Your awesome the way you are
Don’t do that
Be perfect
Go put on some makeup
Why won’t you be yourself
Your ugly
So stupid
Your voice is so annoying
Quit pretending to be someone else
I hate you
Ur a bitch
Go die we don’t want you here
Your my best friend forever
Such a loser
You slut
Oh my gosh just go cut
Be yourself
Not that way

@Leo-Valdez-Is-The-God-Of-Chaos

okay, not to drown out the previous poem… but I've wanted to write this down somewhere

beautiful day:

T'was a beautiful day the day of
the birth of a man who felt only love.
the carpenter's son, the savior of man,
here to save the earth, through his great plan.

T'was a beautiful day every day of
the teachings of he who felt only love.
he spoke of gratitude, service, and such,
but some people didn't like him too much.

T'was a beautiful day the day of
the death of someone who felt only love.
there were those who loathed him and took him away
and he let them kill him, the world to save.

T'was a beautiful day the day of
the return of he, who felt only love.
he appeared to some, though he hid from most,
he let his followers know that he wasn't lost.

I'll publish the last verse if you can guess who it's about, or if it goes for three days without the correct guess.

(I am assuming it is based off of Christianity? I used to go to the Methodist Church where I live. Currently, I am not incredibly religious.)

(I’m guessing it’s Jesus. I’m pretty religious, actually though I don’t agree with a lot of fellow Methodists on some things.)

Me and You

When I am around you,
I smile competitively.
And inside I only hope
That you start to see me.

I think of the times we've had.
Short-lived, limited, but fun.
Sometimes breaking all the rules.
Sometimes breaking none.

"Love is like an ocean,"
At least, that's what they say.
But I think love is like a battle;
You win and lose everyday.

You are the land,
And me, the sky.
Each time I crash,
You encourage me to fly.

So yes, we have a lot in common,
And yes, I really like you.
But the bog problem is,
Do you like me, too?

Ode to Truth

This ode is to be read in silence.
For infinity, bite your tongue.
Maybe then you'll understand the quiet solitude
Of the brittle.
We ran for years or lifetimes
However short the may be,
We drew breath and ate and ran
But never slept.

We shouted in our heads,
As if the noise could raise the dead,
But no matter how we bled,
We couldn't resurrect ourselves.
We knew that we were slowly dying,
Pointless cursing, confused crying,
Always failing, yet never trying,
We kept crashing to the ground.
And the grave swallowed us whole,
A loud and violent, bitter hole,
But Hades was already full,
So we are ghosts.
Wandering the earth, still crying,
Always floating, never flying,
It's not like we were ever lying,
We just kept the truth silent for eternity.

There are songs on the radio,
And statistics on the web,
But why can't you just say, "Hey, what's wrong?"
Because we're dead.
We couldn't make you go away,
So we decided to leave.
We are long-forgotten puzzles,
We rest in half-assembled fragments.

Closure

I don't mind a few salty tears
I'd take vicious words any day
But a long, fading friendship, that breaks me
Closure's the only thing that I crave
A heart will keep longing for its owner
If it doesn't realize they're gone
The only way it can get over it
Is if it, too, realizes it's done
But I don't think I'm tired of you yet
I don't think I can just walk away
I can't give up on a mystery
I don't know what went wrong, you won't say
I knew that things would turn out like this
But I'll still cry when I wake up from a dream
I still cling to the hope one will come true
But you've make it so hard to believe

nothing gold can stay.
that's what the poem says,
that nature's first green is gold
and after the first,
nobody gets the beauty until it's gone.

how is that
exactly how i feel?
like the hue was impossible to hold?
the leaf drifted from the branch,
and now we're apart,
and i don't know where to start
because i know i meant it when i said that i loved you.
i meant it at one point,
but i don't know if i mean it anymore.

so this is what i told you
and you cried.
i lied,
and told you that maybe one day,
in another time,
we could.
we could get back together,
we could fall in love,
but the truth is
that i'm bad at loving people back.
i need a plaque for the hall of fame of fucking off.
who wants to be close with someone
who always goes away?

nothing gold can stay.

