"I'm sure…" Which was a foolish thing to say, she realized, since she didn't know Jessie's job. But she went on, pretending not to notice the slip up. "Does your work take up all of your time?"

Deleted user

"Yes and no. I'm not always doing it, but it's always involved in my daily life. Can't really avoid it."

@amber_is_in_a_loop

She nodded silently, her questions running dry. They were almost at their destinations, and Lea went for the question she'd most wanted to ask.
"We're almost there. Shall we exchange phone numbers?"

Deleted user

Shall we exchange phone numbers? These words rung in Jessie's head. She hid her hesitance with uncomfortable-ness. "Phone numbers? I don't even know your name. Why would I give you my phone number?"

@amber_is_in_a_loop

Lea laughed, heart beating wildly. "Because I'm in idiot. But I like you." She fell silent, unsure whether she was helping or digging herself further into a hole. "I'm Lea," she added weakly.

Deleted user

"Lea, huh? So, Lea. What makes you think that I would give you my phone number, simply because I know your name? I barely know you. I don't even know your coffee order."

@amber_is_in_a_loop

She frowned. "Knowing someone's coffee order is a very personal thing."
Then, taking a single step back, she pulled the coffee receipt out from her pocket, scribbled down her own number, and handed it Jessie. "There you go. This is clearly backfiring. So call me if you want to."
And she rushed to walk away.

I'm definitely not calling that nutjob, Jessie thought, yet she folded the piece of paper and shoved it into her jacket pocket as she opened the door to her headquarters.

(hey do you want to skip to the next morning? like to when its being broadcasted of pierre's assassination? i can write it if you want, kind of have an idea)

"The world begins to mourn as news spreads of Roman Pierre's death. No details have been released to the public about how he died, but it is believed that he was assassinated. Sources have revealed that his assassinator was the Phantom, who the FBI has been trying to capture for the last five years."
A smirk played on Jessie's lips as she watched the cafe TV play the news story.

Deleted user

Jessie couldn't help but smile, which she hid behind her coffee cup as she received her order. Pierre was finally dead. They'd been planning it for months, and it had finally happened. And no one had any idea that it was her.

Shivering, she shut the TV off in a rush and curled up tighter on her couch, exhaling heavily. The world was on a downhill slope.
To rescue herself from the depths of fear, she decided to switch on the first Disney movie she found which happened to be The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
"So much for a light movie," she muttered, settling in as the theme music started.

Jessie left the cafe, not wanting people to see her happiness. If someone saw how happy she was about Pierre's assassination, they might put two-and-twp together.

Jessie received a text from Mei in Mandarin, congratulating her on an assassination well done. She responded with a little smiley face emoji, one of Mei's favourites.

Jessie continued to sip her coffee as she made her way to Flynn's Flowers, the flower shop that one of her friends owned. It was her little happy place.

Deleted user

"Hi Flynn!" She said cheerily as she reached the shop. It was quiet empty, so Flynn was able to walk right over to her.
"Hey, Jessie. Nice job last night."
"Thanks. It wasn't possible without Mei. Jacob barely did anything."

(ive like lowkey linked another one of my characters into this. shes a serial killer, but has been best friends with jessie for years, if thats ok)

@amber_is_in_a_loop

(yeah that's fine)
Flowers. That's what was needed. They'd bring a bit of brightness to the place.
Getting up from the ball on the couch, Lea threw on a coat over her normal-enough looking pajamas and headed out.

Deleted user

"Yeah, he's a fucking loser. No offence to your bro."
"No, I get it. He really is. And I've had to live with him all my life."

@amber_is_in_a_loop

The flower shop was right around the corner, thankfully, so she didn't have to walk far.
She walked into the empty shop, save for the owner and one client stood chatting. Keeping her head down and her hood up, she went over to the ready-made bouquets.

"How's business going?" Jessie asked. She and Flynn had a secret code for work.
"Yeah, fine. Ordered a new batch of flowers yesterday, got to wait a few weeks for them to be delivered."
"Oh, really? Pretty ones? Or normal ones?"
"Very pretty. Might get an attachment to them."

@amber_is_in_a_loop

Lea couldn't help but overhear the odd conversation, but ignored it. She picked out an especially sweet-looking bouquet of forget-me-nots and brought them over to the counter. "Good morning," she told the seller, ignoring the other client.

Flynn turned to face Lea, slightly irritated. "I'm sorry, but can you not see that I am a little busy? We are a small shop, I can only help one person at a time. Either wait or go somewhere else."

@amber_is_in_a_loop

She's not buying anything. The bitter retort was ready on Lea's tongue, but she forced an apologetic smile on her face. "Right." She stepped back slightly.

Deleted user

"Sorry about that. How bout we go out the back while I place your order?" Flynn asked Jessie, leading her to the back of the shop where they couldn't be seen.

@amber_is_in_a_loop

Lea exhaled heavily, turning her back on the two and leaning against the counter. She started people-watching the passers-by out of the wide front windows, making up stories for their lives as they went by.

After a few minutes, Flynn walked back out of the back room. She sighed, walking to the counter. "How may I help you?" She asked Lea, her tone of voice giving away her annoyed emotions.
