"Cas? Sweetie, you mind getting down from the couch?" He approached him tentatively.

Cas leapt off the couch and ran across the room, huddling in a corner. He was trembling slightly, and it took all of his self control to stay put.

Sorin walked to him and knelt in front of him. "Cas-" A sizzling sound drew his attention. He looked up to see the runes burning, pieces of blood flaking off the walls.

Without a second thought, he grabbed Cas and went out the back door.

Cas clung tightly to Sorin, watching behind them curiously as they ran. "Where are you taking us?"

An old shed he saw just a block away near an abandoned house. "Somewhere… special." Guilt ate away at him.

It only took them a few minutes to get there. Sorin turned to Cas. "Hey, wanna play a little game?"

"Sure! I need to kill some energy anyways…" Cas shifted his weight from one foot to the other, seeming very restless.

"Great! Um…" he pointed a shaky finger over to the shed. "See that shed over there? I want you to find as many kittens as you can in there." He glanced at the crowbar next to it.

Cas nodded and dashed into the shed, searching under things for kittens. His ears never stopped swiveling.

Sorin ran over and shut the door, his eyes beginning to glisten as he bent down to slide the crowbar between the door handle.

Cas jumped at the sudden noise and went over to the door, pushing on it. "S-Sorin?"

Sorin sniffed, trying to blink back tears. "Cas, i'm sorry… I had to." His wings ripped from his back. "I'll come back." Then he flew.

"Sorin?!" Cas pounded on the door, tears coming to his eyes. "Let me out!" He yowled loudly for a bit before his voice broke and he just collapsed into sobs.

He did the right thing. He knew he did there right. But why did he feel so bad? Sorin landed in the back of his house to see his front door ripped off its hinges, pieces of dried blood on the ground, and a very angry Berenice sitting in the living room.

Cas lay weakly against the door as he sobbed. Right now he mostly felt broken and betrayed; the anger would come later. Strangely enough, there actually were a few kittens in the shed who came to comfort him. So, now he was on the ground, crying and with about five kittens laying on top of him.

Her eyes shifted to his direction– a movement so slow, it was unsettling. She gave him a look raked with disdain.

Sorin stood silently and dared not to make a sound, hoping she'd leave on her own. He scoffed at the thought, knowing her.

"So," her eyes darted away from his. "this…this is where you stay?" She spoke in a low tone. Sorin nodded his head, knowing that her species could sense such things without looking. Berenice pursed her lips and looked down at her feet. "With him?"

Sorin shrugged. "And what about it?" She stood up, her irises a glowing scarlet.

Cas decided to stay himself into a corner. There was no telling how long he'd be in here, so he might as well sleep. He curled up on some hay with the kittens, his sobs going dry by now. He trembled slightly, and he only relaxed after he fell asleep.

She approached him and locked him in a kiss. Her cold skin gave no warmth as it use to when she was human, her lips, though, were still delicate and soft. Berenice held him tightly in place and he just didn't have the heart to push her away, even when he knew he should. She pulled away and caressed his cheek, her icy nails stinging his cheek. Her hand glided down his chest and to the hem of his–

"No," Sorin shook his head and gently pushed her hand away. "No." He walked across the room and opened the door. "Leave."

Her eyes darted to him. " 'No'? What do you mean 'no', Sorin?" Her voice began to rise. "After everything i've done for you!"

"And what exactly have you done for me?" Sorin shut his door, growing a bit agitated.

Cas stayed asleep for a good while, cold, scared, and alone. Not to mention at least a little pissed. He wouldn't lash out at Sorin, of course, but he probably wouldn't be too keen on talking for a while.

The whites in her eyes slowly turned black, her red irises remained the same. She held up her hand and made what looked to be a gripping motion, unfortunately for Sorin, it took him a bit of time to finally get a hold of what she was doing. His body slid to her as though it were magnetic.

A strong wave of pain hit him instantly. She had driven her hand into his chest while keeping her eyes locked on his. "This heart," he hissed once he felt pressure against it. If he had been human, he would've died in an instant. "belongs to me. Not some filthy Neko who can barely spell his name." Sorin opened his mouth to defend him, but blood replaced his words.

In spite of all of that, he was thankful Cas wasn't in his place.

She pushed him back and he fell with a thud. Sorin gasped for air, continuously spitting out the blood that pooled in his mouth until she left. He put a hand over the hole in his chest and pressed against it as he struggled to stand.

Cas woke up and stay laying on the hay. He glanced around the shed for something he might be able to eat, but he couldn't find much. Technically, he could eat mice if he had to, but he'd prefer not to if he had another option. He decided not to eat for now and just sat in silence.

He clenched his teeth and groaned as he stood on his two feet. It was fatal for angels to fly in such conditions, but he made the effort to.

Sorin winced the second he took off.

(So did she actually take his heart or just touch it to prove a point?)
Cas pet the kittens to calm himself down, keeping his eyes closed. His ears pricked at every noise, as usual, but he didn't really expect Sorin to return for him.

Blood pooled in his throat and he spit it out onto the dying grass. Sorin pulled off the crowbar one hand, the other still covering his chest.

Cas glanced over at the door when he heard the crowbar move, but he soon turned his eyes to be fixed on the cats again. He wasn't particularly happy with Sorin at the moment.

"Cas," Even saying his name was a struggle. His pain grew more intense. "Let's go home."

Cas looked away, ignoring him, though the ear closest to Sorin stayed pointed towards the angel.

"Hey," his voice came out hoarse. "I know you're upset, but Cas you have to understand that this is for your own good."

Cas stayed silent and crossed his arms, his tail flicking a bit. The kittens could tell he was angry and rubbed against him, trying to get him to relax.

Sorin sighed and picked him up, clenching his teeth as he felt cold air touching his wound. He quickly flew away with him before he could protest.

Cas hissed softly, his tail puffing up. He closed his eyes again and huffed, keeping his arms where they were.
