Abby smiled as Caleb made his list. ”Ok. Now, I get it.” Her smile turned pensive at Adar’s question. ”Yes, stealing is a crime But the Prince and the Sheriff were abusing their power of authority over the people. The whole country was suffering because of them. So Robin Hood decided to do something about it and take back what was already being stolen ”legally” and gave it back to the people it belonged to. And by doing that he also gave the people hope.”
"Oh! So it was okay to steal because the people they were stealing from were being worse, am I correct?" Adar said.
"We can be merry men!" Caleb shouted.
"What's merry men?" Nyt asked, getting confused with all these new terms getting thrown at her.
”Yes, that's right.” she answered before she cracked up at Caleb’s suggestion, really wanting to make a joke about him in tights, but she held back… for now. ”Merry Men is a reference to Robin Hood’s team of fellow ”criminals”. We are going to see if we can find a book or something for you two.”
"Oh! What would we be if you are merry men?" Adar asked.
Abby hummed thoughtfully. ”Well if you wanted; you could be merry men too. Or you could be the people we help.” she smirked, ”One thing’s for sure: I call dibs on Robin Hood!”
"Definitely! Before you, the merry men were just people living in the woods." Caleb said, grinning from ear to ear.
Adar just let it sink in. "But without the stealing right?" He asked.
”Aw… Thanks, Caleb.” She smiled. ”Yeah, we can skip the stealing part. We’ll just stick to collecting, like you and Nyt have already been doing.” Abby suggested.
"Wait! If you guys were still alive we were technically stealing." Adar said.
A look of realization washed over Nyt's face. "Adar's right. We were technically stealing. I hadn't thought of that."
”Not really.” Abby reasoned. ”The stuff you found had been abandoned for a long time, I’m sure. Chances are the original owners are dead.” she shrugged. ”You didn't steal anything.”
"I mean, technically but you guys should have it and not us." Nyt pointed out as Adar nodded his head.
"Most of that stuff is kinda useless but I wouldn't mind having some of those comics," Caleb said with a smile.
”Nerd.” Abby smiled before turning to Nyt. ”You may be right about that, but I know you worked hard to get all of that stuff. Honestly, there’s not much that would be that useful to people… And until we get to a point where a majority of people aren’t scared anymore, I definitely don't want to people to get any of the weapons that you have stored.”
"Well, it's just going to sit in my garage if you guys don't want it. And I think we can agree to keep the weapons away." Nyt explained.
"Does that mean I can have the comic books?" Caleb asked, eager.
”I’m not gonna talk you out of this if you're sure about it.” Abby sighed. ”But I still want you to keep something you found that you like. For all the hard work you went through to get everything, you deserve something nice.” she insisted.
"Oh I'll keep a few things! I just want to give most of it back to you. And yes, Caleb. You can have the comic books." Nyt said.
Caleb pumped his fists in the air. "Yes!"
"What's a comic book?" Adar asked.
Abby chuckled, shaking her head a little. ”Since Caleb can't get up to show you, I can bring a couple in from Nyt’s shed.” she offered.
"I can show Adar them! He'll just need to…er…assist me." Caleb said, blushing slightly.
"That sounds good!" Adar said as he walked over to Caleb and picked him up.
"It's happening." Nyt whispered.
(And they haven't got a clue. Their falling in love and here's the bottom line. Our trio is down to two.)
Abby had to bite her lip to keep from laughing as Adar carried Caleb out to the shed. ”So this is what it looks like from the outside.” she noted.
(ROTFL!!!! That killed me!!!!!)
"It does look odd seeing it from the outside. I can only imagine what Peter and Mark thought when they first saw us like that." Nyt said as she watched them leave, surprising not a peep came from Caleb.
”I think it was probably something along the lines of ’Has Abby lost her mind?’ They were still pretty scared of you at the time.” She laughed a little.
Nyt laughed. "Am I that scary?" She asked with her eyebrow raised.
”Not to me.” Abby smiled, leaning against Nyt. ”Kitty cat.”
Nyt leaned into her. "I need to see one of these cats you talk about." She mumbled.
Abby chuckled reaching up to Nyt’s ear. ”I’ll get you a mirror. Though earth cat's are usually smaller than you and are quadrupeds.”
"I look like a cat?" Nyt asked as she touched her ears. "But you said they're cute. If I look like a cat then why are humans scared of me when they first see me?"
Abby bit her lip, nervously as she tried to think of an answer. ”You do resemble a cat but humans are going to have a hard time seeing that until they get to know you. They’re scared of you because of what happened.” she leaned closer with a sigh. ”I told you that we're an easily frightened species as a whole. … If you learned our history you’d see this isn't the first time we've been scared of something different.”
Nyt nodded. "I understand. We look like something just enough like something on earth but also something so different. Did I get that right?" She asked.
(Got any more plot ideas?)
Abby nodded, ”Pretty much.”
(Not without a time skip. I got a couple of ideas like they all go to the camp and introduce Nyt, Adar and maybe a couple of other Slyvians if you want to the humans. Or the other way around and have a Slyvian tell an official about Abby. Either of those sound good or did you have an idea?)
(Not really. Do you want to do the one with introducing humans to Aliens? Where Nyt and Adar go to their camp?)
(Sure! I’m good with that one.)
(Mind if you start this time?)
