Abby nodded, ”Then may I just hang out with you for a few minutes in here?” she asked blushing lightly. ”I know we were just together when everyone else was here but… This feels different.” she sighed. ”I’m sorry. That probably didn't make sense, did it?”
Nyy nodded. "I agree. It feels very different. The whole peace thing. It feels kinda weird. I…don't know why." She explained.
”I don't understand why either.” Abby chuckled softly. ”I was so nervous talking to everyone like that. I hope I was able to make them understand…” she sighed, running her fingers thru her hair.
"I think you did fine." She said as she swooped down and gave her a peck on the cheek. "Did I do that right?" She asked afterward.
Abby froze, turning the brightest red she had ever been. She vaguely remembered telling Nyt about kissing but she had never expected her to actually… do that.
”Y-yeah. That's right.”
Nyt smiled. "Well with you blushing that shade I can tell I did good!" She said as she headed back into the living room. Only to find Adar pressing his head into Caleb's hand as Caleb scratched behind his ear.
Abby had no way to respond. Kissing was actually a bit more intimate to humans since the air changed… something she realized she forgot to mention when she explained the first time. Ok, she does really know… you didn't explain… Technically your fault, Abby. She probably didn't mean anything serious by it anyway.
She took a deep breath to try to dispel some of the heat from her face before walking onto the same scene Nyt had just witnessed.
Neither of them seemed to notice Nyt or Abby when they walked in. Nyt cleared her throat.
Adar imeaditly shot up. "Nyt! Y-You suprised me!" He said as his ears turned full grey.
Caleb broke out in blush and hid his head in his hands when he realized Abby saw him. She's never gonna let me live that down.
Abby smirked at the blushing boys. ”Should we come back later? You seemed to be enjoying yourselves.” she teased. ”You know when his ears turn gray, that's their version of blushing. Cute isn't it?” she winked at Caleb.
Adar and Caleb both blushed harder.
"I-It's fine!" Adar squeaked. "Where's the food?"
Caleb mumbled something but it was lost in his mask.
Nyt just chuckled. "Feels good, doesn't it Adar?" She asked as she set the plate of batter buns down in front of the two before she sat down, pulling Abby onto her lap.
Abby barely managed to grab a batter bun before Nyt grabbed her. She still smiled despite her faint blush. ”You have to try these, Caleb. They're amazing.” Abby encouraged before biting into hers. ”So, what happened that lead up to that moment of trust you guys were having?”
"I saw what happened when you did it to Nyt so I wanting to see if it worked with Adar," Caleb mumbled through his hands and mask.
"It felt good." Adar mummbled as he nibbled on the bun.
"I know right!" Nyt said as she too a bite.
Abby chuckled with a broad grin on her face. ”So did you just ask, then? Or did Adar tell you what that gesture means?” she asked curiously.
"What does it mean?" Caleb asked, curious.
Adar groaned and shoved his face into his hands. "H-He doesn't need to know that!" He squeaked.
Nyt laughed. "Really? Cause I say that's pretty important." She teased.
Abby nodded, agreeing with Nyt. ”I had no idea what meant when I first tried. But apparently, it's a sign of trust… And affection.” she smirked, winking at Caleb.
If Caleb was red before, he looked like a beet now. "S-So like kissing?" He asked as the blush only grew.
Adar groaned into his hands.
Nyt nodded. "Like kissing." She said with a smirk.
”Though you two looked closer to making out.” Abby teased blushing lightly, remembering Nyt’s first human kiss.
Caleb laid back in stunned silence.
"It felt good though," Adar mumbled into his hands.
"What was that, Adar? You want more?" Nyt asked, trying to push his buttons.
Abby burst out laughing at the situation, enjoying it a little too much. She decided to get one more jab in so she broke off a small piece of her batter bun and chucked it at Caleb hoping he would turn and look at her.
The batter bun hit Caleb smack in the side of the head. "Abby!" He yelled as he chucked it back at her.
Adar sat in the middle, still unresponsive.
Nyt laughed as Abby (yeeted!) threw the batter bun at Caleb…before getting promptly hit in the side of the head by Caleb's throw.
Abby laughed at Caleb’s throw, picking up the piece of food. ”You still need to work on your aim. By the way;” She smirked and silently mouthed ’I ship it’ before taking another bite of her snack.
Caleb glared at Abby before remembering that is what he did when he saw Abby being like this. He looked at her for a bit longer before smirking and touching Adar's ear.
Adar sat up quickly after that and slightly leaned into it.
Nyt chuckled and she ate a batter bun. "Yes. Next time please aim for Abby." She joked.
Abby smiled at the gesture, genuinely happy for her friend. She originally had every intention of teasing for a while, and she still would, but for now, the score was even. ”Caleb can actually throw pretty good but he can't hit a tree in the forest.” she replied, leaning back contentedly against Nyt.
"Hey! That takes skill excuse you!" Caleb said abruptly pulling his hand away, cause Adar to snap out of it.
"Well improve it!" Nyt said as wacked him with her tail.
Abby laughed again. ”Maybe so, but that kind of skill isn't going to win you any Robin Hood awards.” Caleb and her had always had a teasing brother/sister type of relationship since they were kids. And now adding Nyt to the mix…
"Do I need to be Robin hood? No!" He said as he threw a pillow at her.
"What's Robin Hood?" Adar asked, confused.
Nyt caught the pillow and promptly sent it sailing back at him, hitting him smack in the face. "Rest Caleb. You're injured." Nyt said with a smirk.
Abby squeaked in surprise as the pillow headed for her before Nyt caught it and chuckled as Caleb got hit. ”You’d better listen to her, Caleb. She can be quite the mother hen when you're injured. She barely let me walk while my leg was healing.” She looked at Adar before explaining. ”Robin Hood was a legendary archer and thief in Medieval England. There’s all kinds of stories about him. He was a hero to many people and some would say he still is.”
Nyt gave a firm nod at Abby's comment.
Caleb huffed and laid back. "If you think about it we are kinda like Robin Hood!" Caleb said.
"What made him a hero?" Adar asked.
”His sense of justice and his thievery.” Abby explained. ”There was a corrupt prince and sheriff that were taking money from the people, making them more than broke. Robin Hood stole that money and gave it back to the people who needed it. But I don't see how we're like him.” she admitted looking to Caleb.
"Legends surround us, we live in the woods and we were almost killed, like Robin Hood." Caleb said as he ticked each reason off on his fingers.
"Wait. You said he was a thief but also a hero. Isn't thievery though as bad in your culture?" Adar asked, confused.
