate this place. I was going to stop you from committing crimes, but go ahead."
"Nice." Scipio smirked and headed down into the city with Jay, looking around for something to do. He wasn't going to murder anyone yet; only starting with minor crimes.
"If you want to murder anyone, the librarians a prick," Jay muttered something to a bracelet and winked, promptly vanishing.
Wonder if I'll ever see him again. Scipio wondered, humming quietly. Screw minor crimes. He suggested murder. He headed towards the library.
The library was a deserted building, almost anyhow. There was a sole woman in the front who was making sure no one entered.
Scipio just walked in, knowing the necklace would prevent her from thinking about him much. He pulled out his dagger and looked around.
Jay, on the other hand, was maybe stealinnfnf some spices from the market.
