Milo was ready for things to go back to how they used to be when Hunter came to him, grabbing his shirt. After Hunter's warning, he let out a breath and let a small smile on his lips. Whispering back, his smile grew, "Thank god… meet me at the small park on Terra Road when you have a chance." He looked around the room then back at Hunter.
Hunter nodded, about to respond but the teacher snapped at him, “Hunter Kemp stop that right now!” Mrs. Rossel grabbed Hunter by the shoulder and he quickly let go of Milo. “Detention, this Friday young man. And I’ll be calling your parents tonight,” She snapped and Hunter held his hands up in surrender and took a step back. “Fine, fine,” He muttered, making himself turn around and leave the room before she could say anything else. As much as he wanted to talk with Milo more, Mrs Rossel would get after him. And his foster parents would probably kill him for getting another detention, but it was worth it for Milo.
Milo looked down for a second then he straightened his shirt. Slinging his backpack over his shoulder, he left the classroom, going to the back door which was on the opposite side of the school from where he was. But it was also the farthest exit away from his locker. Finally exiting the school, he closed the door and sat against the wall for a bit. He was confused, relieved, and skeptical at the same time. He curled up his knees and held his head in his hands.
Hunter went to Milo’s locker, knowing his friends would be confused if he never showed. They waited for a bit, but eventually Hunter suggested they just leave and they parted ways. He breathed a sigh of relief when he was away from watching eyes. The day had been horrible. Hunter missed Milo’s warmth, his voice, everything. And he hated faking it around Milo. He couldn’t have grabbed his backpack and things fast enough and headed for the small park on Terra Road to wait for Milo.
After maybe 5 minutes, Milo slowly got up. He started walking to the park, nervous but eager to talk with Hunter. That day was worse than all the bullying that he had been put through together. Also, his hair looked worse than when he wakes up from how much he fidgeted with it and ran his hands through it. He still wasn't feeling the best, but he felt better than before. He was walking almost as fast as he did that morning, not wanting to make Hunter wait for too long. Less than 10 minutes later, he made it to the park, stopping at the front scanning for Hunter.
Hunter, who had been sitting on a bench not too far away, quickly got up when he saw Milo walking closer. He could help himself from speed walking, and when he got close enough, he couldn’t stop his hands from wrapping themselves around Milo in a tight hug. “I missed you…”
Milo tightly wrapped his arms around Hunter the instant he did. Closing his eyes taking in Hunter's familiar scent, all worries melted away. "I… I missed you too." He opened his eyes and looked up at Hunter with a small smile.
“I’m sorry for what I did and said. I didn’t mean any of it,” Hunter promised, already feeling better as he held Milo. “Gosh today was so hard…” He mumbled, breathing in Milo’s scent too.
Milo nodded slightly. "I believe you… and I forgive you…" He felt like he could stay right there with Hunter forever, he felt so comforted. "It was… I can't deal with that every day, what should we do about it?"
“I can’t deal with it either…” Hunter mumbled, thinking for a little. “I…” Gosh what should they do? Hunter’s friends would hate him—were they really even his friends then? It was the first time he even questioned the fact. A sinking feeling settled in his gut at that. “I don’t know… I don’t even know what my foster parents would think.” Maybe they could start there… if Hunter introduced Milo to them and see what they thought…
Milo nodded a little while starting to run his hands up and down Hunter's back. "Yeah… I think my parents would be fine with this… but… I don't know…" He closed his eyes, realizing how exhausted he was, he leaned into Hunter a little more. He was considering moving to another school at that point, just so he and Hunter could be together. "What if… we went to another school…" He said softly and into Hunter's chest.
Hunter let out a laugh, mumbling in response, “As nice as that would be I don’t think it’s feasible.” Though Hunter could help but entertain the idea in his head. To go to another school would be wonderful… they could be free from everyone, and be able to hang out all the time. Hunter closed his eyes, savoring Milo’s touch. “What if… what if I introduced you to my family? And see how that goes.” Gosh… it would be strange, if his family met Milo. First he’d need to get on good terms with them. And if it didn’t work out… Well, Hunter was eighteen, so if worse came to worse he could always just leave, even if that seemed daunting all on its own.
"I'm fine with that… when do you think we should though? I don't know your parents so I can't really say when." Milo had never thought about meeting Hunter's parents, it seemed very distant but here they were, talking about it. "Um… before we continue, can we go sit down on the bench? I'm exhausted."
