“Me too!” Quentin agreed. He was hard to read (being mad does tend to do that), but he was excited as well. “Anyone want to play cards while we wait?”
“Me too!” Quentin agreed. He was hard to read (being mad does tend to do that), but he was excited as well. “Anyone want to play cards while we wait?”
Emmeline raised a brow. “They’re letting you take that?” Referencing the weapon on Adis’s back.
"It's better to let me take it than to try and fight a god of death." They said with an unnerving smile.
She gave a dark chuckle, unfazed by the expression and not about to argue with that logic.
Speaking of logic; Emmeline found it fortunately lacking in the kingdom allowing such a powerhouse of VK’s access to their birthrights.
Kiro sighed through his nose, closing his eyes for a brief moment to settle himself. How was he supposed to deal with the rest of them? He mother had given him a specific mission for the outside and he was not going to mess it up on account of the hoodlums he was currently riding with. He really hoped that they left soon.
Since Quentin was bored and no one here seemed particularly fond of him, which he deemed not surprising in the least, he decided to take a nap. He fell asleep quickly and snored quite loudly, the ridiculous crown he was wearing almost making him look like King John’s son instead of the Queen of Hearts’ son as it fell further down his head.
Acacia took out a compact mirror from her purse. She opened it and tried out different smiles. Most of them made her look sweet.
Emmeline sat as still as possible, trying to look completely calm, though she was eagerly anticipating the feel of her magic returning. But as excited as she was…
”Does no one else find this a bit odd? Why are they letting anyone off the Isle, much less us in particular? And why now?” She had to ask.
It was very strange to her. A mad prince, a master manipulator, and the children of three of the top five most powerful villains in history.
(Which is which? Who is who? Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?)
"Who knows, maybe someone said 'Hey, remember all those kids who you trapped in a barely functioning society based on their heritage, yeah, those. I think we should probably let them out before they fester more hatred for this place and do what their parents did but actually go through with it?' or something."
Acacia shrugged. "they probably think they can fix us. Bringing in some troubled kids makes the royals look good," Acacia said before looking at Tundra. "Even your little 'heroes' can be manipulative."
"Does it really matter?" Kiro sighed from his seat. He turned just enough so he could see the rest of them over his shoulder. "It's happening, whether we like it or not. What we can do is make the best of it," He paused thoughtfully. "Or the worst."
"Oh believe me, I will be doing that." Adis gave a devilish smile and a wink, before turning back to throwinf candies in their mouth. The car lurched forward as a large bridge opened up.
(let's assume everyone is in the car and it's started moving.)
"Oh, I plan on making the best of it. Let them use us. I'll act like a perfect little princess if it means I'm off the isle," She says smiling and tilting her head slightly. She also plans on getting everyone off the isle but she cant say that in front of the nark.
”I have many plans as well.” Emmeline smirked, glancing at her mother's ring. Though she had to choke back a laugh at the mental image of Acacia as a princess. ”And perhaps Heart will act sane for an hour.”
"I can't wait to scare the everloving shit out of Hercules and Meg's kid." Adis put their hands together like a scheming villain… Like they were.
"Quinton can act as insane as he wants. It makes me look better and is a great distraction!" Acacia says picking up some candy and placing it in her purse.
Emmeline almost rolled her eyes as her initial meaning seemed to go over Acacia’s head, though it was equally likely that she just chose to ignore it. At Adis, she did roll her eyes. ”A bit of a small-minded plan, mon ami, don't you think? Why settle for one when we can rule as we are meant to?”
"It's not my only plan, don't worry Mini Enchanter." They purred, patting their bag after putting some sweets into it.
Quentin awoke with a start, his eyes blinking open once again, mumbling something intelligible under his breath. He looked around at the others in the car, fixing his crown. “What are we talking about?”
"Well a moment ago you hun but now I have no clue," she says glancing at him but then looking out the window.
“You were talking about me?” Quentin asked, acting flattered. “That’s my favorite subject too!”
”Enchantress. Get it right death breath.” She sniped before biting into a piece of vanilla-flavored Carmel. She then joined the others in their looting over the sweets.
Acacia saw that they were getting close to what looked like a castle. she grabbed a very sugary piece of candy and handed it to Quentin. "Here take this."
Kiro flicked a few candies over with his long fingers before settling on a dark chocolate. Slipping it between his teeth, he returned his gaze to the outside world, wondering when his magic would come back. It would feel so good just to fly again.
Adis's hair poofed up, them clapping their hands happily in response. "It's back!" They giggled happily.
Quentin took the candy, looking at Acacia. “Thanks,” he said, unwrapping it and popping it into his mouth.
Emmeline gasped as her magic rushed over her. Her skin turned completely pristine and her hair looked flawless. If she was able to alter her nose and tooth… Well, she wasn't stupid enough to say she could rival a goddess but… She always thought her mother could if she had been able to retain her true form instead of somewhere between herself and the ”old hag” disguise.
Adis looked down at their clothes with disgust and snapped, the grungy leather turning into their favorite pantsuit.
Acacia looked at the others. She didn't get any powers but she still smiled as she continued to look at her mirror.
Tundra stayed quiet most of the car ride looking out the window. She glanced back at the others as their powers returned to them, before looking back out the window. She could feel the thrum of power hum through her along with the air around her turn colder. She began to wonder if she hopped out the window and onto the ocean, would the ocean freeze? Probably to be honest, and maybe the entire ocean. Her mom had done it before and accident.
