Sorin looked at him. "Don't worry, it's harmless…okay maybe not harmless, but it won't hurt you. It doesn't know who you are." He waited for her response and after what seemed like minutes, she answered, the words scrawled on the book with the blood she too had written with.
'Whatever'.
Cas nodded. "What… what's it doing? Why's it talking back?"
(flashbacks to chamber of secrets )
(ooh Harry Potter!)
Sorin smiled. "It's Kyoko," he watched as the words on the book disappeared. He closed the book and tucked it under his arm. "She's providing us with transportation to her home."
(Yep yep I've read all the books several times)
"Okay…" Cas replied quietly, his voice wavering. "W-What kind of transportation?"
(Me too! Except once though lol)
"Through portal," he grabbed his bag and glanced around the room to make sure he nor Cas forgot anything in case it came.
Cas picked up his own bag nervously. "Where's it gonna appear?"
Sorin heard a loud pop then the sound of electrical circuits before he saw a bright blue light appear on the floor. The sky-colored hole on the ground grew large in a short amount of time. "There," he pointed to it.
Cas screamed at the loud noises, covering his (cat) ears. They were a lot more sensitive to sound than human ears, and damn, loud noises hurt.
Sorin pulled him close and put his hand over his. He held him tightly and jumped with him into the spiraling portal.
Cas clung to Sorin for dear life, his tail puffing up in fear. He closed his eyes, not interested in seeing his surroundings at the moment.
He hit a hard surface, pain going through all over his body. Luckily, he positioned Cas in such a position that Sorin was a cushion for him.
"Shit. I put the mattress in the wrong place. My bad."
Cas flinched at the voice, still clinging to Sorin. He was shaking and his tail was very fluffed up from fear. He meowed quietly and repeatedly, keeping his eyes closed.
Sorin groaned as he stood up and rubbed the back of his head. "Ow." He quickly scanned her abnormally large mansion before he went back to groaning in pain.
"Sorin!" He could here her running towards him, but was too hurt to move away. "My virgin angel." The pain seemed to have disappeared and his face flushed as he hid his face in his hands. She wrapped her arms around him and locked him in a tight hug. "I've missed you so much!"
Cas cowered on the floor, watching the girl closely to make sure she didn't hurt Sorin. He trembled a bit more as he looked around, meowing softly.
"Oh? And who is this?" she narrowed her eyes on him. "We've been having a Neko problem in this house and i'm not sure if he came in with you or not."
"No, Kyoko, this is Cas," he pushed her off of him and brushed his shirt off. "He's my…" Sorin thought about it for a moment. Him and Cas didn't necessarily make things official between them but he just shrugged and said, "Boyfriend. He's my boyfriend."
Cas hesitantly stood up and stayed close to Sorin. Standing revealed just how little he was, but he was more focused on looking around. He still seemed very tense, and his ears were turned back.
"Aww, he's so tiny!" Kyoko smiled brightly as she began to approach him.
"You're only three inches taller than him," he said, earning a scowl from the nineteen year old.
Cas huddled against Sorin as he watched Kyoko. He didn't trust her just yet, and he still hadn't spoken. His tail had curled up between his legs by now.
Sorin wrapped his arm around him.
"What's your name?" she spoke in a manner that many talk to small children with. "You're the first Neko who hasn't tried to steal my wallet, you know."
"I'm Cas… and I don't steal unless I have to." Cas replied quietly, fidgeting with his hands. He didn't like Kyoko's tone, but he was too scared to get mad at her.
"Nice to meet you, Cas. My name is Kyoko Saionji," she held out her hand and Sorin gave him a look of reassurance.
Cas hesitated before shaking Kyoko's hand, never leaving Sorin's side. He still clearly didn't trust Kyoko much.
"Don't be nervous," she held up her hands. "I'm harmless. I can sense the shift in your emotions." Sorin nearly forgot about her gift. Hopefully she'll figure out why they were here in the first place without him explaining it.
Cas still didn't seem very reassured, and he returned to his silent state. Sorin was really the only thing keeping him from running away at high speed.
She looked up at Sorin. "So what's up? Why'd you come here?"
"What do you mean?" He looked at her questioningly.
"What I mean is you disappeared for months and all of a sudden you want to stay here? What's going on?"
He sighed. "Berenice." She clicked her tongue and gave him a look of understanding.
Kyoko turned to Cas. "I have cat toys if you want to play with them."
"We already have some, and I'm not really comfortable enough here for any of that…" Cas avoided eye contact, hugging his bag close to his chest.
"I have kitties," she said. "You could play with them before I send them away."
Sorin chuckled softly at her efforts.
"I'm… I'm not exactly in the mood for playing…" Cas murmured. I'm scared, for god's sake. Can't she see that?
"Goddammit, what I meant to say is that can we talk," she crossed her arms over her chest. "As in, me and your boyfriend. Alone."
Cas glanced up at Sorin. He didn't really want to leave him, especially in an unfamiliar environment with an unfamiliar person.
