"Cas…" Sorin figured it was best not to tell him that he would lock him up somewhere if he had to. "Let's go to bed."
"Cas…" Sorin figured it was best not to tell him that he would lock him up somewhere if he had to. "Let's go to bed."
Cas nodded, but he didn't move from where he was. He just held a little tighter to Sorin.
Sorin wrapped his legs around his waist and walked up the stairs with him in his arms.
Cas stayed very close to Sorin once they lay down, refusing to let go of him. His grip relaxed a bit when he fell asleep, though.
Sorin waited until he fell asleep to get up and go back downstairs. He picked up a shard of glass from the ground as well as The Enchiridion that fell from his bookcase. How could I be this reckless. He had been trusted by his friend to keep it safe, away from the Auriyan Empire when he moved down here.
Fortunately for him, Berenice hadn't even noticed it. Sorin opened the book, and set it down the ground when he found the page full of runes. He pressed the glass against his skin and dragged it down, hissing in pain as the blood began to seep from his skin. He dipped his finger and began painting the walls to ward the house.
Cas stayed asleep throughout this entire process, exhausted from exertion and from crying. He sighed softly in his sleep, still shivering.
Sorin wrapped his hand with bandages before he went to go clean up the glass scattered on the floor. He couldn't bare the thought of Cas stepping on a piece– that thought alone encouraged him to clean thoroughly. He stacked up the books one by one and threw away the broken pieces of wood from the book shelf, as well as the plates and cups but sighed in relief as he found a few of them survived Berenice's tantrum.
Cas stirred a bit from the noises coming from downstairs, but he didn't wake just yet, which was lucky for Sorin. He huddled more into the blankets as he searched for warmth.
Sorin threw the broom and dustpan into the storage closet and began to walk up the stairs. He stopped and turned around to find The Enchiridion still open and rushed down to get it before he continued to walk to their room.
He crept in, quickly sliding the book under the bed before he went ahead to lie down.
When Cas sensed Sorin's body heat, he curled against him. He was still asleep, of course, but even his subconscious self wanted Sorin's closeness.
Sorin held him close to his chest, yearning for his closeness as well.
Cas purred softly, tucking his head under Sorin's chin. He entwined their legs and stopped shivering after a bit.
Sorin blushed lightly and played with his hair while he purred.
Cas relaxed more at Sorin's touch, yawning quietly. He had his tail wrapped around his own leg.
Sorin moved his face closer to his and caressed his face softly all the while he brushed his nose against his.
Cas purred a bit louder, his ears brushing against Sorin's forehead. His eyes stayed closed, and he seemed very relaxed.
Life without Cas had been lonely and he didn't wish for things to return back to the way things were. He knew he had to… to protect him. To make sure things wouldn't change. Sorin gave Cas a light kiss on his nose.
Cas meowed softly when Sorin kissed him before resuming his purring. He slept well, again from his exhaustion, and seemed to be okay for now.
(I never get to write fights so I think if you locked him up that could be fun. He would definitely be pissed, especially if Sorin got hurt)
Sorin closed his eyes and fell asleep.
He got up early though, and went downstairs to make Cas some breakfast and set up the living room with books, pencils, paper, and printed alphabet charts for his lesson today.
Cas slept for around another hour before getting up. He yawned and changed into some more comfortable clothes and went downstairs. "Morning…"
Sorin set his plate of food down on the table– scrambled eggs and bacon. He went over to him to kiss his temple. "Good morning, beautiful," he pulled the chair out for him.
Cas sat down, clearly still half asleep and disoriented. His hair was so fluffy that only the top of his ears were visible. He ate his food quietly as he struggled to wake up fully.
Sorin squatted down next to him. "Sleepy?" He chuckled softly as he poked the tip of his nose.
Cas just meowed softly, staring blankly at his food. He seemed to have entered a daze or something because he wasn't moving. Just staring at his food.
"Cas?" Sorin narrowed his eyes on him. "You know what?" He stood up and walked towards the drawers. "I've got just the cure." Sorin pulled out a small packet of instant coffee and mixed it into hot water. He went over and handed it to him once he mixed in the sugar and cream.
"What're you doing…?" Cas examined the coffee when it was placed in front of him and took a tentative sip. "It tastes strange…"
"It'll take all the sleepiness away."
"Okay, I guess…" He finished the coffee and ate more of his food. After a few minutes, he was bright eyed and bushy tailed. Literally. He was on all fours on the couch, his ears pricked and twitching, and his tail puffed up as he glanced around restlessly.
Sorin rubbed his temples and sighed. Why? Why am I this stupid? "Cas, hey, you good?"
Cas turned his head towards Sorin and made a strange catlike sound that seemed to be somewhere between a meow, yowl, and low growl. His ears swiveled around, picking up every little sound.