Hunter let out a small chuckle, “Of course we can go sit,” Hunter wrapped one arms over Milo’s shoulder so they could walk to the closest bench, before he continued, “Maybe you could come over for dinner this Saturday?” Two days… That’ll probably be enough time for my parents to forgive me about last night, and the detention I just got… Hopefully, at least.
Milo leaned his head on Hunter's shoulder, closing his eyes enjoying his presence. "That sounds nice… I'll have to check with my parents, but I bet they'll be fine with it…" A random thought crossed his mind, what about dances? And social activities? He would hate to not be able to do any of those with Hunter. "Hunter… why did Jacob and Chase want you to beat me up?"
Hunter sighed, “A picture of us when viral around the school, when we were stuck on the ride. We were just in the background, and my face wasn’t visible, but they thought you should’ve been beat up because of it, I dunno…” Hunter trailed off, thinking over it some more. When Hunter had beaten up Milo in the past… he never had a reason, really. The similarity of it to something else in Hunter’s life made him feel sick.
Milo slightly nodded, scooting even closer to Hunter, even though there was no space between them already. He gave Hunter a little kiss on his cheek since his lips were too far away. "Are you ever going to tell them about us?… actually you probably won't because of what they wanted…"
“I don’t know…” Hunter mumbled, unable to hide his little blush at the kiss. Milo’s warmth made him happy, and if that came between Hunter and his friends… Honestly, Hunter would choose Milo. His chest seemed to even glow brighter at that, but it was faint beneath his thick sweatshirt. He smiled a bit at Milo, “I think I’ll just let them figure it out on their own, if it comes to that.” Hunter didn’t think he could face telling them directly.
Milo noticed Hunter's blush and he smiled. "Hey, did you know that I love you? Yeah, it's a fact, and don't think it will be proven wrong anytime soon." He chuckled a little at his comment, looking at Hunter.
Hunter blushed some more. It was odd, to be loved. He turned towards Milo a little more and wrapped his arms around his soulmate. “I really don’t deserve you, you know.” He murmured softly, holding Milo up against his chest.
Milo tightly wrapped his arms around the boy in front of him in response. He felt Hunter's heartbeat, it matched his own. "Of course you do, you deserve anyone that you would like, including myself." He smiled a little before giving Hunter, on his lips this time.
Hunter didn’t have time to disagree as kissed him back. Stars, it felt like he was meant for this. To be with Milo. His hands roamed up and down Milo’s back, memorizing the feel of him. Hunter shifted, gently picking up Milo and moving his soulmate onto his lap so he could kiss him a little better.
Milo smiled as he continued kissing Hunter. He felt a belonging like this is what he was supposed to be doing, who he was supposed to with. His hands ran through Hunter's hair and down his back. He had a small shiver and Hunter's hands went all over his back.
Hunter’s lips turned desperate. Milo’s hands left a tingling feeling as they moved over Hunter, he wanted more. He gripped Milo’s shirt in one hand, the other still trailing up and down Milo’s back. “I… love… you…” Hunter murmured between kisses.
Milo leaned as close as he could into Hunter. "I love you more…" He said in a breathy voice, stopping the kiss for a moment, then continuing right after.
(I just remembered they are on a bench in a public park lol)
(Ha ha lol, Hunter also might be forgetting that)
Hunter said something indecipherable on to Milo’s lips, kissing him more. His chest was glowing like a lightbulb, even through his sweatshirt. “We should… go to… my car…” Hunter murmured, barely able to stop himself from kissing Milo again.
"Def… defin…nitely…" Milo whispered into Hunter's lips, prolonging the kiss before slowly and hesitantly pulling away, using every inch of his self-control. His hands stopped moving but they stayed on Hunter's back, unable to let go. Together, their chests seemed to be as bright as the sun. Just like a second light source was coming from the park.
Hunter kept his arms around Milo too and he led him to his pickup truck parked not too far away. Milo was just so warm… Hunter couldn’t stop himself from continually glancing at Milo’s soft lips until they finally got to the truck and Hunter forced himself to pull away so he could open the door for Milo.
Milo hopped in, feeling a little cold without Hunter's arms around him. As Hunter got in, Milo basically threw himself onto him, wrapping his arms around him tightly. He smiled a little, looking into Hunter's eyes
Hunter closed the door behind him with his foot, since his arms were also already wrapping around Milo again. He looked into Milo’s chocolate eyes, then he shifted both of them so Hunter was laying across the seats and Milo was on top of him so Hunter wouldn’t squish him beneath his weight. “That’s… better…” Hunter trailed off, lost in Milo’s perfect eyes.
