Delia sighed, shaking her head and feeling a lot more calm than she had felt before, “Then I at least want to know why he came here. Did he know we were here? I hope you didn’t tell him.”

@gracehustle

“Let’s just hope he leaves soon, and isn’t a sniper or something trying to kill me,” She said just as softly, scooting back over to the monopoly game and picking up her piece. She didn’t do anything with it, just turned it in her hands and was silent.

Jay snorted. "Vince is no sniper. He's up close and personal with his kills." He replied, going over and sitting down across from her. -final test- -mom. No no no no no please please anyone but them no- -oh my God oh my God I… He flinched slightly, trying to push away the snatches of memory.

Delia pressed her eyes shut and sighed, “This is gonna be a sleepless night then.” Gently, she set her piece back on the board and looked at him, “You wanna start?” She pushed her gun off of her lap and pointed it away from anyone before looking at Jay. Oblivious to the fact that he was remembering something.

@gracehustle

“Connecticut avenue, wanna buy it?” She asked, looking to the space he landed on. After his turn had finished, she rolled, her eyes flicking around every so often and she was quite distracted.

@gracehustle

She sighed after a few turns, shaking her head. She couldn’t focus, too worried and worked up over Vince’s visit. “Everything was going so well today, and then he shows up,” She muttered softly, passing the dice to Jay and looking around for where Leo was.

@gracehustle

“It’s not your fault,” She said with a shake of her head, looking over at Leo and not up at him. Delia was curious about what happened in the ship that made Jay so nervous when Vince asked, though she wasn’t going to ask anything without having a reason to need the information.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shrugged. "I know. Still…" He trailed off, sighing softly. Leo kept biting at his paws, completely focused and not paying any attention to them.

@gracehustle

“Leo, you’re gonna hurt your paw again, stop.” She looked at the puppy and hoped he didn’t ruin the bandages, otherwise they would have to rewrap his paw again. Shaking her head, she turned back to the game quietly, “So, wanna head back out on the road tomorrow?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Leo looked up at her, wagging his tail. Jay shrugged. "Probably a good idea." He replied. "Sorry. I don't feel comfortable staying here with Vince in the area."

@gracehustle

Delia shook her head, “I don’t feel comfortable with him around either, but I want to stay here one last night and sleep on an actual bed.” She knew there would be no chance that she would fall asleep at all, but even just relaxing and trying to sleep would be enough. With a glance up at him, she asked her next question, “So, do we keep heading West? Or go back East…towards the only way to even attempt to save Earth.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded, then shrugged. "I…I don't know. I already told you that what you want to do is a suicide mission, but…I can't stop you if you want to do it that badly."

@gracehustle

She sighed, putting her head in her hands and really thinking it over. If they went west and she changed her mind, she could attempt to get kidnapped by one of the drones and get back, but there was no guarantee she would survive. East meant more aliens, more drones, and essentially more risk, especially with a broken leg that wasn’t healed. “West,” She said softly, shaking her head, “I might be kicking myself in my mind in a few days for this, but we’ll continue west for now.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded. "Okay." he said softly. He hoped she wouldn't ask about the final test that Vince had been talking about. He really didn't want to have to tell her about that. About…what had happened. What he had done. He bit his lip slightly, and took his turn in Monopoly. Leo kept chewing on his paws.

@gracehustle

She went silent after making her decision, taking her turn and focusing on the game. Her fingers drummed against her leg and even though she was much more relaxed than before, she was still tense and on guard. It wasn’t every day she saw an alien modified human that happened to know the boy she was traveling with.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay took a deep breath, trying to keep his focus on the game, and not on what had happened with Vince. Leo stopped chewing, and padded over to them, sniffing curiously at the game board.

@gracehustle

“I can’t focus,” She eventually declared with a sigh, handing the dice to him for his turn, “I’m just too…tense, sorry.” Delia patted the ground next to her and Leo padded over, quickly being scooped into her arms for comfort. She pressed her eyes shut and focused on petting the puppy in her lap.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded with a soft sigh. "I know. Me too." He replied, taking his turn and purchasing another property, then handing her the dice. Leo snuggled up to her with a soft bark, wagging his tail.

@gracehustle

She continued petting Leo through her whole turn, purchasing property and coming to the conclusion that she would probably loose this game. It wasn’t that she was a bad player, she was just not focused and had made quite a few stupid moves in the last turns. The dice were passed back to him and she moved back to calming herself down by paying attention to Leo.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay kept playing, pushing aside his memories and Vince. For now. He might not be able to sleep tonight. Leo closed his eyes, leaning on her and wagging his tail happily.

@gracehustle

“Good boy, Leo,” She said softly, continuing to play the game. Delia tried to avoid the memories of her pets that came to mind from the puppy, but it didn’t work well. She winced a little internally at every good memory, knowing she would never see her pets again. At least she had Leo.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Leo wagged his tail again, snuggling up to her happily. Jay swallowed, and kept playing. I can't do this. I should leave. She'd be safer without me around. If I wasn't here, Vince wouldn't have found her.

@gracehustle

(I kinda, maybe, sorta have an idea of something that could happen when they keep going and traveling?)
“So..Jay..can I ask you a question?” She asked, breaking the silence gently and looking down at the board as they continued playing.
