(okay!)
"Actually four apparently. The trumpeter and they found the seer." He informed. "We are missing the vanisher."
"Good. Where do you live? We should meet up some where." Locke sent, hoping they weren't across the country.
"Okay." She said, nodding. "Hey, kind of weird, but… do you wake up with injuries too?" She asked suddenly, the throbbing in her leg getting worse.
Alexander smirked.
Hatchetfield, PA. Where do you live? Alexander hoped that it was nearby, or at least in the same state. What if the orhers didn’t even live in the U.S.?
“Do you think you can meet up sometime this week with the others?” Alexander added. “Oh, actually, can I get your number?”
(I'm just gonna say they live there.)
"Same. Do you know where Timber park is? Do you think we could meet up there?" Locke sent, surprised that they lived in the same town.
"Yes. I do have injuries." He said as he rolled up his sleeve relieving bandages that probably needed changing. "Do you have any right now?" He asked, seeing how she was putting less pressure on one leg.
Anna nodded, bending down and pulled up her pant leg as well as she could, reviling the bandaged cut on her leg. "They happen so often, I keep a first aid kit by the bed." She admitted.
(ok lol i just chose a random town name)
Yeah. Sounds good. Does 4pm work for you? Alexander replied.
"Yes, it does. What is your name?" Locke asked.
"That is smart." He said in a monotone voice. "Is 4 O'clock good for you to meet the others in Timber park?" He asked.
As the pain faded, Maddie reached into her backpack and pulled out a thermos, immediately drinking from it. ”He’ll be at the park after school.” Was all she managed to say at the moment.
“Did you read my phone?” Alexander asked, confused. He didn’t think she was able to see his screen, but there was no other way for her to know that…unless…
Alexander, and yours? he typed.
Anna nodded, pulling her pant leg down. "Yeah, it should." She said, putting the leg down.
”The cat, I mean.” Maddie said for once serious. ”Each of us have a mark. The one with a cat will be at the park after school.” she smiled madly again. ”I’m the seer after all.”
“Holy shit! You really saw that?” Alexander exclaimed. He stared at her in awe for a moment. Then the bell rang.
He was late for the second time that day. Great. “Actually, can you meet at the park at 4pm?”
"Locke. See you at 4." Locke sent.
"At 4 we will meet the seer and the trumpeter at Timber Park. We can figure things out from there." He said putting his phone away. "Meet me by the tree out front after school." He told Anna.
(Time skip to after school soon?
Anna nodded seriously. "I'll see you there." She said, before walking off to get to class.
(yeah sounds good)
”Sort of?” She shrugged. ”I don't know how to explain it yet, but I will meet you there and try again. Not the ”seeing” thing, the how part.” Maddie put away her thermos of ”medicine”.
”Don’t be late, little rabbit. We can't do this without you.”
Alexander nodded. “Okay, and I’ll try? Up until day I’ve mostly punctual,” he replied. “But I’m late for band, so see you later!” He shot her a quick smile and hurried off down the (now practically empty) hallway.
Locke waited under the tree out front. He was a few minutes early but he always was. He stared at his Caterpillar on the back of his hand. "I always knew I was different." He thought.
Anna ran out, sliding to a stop by the tree, and regretting it. "Hi." She said. Sorry, I had to escape a teacher."
Kai was sitting in the park, on the bench with his crutches beside him. Buster was at the vet today so he didn't have his service dog. It didn't really matter, all he was doing was thinking about the strange dreams. He didn't need anything to help him stand in them and he could teleport, which was crazy. He looked down at his hand and smiled, remembering the name his sister used to call him, her little Cheshire Cat.
Alexander hadn’t intended to be late, especially after Maddie’s comment, but he had to watch Mary Anne for a few minutes after school until his stepmom could get home. He looked at his watch anxiously. It was almost four already! Come on come on come on, he willed inwardly, hoping his stepmom could just get home already.
“What’s gotten you so worked up, Lex?” Mary Anne asked, turning from her TV show to look at him. “You look like your head is going to explode.”
“Thanks, Mary Anne,” Alexander replied sarcastically.
“Well you do!” she defended. Alexander rolled his eyes.
“I’m just meeting up with some friends,” he told her. “And I’m going to be late if Barbara doesn’t get home soon.”
Mary Anne rolled her eyes and turned back around. “It’s not that big of a deal.”
“Traffic was worse than I thought!” Barbara, Alexander’s stepmom, explained as she walked through the door. She smiled at them. “How was school?”
“Sorry Barbara, but I have to go meet up with some friends!” Alexander apologized, hurrying out the door.
“Have fun!” Barbara called after him.
I’m running a bit late, but I’m coming., he messaged Locke.
"It's fine. Let's go." Locke said almost roboticly. He started walking off campus and towards the park.
Once school was out for the day, Maddie raced to the exit like a lightning bolt, screaming at the top her lungs. Was she announcing freedom or was she scared for the adventure about to happen? It was hard to tell, even for her. Before heading to the park Maddie snuck into her bedroom and dumped out her backpack then repacked it. She kept her four thermoses, still full, and grabbed a few extra shirts, the first aid kit she had hidden under her mattress, a couple spare socks, some snack bars and two tall water bottles. She may be crazy but she wasn't insane. ”This trip is going to hurt.” she mumbled finally heading to meet everyone at the park.
She trailed after him, humming slightly to herself. "So, any clue who these people are? Or are we just going to ask around to find the seer and the trumpeter?"
"I know the trumpeter's name. Alexander and he will, hopefully, be bringing the seer." He explained. Locke didn't usually speak unless he had too. His phone vibrated. He pulled it out and read the message.
"As long as you come you are good." He messaged before putting the phone away. He only carried one other thing besides his phone. A book.
"Alexander… isn't there an Alexander at our school?" She wondered out loud. "I think he was in my history class last year."
”The little rabbit’s running late again?” Maddie giggled approaching the two. ”Shouldn’t be too surprised. I guess Time didn't favor him much either.” She joked, remembering the book. ”I guess you’re expecting me, eh Blue?” Maddie tipped her hat slightly in greeting, showing off her tattoo.
"You are the seer," Locke said confidently. "I was wondering when you would show up. And for your question Anna, yes there is. I already assumed it was him but he had to make a run to his home." He answered. His demeanor was almost completely opposite to Maddie's.
