She nodded, ”Then you shouldn't let other people’s opinions bother you. I guess peer pressure is still a thing no matter where you're from.” She muttered that last bit. ”I think your collection is amazing! And if you have any other questions about something, I'd be happy to help you get an answer.”
Abby smiled at her two friends starting to get along, not wanting to interfere just yet.
(I'm busy so this is just a small reminder for me to come back to it in a bit.)
"Alright then. Come on." Nyt said as she came closer and wrapped her tail around Abby for balance.
Caleb glanced warily at Nyt as she approached Abby. He looked confused when Nyt wrapped her tail around Abby but didn't say anything.
Abby giggled a bit and let Nyt lead her again, though her face turned pink when she remembered Caleb was watching. “You… you coming Caleb?”
If he asks, I’ll explain.
Caleb nodded and followed Nyt.
Nyt lead them out to the shop and let both of them inside. She let them see what was in there for themselves.
Though Abby had already seen the shop, she was still very impressed by Nyt’s collection. She smirked at Caleb, crossing her arms. “Well, what do you think Caleb? I told you she found some great stuff.”
Caleb's mouth dropped open when he saw all the stuff. "I haven't seen some of these things in years." He said looking around. "You have guns too?" He asked.
Nyt smiled. "Apparently. I just figured that out today." She said.
Abby laughed seeing his actual reaction, though her’s wasn’t all that different. Once the guns were mentioned, she took a few causal steps in front of Nyt. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Caleb, she did very much. He was a good friend growing up. She was just… cautious for her new friend. “Be careful. I don’t know if any of those actually work.” She put on a thoughtful face. “Probably shouldn’t test them in here.”
Caleb nodded. "Right." He looked around a bit more. "You have these?" He asked, picking up a teddy bear. "I haven't seen one of these in a while."
Nyt nodded.
Abby blushed fiercely seeing the bear, remembering when Nyt called her one. She really hoped Caleb wouldn’t notice. But so far he hadn’t said anything about the interactions between her and Nyt.
She gave a light chuckle, “I had to tell her what that was and what it was for.”
"Yeah and that you're one." Nyt said picking her up and hugging her like a teddy bear.
Caleb looked at Abby and raised an eyebrow. "You good there Abby?" He asked, a smile starting to form.
Abby gave a squeak of surprise when Nyt grabbed her, her face now a deeper shade of red.
Whelp, there goes my dignity.
“Uh, yeah. I’m fine. Nyt is apparently a notorious cuddler is all.”
"Well, how can I not! You're so adorable." She said cuddling into Abby, purring slightly.
Caleb's fears of Nyt immediately vanished as he saw this. He bit his lip to stifle a laugh. "You look comfortable, Abby."
Abby was getting used to Nyt’s snuggly treatment of her but it was a bit more embarrassing in front of someone.
“Shut up, Caleb.” She knew he wouldn’t listen, especially not when her face was as red as it was. If anything he was probably going to laugh harder.
“I didn’t know you could purr.” She commented when she heard the sound.
"You don't?" Nyt asked looking confused. "I thought everybody purred."
Caleb chuckled softly before turning back and looking at more stuff.
Abby shook her head, a small smile on her face. “Humans, generally, can’t. Some have tried but it doesn’t sound natural.” She smirked a bit. “Don’t ask me to try. I literally can’t do it.”
Curious and a little mischievous, Abby reached up to touch one of Nyt’s ears.
Nyt's ears twitched when Abby tired to touch them and they turned a little gray. Her purring abruptly stopped.
Caleb raise an eyebrow when she tried to do this.
Abby blushed at being caught and pulled her hand back. ”Uh… Sorry. I… uh. I'm sorry.”
Dang it! What's wrong with you, Abby? For all you know that’s something rude… or personal.
"N-No! It's alright! I just wasn't expecting." Nyt explained, her ears were almost full gray.
Caleb chuckled and left the two mostly alone as he headed towards the back of the shop.
”And you call me adorable.” Abby gave a brief chuckle. ”I guess I was just curious. You're so different. It's kinda amazing.” She brushed aside her mess of blonde hair to show off her own ears as an example.
"You are too." She said, her eyes trailing to her ears. She touched them. "Why aren't they pointed? Do you have troubles hearing with them?" Nyt asked.
Abby rolled her eyes, smiling. ”So are you, that was my point.” Her blush darkened a bit at the touch. ”No, I don't have any problems hearing. Most human ears look like this. … Some humans can have a hard time hearing or hearing at all. It's not because of the shape though.”
"Do they not move?" She asked touching them again. "How do you know where sounds are coming from?"
She shook her head. ”Nope, completely stationary.” Abby hummed for a second before shrugging. ”I’m not sure personally but I bet some scientist or doctor figured it out.”
Nyt chuckled. "That's odd. What do you find odd about my species?" She asked curiosity shining in her eyes.
If Abby were completely honest; there were a lot of things she found… interesting. Her tail, her ears, her dark shadowy tone, were her violet eyes a common color?
”Your hair moves on its own?”
Nyt nodded. "Yours are made out of dead cells, correct? Mine are kind of like wiskers expet that they aren't used for feeling things but detecting warmth." She explained.
”Wow. You really are like a giant cat.” Abby giggled. ”So, does that mean; if I had touched you behind your ear, would you have kept purring? Or is there some kind of social or cultural meaning to that?”
