Bella stood, shocked. "Sir, I have no idea how they got out. I-I gave the keys to one of the guards on duty, he has been here the longest, I knew you trusted him. I haven't been down there since I gave them their dinner. I was in my office all night doing paperwork."

Vaughn eventually found pills and swallowed a few, not bothering to check the dosage. He went back into the storage room, getting back into his cot.

He pursed his lips. “You’re leading the search. Don’t fail me again, Arabella,” he said icily.

"Yes sir." Bella stammered, clasping her hands together. "I can go alone, if you would like. Do I have a deadline?"

“Two weeks, tops. Or you’e Fired.”

Arabella nodded. "Yes sir. May I go?"

“No,” he said, then after a moment: “You’re dismissed now.”

"Thank you sir." she nodded and scurried out the door, returning to her office. she thought about what she was going to do.Of course she wasn't going to capture them again…

A few minutes later she arrived in Kailey's office. "Do you want those people to be captured or free?" She asked.

Kailey took a long sip of her coffee, “What?”

"Those people that just escaped. Do you want them to be captured and die, or free?" she repeated.

Kailey looked around the office, it was surprisingly empty, so she quietly said, “The latter one.”

Arabella smiled. "good. I need your help in creating a plan. I have two weeks to bring them back or I'm fired. I honestly don't care about getting fired. I need them far, far away. I want to go with them." she whispered. "You in?"

“With helping you escape?”

"Sort of. I need to find where they went and follow them, then convince them to leave. You're welcome to escape with us." Bella smiled warmly.

“It won’t help you guys if everyone in the government is with the government.”

"Yeah, I suppose you're right. Will you help us, at least?"

“Of course.”

Bella sighed happily. "ok. I have no idea where they went. Do you have any idea where they might have gone/" she asked.

“… no idea…” Kailey sighed.

"oh. Do you know how to track people down?"

“Thought you’d never ask.” Kailey said with a sly smile.

"What guy? The one that 'escaped'?" She asked, making quotation marks with her fingers.

“Yep. I put a tracker on him a while ago.”
