Abby didn't respond past nodding yet though her breathing was becoming steadier. Another minute and she was back to a more normal state.
She didn't really know what to say yet but she smiled at Caleb for coming in.

Caleb smiled back. He warily looked at Nyt, still not completely sure of the situation.

Nyt sighed as Abby's breathing went back to normal. "Now let's patch up that leg." She said, having Abby sit back down on the couch.

”Ok.” Abby let Nyt take her back to the couch before looking at Caleb. ”I’m glad you decided to come in but next time; use the door.” She teased with a wink. ”Now, what are you doing all the way out here, Caleb?”

@Shadow_Knight group

Nyt began to wrap Abby's leg. She figured she would let them speak to each other without her rambling.

"Scouting since you didn't come back," Caleb said, shifting uncomfortably. "Without a report, we couldn't make camp. People got worried. Since you didn't come back we thought there might be big animals or Aliens nearby." He said glancing at Nyt wrapping Abby's leg. "Well, they weren't wrong."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Abby's eyes widened before she facepalmed. ”I forgot about the report! I'm sorry Caleb. Between my leg and the storm, I wouldn't have been able to get back on my own. I know that’s not an excuse but…” She shrugged helplessly. ”Then Nyt found me hiding in her shed and let me stay the night.” She couldn't stop the faint blush at the memory.

@Shadow_Knight group

"Well, what was I supposed to do? Leave you out there with a bleeding leg and in the cold shop." She asked as she finished wrapping it up.

"Seeing your circumstances I think it's a valid reason why you didn't come back." He said shrugging

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Hey, I'm not complaining here.” Abby smiled. ”It gave us an opportunity to talk. And, Caleb, I'm glad you understand.” Her expression turned thoughtful. ”You won't tell anyone about Nyt, right? Last thing we want is a raiding party to come to her house. I mean you can say that there is an Alien living nearby but…” Abby trailed off, running a hand through her hair.

(It’s ok.)

Abby raised a brow. “I’m serious, Caleb. I don’t think we should have to fight anymore. The Sylvians had to leave their world because natural disasters made it unlivable. I admit I don’t know why they attacked us but…” She sighed. “I don’t know about you but I’m a little tired of letting our grandparents fear control our future.”

Abby bit her lip at Caleb’s reasoning. He did have a point. ”I know it's a big risk but I… think I'm willing to take it. I'm not saying that I'm going to march straight into the center of the city and give the leader a hug. You know I'm not that stupid.” She joked, giving Caleb a playful shove on the shoulder. ”It’s going to be a long slow road but someone needs to take the first step.”

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Abby smiled with a small laugh. ”Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Might help that Nyt is interested in humans, especially our culture. We could learn a lot about each other. She actually has a pretty impressive collection of some human supplies.” She commented.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Abby smirked a bit. ”A lot. You kinda have to see it to believe it. I was blown away when I did.” she chuckled. ”I don't think she would mind showing off her collection again. We can ask her when she gets back.”

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Abby blushed bright red, fidgeting with her hands. “No, I didn’t knock. The door to her shop was open. I know it was stupid but there were no other alternatives. I was planning on just hiding in dark corner for the night. I didn’t expect her to walk back in.”
There goes any respect for my abilities.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Shut up!” She gave him another shove, though she wasn’t actually mad. “I was trying to keep from losing too much as it was. Plus, like I said, it was about to storm and I didn’t want to end up as some animals midnight snack.”

@Shadow_Knight group

He chuckled. "Alright." He said rolling his eyes.

Nyt walked back into the room. "Do either of you need anything to eat?" Nyt asked, not knowing if they would be hungry or not yet. Sylvians have a faster metabolism than humans do so they eat quite a bit.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Abby hummed in thought. She didn't want to seem rude by refusing. ”I mean if it's as good as those Batter Buns, I could go for a bite.”
And… I think I'm blushing again. Abby sighed before clearing her throat. ”Caleb, you want something? Other than to see Nyt’s collection, I mean.” She ended with a teasing wink.

@Shadow_Knight group

Caleb shook his head. "I ate before I left." He explained.

"Oh! So you told him about my collection." She said, Her ears pointing towards the ceiling and the tips turning slightly gray as she tail twitched a bit.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Uh-huh, and how long ago was that?” Abby smirked turning her attention back to Nyt. ”I told him how impressive it was, I hope you don't … mind.…” Seeing the gray tipped ears Abby couldn't help but squeal. ”Oh my gosh! I was right. That is so CUTE!” She giggled.

@Shadow_Knight group

Nyt drew in upon herself a bit, hiding her ears. "No, it's not." She mumbled, as her tail continued to twitch.

Caleb surveyed the scene with utter confusion.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Yes, it is. I knew it would be. And your tail twitches too? You're almost like a giant cat.” Abby giggled for a bit longer. Once she calmed down, she raised a confused brow. ”You get embarrassed about your collection? Why? It's awesome.”

@Shadow_Knight group

"Yeah. I guess." She said the gray on her ears fading. "Would you like to see it…um Caleb?" She asked.

"I-If your alright showing it." Caleb said. Caleb had never been good at talking.