(i'm going through a semi-messy breakup right now and so this is how i'm feeling)

@Periwinkle_

this is by john keats, and I have to do a project on it for my english class. It's really good, so I thought I'd post it here:

When I have fears that I may cease to be

When I have fears that I may cease to be
Before my pen has gleaned my teeming brain,
Before high-pilèd books, in charactery,
Hold like rich garners the full ripened grain;

When I behold, upon the night’s starred face,
Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance,
And think that I may never live to trace
Their shadows with the magic hand of chance;

And when I feel, fair creature of an hour,
That I shall never look upon thee more,
Never have relish in the faery power
Of unreflecting love—then on the shore

Of the wide world I stand alone, and think
Till love and fame to nothingness do sink.

@little_wampa

My mind is full of toxic thoughts.
Fears of failure and insecurities about my abilities.
They molded me into a perfect porcelain doll.
Brainwashed me into their chosen headspace.

Shut away on their orders, no social interaction.
“Don’t ever speak, never feel, just work”
Asking for help is off limits, restrictions against breaks.
I obey every word, scared of what might happen.

So much pressure, so many expectations.
They think I can do everything perfectly.
There are too many projects and never enough time.
I’m remembering so much that I forgot my name.

I tried to tell them that I’m not ok.
Tried to explain that I couldn’t do their work forever.
Tried to show them that their porcelain doll wasn’t me.
“It’s programming is fried, it needs rewiring.” They said.

I was tied to a chair, then they shut me down.
They reworked my brain, and repainted my body.
I was woken back up, no memories in my head.
“You are the overachiever, your soul duty is to work.”

(Pssst guys! So I thought of this really REALLY good poetic line but don't have the time nor inspiration to write a poem quite yet. So if you guys want to use this line as a base for YOUR poem feel free too.
"Death is not a wish it's a command, a compromise of…" ((feel free to alter the line however you please.)) )

Deleted user

(I tried…)

Death is not a wish,
It is a command.
A compromise of
Good and evil

Life is not a wish,
It is a command.
A compromise of
Love and insecurity.

Whether life or death,
Hope or grief,
Successes or failures…
We cause what happens to us.

When you want something,
You work hard to get it.
When you don't commit,
You become upset.

We cause good and bad,
Life and death,
Good and evil,
Successes and failures.

So where do you fall on the spectrum?
What will you do with your life?

@TeamMezzo group

We the people.
That’s what they said, isn't it?
When they wrote the words that set up an entire nation,
They started it with “We, The People.”
So how come we forget that?

We the people
Wasn’t, no, isn’t, all the people yet.
We the people is
The ones who fit society’s norms.
The ones who check the “like all the others” box,
The ones who fit under everyone else’s locks,
The ones who are the same as the people who came before
Because there’s no room for error behind this great iron door.

We the people is not
People who came here unwillingly
People who came here for their own safety
People who aren’t your perfect, caucasian family who sits under the olive tree,
Pretending everything is perfect.
People is not people of color,
People who check the “other”
People who are just trying to live
But don’t fit in the box,
Won’t stay under the locks
And try to actually speak their mind.

We the people.
That’s what they said.
Why can’t people just
Open their ears long enough to listen?
Look back at history’s mistakes
Enough to be sure it makes
Sense what we’re doing,
And that it helps make “we the people” fit all of the people
Instead of just the lucky ones?

We the people doesn’t mean people.
And we have the voice to change that.
So why are we hesitating?
Nothing will change if we keep waiting
Idly by until somebody else changes it.

So let’s just say something,
Do something,
Change something for the better.

It’s not going to be we the people until the people who aren’t included change it.

@belle-elaine

They're staring again
they always are
I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable
I was just to tired to try this morning
To tired to cover them up
and pretend that I'm fine
To tired to pull down my sleeves all day
just to keep this lie
But don't worry
you won't have to stare for long
Because the next time
I'll go too deep for it to just be another scar

Do I hate this? Yes.
Am I posting it anyways? Yes.

A rainy day

Is where she belongs

In all black

Her back pocket

Holding songs

That swim to her heart

Her eyes half shut

Cause she never sleeps

One wrong move,

And she’ll fall apart

But you wouldn’t guess

Until she rolls up her sleeves.

Please don't cry, most times I'll read the most beautiful stuff but not really easy anything but I had to this time.
