Abby smiled, trying to stay calm when Nyt held her. It helped a lot, but she didn't really know what to say. ”Hi.” she gave a small wave.
Abby smiled, trying to stay calm when Nyt held her. It helped a lot, but she didn't really know what to say. ”Hi.” she gave a small wave.
"H-Hi!' Adar managed to stammer out. "Y-You're real! I thought…" He said trailing off.
"Well, they're not all dead." Nyt chuckled. "and it's not just a few."
”He’s taking this pretty well.” Abby addressed Nyt. ”Honestly, you guys did get close to wiping us out but there's still a fair number of us out there.” she confirmed.
Nyt nodded. "He is taking it pretty well, for him." She joked.
Adar shook his head. "Sorry! It's a lot to take in. How…umm…how did you meet?" He asked, his tail twitching.
”It’s alright, Adar. Take your time.” Abby reassured. ”I was hurt and needed someplace safe for a night when I found Nyt’s shed. She surprised me when she decided to take care of me.”
Adar nodded. "How many of you are there?" He asked, bewildered.
Abby shrugged. ”I'm not sure of an exact number but… I’d guess a couple hundred back home.”
Adar blew air out of his mouth. "That's a lot."
Nyt nodded. "And we have their stuff."
Abby chuckled. ”It doesn't really count as a small town honestly. Nyt did mention that you're a collector as well?”
"I know she's a collector," Adar said. "We both are. Though her collection is a lot bigger than mine is." He explained.
”Yeah, it is pretty impressive.” Abby agreed. ”Is there anything specific you collect or just general human stuff?” she blushed very lightly. ”I’m sorry, I'm not very good at small talk.”
Nyt chuckled. "It fine Abby."
"I mostly just collect general stuff. Unlike Nyt. She collects literally everything." He snickered.
”So I noticed.” Abby laughed with them. ”Somehow she's actually managed to get some pretty hard to find stuff.”
(bump)
(My god! I thought I replied to this!)
"I can admit her collection is pretty impressive. We had always joked around that Nyt would be the one to find a human but we never took it seriously." Adar confessed. "After all, humans were extinct, right?"
Nyt scratched behind her head. "Oh yeah! I forgot about that." She chuckled.
(It's ok.)
Abby smiled, ”Well, as you can see, humans aren't quite extinct yet. But I am glad that she did find me.” she looked up at Adar. ”Anyway, aside from you being one of Nyt’s friends, there is another reason why I wanted to met you.”
Adar raised an eyebrow. "Really? What?" He asked, visibly curious.
Abby took a calming breath, ”I, sort of, self-appointed myself as an advocate towards peace between our two species.” she nervously ran a hand through her hair. ”I don't know why we were fighting in the first place but I want this animosity to end. I want us to share this world, as friends.”
Adar blinked in surprise but nodded. "I agree. There is no reason we should have done that. I would love to help." He said.
Nyt smiled and laughed. "Another one!" She said, raising her hand for a high five.
Abby happily slapped her hand against Nyt’s. ”Thank you, Adar.” she beamed. ”Really, I don't think I can thank you enough. So far, we have three other humans who are also on board. Not including myself.”
Adar chuckled. "That's not a very big number, but I'm willing to help no matter the number." Adar said smiling.
”Well, we are just starting but… We figured it would be best to start small and go from there.” Abby conceded. ”Like dropping a pebble in a pond, instead of a boulder.”
Adar nodded. It makes sense. The room went silent for a bit, no one really knowing what to say. "So what now?" He asked.
"Yeah. I was about to ask that as well." But chuckled.
Abby blushed lightly as she didn't really think this far ahead. ”We could all just hang out, get to be actual friends instead of just allies for peace.” she suggested.
Adar nodded. "What are the other humans like?" He asked.
"Come on. Let's sit down." Nyt said walking over to the couch and flopping down on it.
Abby chuckled a bit as she sat next to Nyt. ”In general or the others involved?” she asked raising a brow. ”Cause in general, right now, I think they're honestly scared and defensive. We're all trying to survive. It's not easy, I’ll admit, but humans are… resilient, I think is a good word.”
Adar nodded. "Makes sense." He said as he sat down as well.
(I'm running out of ideas!)
(Me too!)
(What if we skip ahead a bit and have one of them get hurt or sick? Like Caleb says that they have a small group of people that are ready to met Nyt but they get attacked by a wild animal. They’re able to fight it off but one of the two get badly hurt, like need a hospital hurt?)
”Oh, it definitely is.” She agreed.
You are so lucky I can't reach you right now, Caleb. Abby glared. One of these days I'm gonna find you your own cuddly Alien and have them take care of you when you're injured.
”So, you said you're a programmer. What do you program, Nyt?”
(Remember this? Wana make it happen?)
