"Which was a very brave thing to do," Sorin held his hands. "But for your safety, hide. Stay as far away from her as you can. I'm shocked to say this is the calmest she's ever been though, you'll never know what type of mood she's in. You could be breathing and she'd devour your soul on the spot."
"What do you mean, hide? I haven't anywhere to go." Cas looked up at Sorin, his tail swaying behind him.
Sorin kissed his knuckles. "If, and that is an if, she ever comes back run far, Cas. Away from here."
"B-But I don't want to leave you all alone to deal with her…" Cas hugged Sorin tightly, burying his face in the angel's chest.
"I'll be fine. I've lived with her for many years. I can handle myself," he wrapped his arms around the smaller one, a hand lightly running his fingers through his red hair.
Cas's ears turned back and he tucked his tail between his legs again. "I… I-I can't leave…" He whispered.
"You don't need to leave now, but i'm telling you in case she does come back," he placed both hands on the sides of his face and gave him a peck. "And i'll always come back for you, Cas. Always."
Cas whimpered softly as he looked up at Sorin. "But I… I really care about you, and I really don't want to go… even if the situation arises. I want to stay by your side, love… I stood my ground today and I'm willing to fight as well."
"And I really care about you…I would die if anything happened to you."
Cas nuzzled against Sorin's chest, trembling slightly. "You… y-you can't make me leave…" He said shakily.
"Cas…" Sorin sighed."Don't make this harder than it already is."
"I won't leave you!" His voice cracked as he spoke. "I can't just abandon you like that…"
Sorin flinched at the edge in his voice. "You're not abandoning me. I'm trying to protect you."
"I'm not about to just leave you like… l-like she… left me…" He finished in a whisper, clutching the fabric of Sorin's shirt.
(Whoops turns out his mother gave him attachment issues)
(God no ):)
"Cas… hey," he bent down on one knee while holding the two of his hands. "By leaving me, it's not only protecting you, but it's protecting me. She could use you to get to me."
Cas looked away, blinking to try and prevent himself from crying. "I need… I need to help you… I-I… I can't leave…" He stammered, clutching Sorin's hands tightly.
"He- Hey," he turned his face to face him and caressed his cheek. "I promise you i'll be alright."
Cas quickly brushed away a tear that had fallen, still trembling. "I can't… I can't stoop to her level…"
Sorin glanced uncomfortably at Cas. He knew he was at fault. "Cas," he ignored the edge in his own voice. "If anything happens to you, I don't know how I could live with myself."
"N-No… please…" Cas coughed, trying to force himself to stop crying unsuccessfully. "I don't want to go…."
It became harder for him to breathe. Sorin knew what he was doing was hurting him, but it was for his own good. "Cas, you have to. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, or even in a couple of months but when she comes back, you have to."
Cas shook his head and buried his face in Sorin's chest again, hiccuping quietly.
Sorin embraced him and kissed the top of his head. He sighed, running his fingers through his soft hair as he fought to contain his own tears.
He has to.
(Idk how Sorin plans to get him to leave because he's clearly not going to do it willingly lol)
Cas curled his tail around Sorin's leg and clung to him tightly, almost as though he expected him to disappear if he let go.
(Wilingly… he has ways lol)
Sorin brushed his nose against his temple, savoring the feel of his skin as if it would be the last time he ever felt it. "I love you."
( o o f )
"I love you too…" Cas replied weakly as he continued crying. Please don't make me leave… I don't want to be like my mother…
"Cas… I'm sorry. I can't leave you here, honestly," he continued running his fingers through his hair. "I don't want to wake up in the morning knowing you're not there, don't want to not cook for you, not teach you-" Sorin held him tighter.
Cas sobbed quietly, gripping the back of Sorin's shirt as he hugged him. He practically begged Sorin under his breath to not make him leave, to not make him abandon him… because to him, that's what it felt like. It felt like abandonment, and he couldn't bring himself to do that.
Guilt ate away at him. "Don't make me do this, Cas…please," his voice cracked, "Please." I want you to stay…but you need to go.
"Do what…?" Cas asked in a whisper, keeping his face hidden.
