Jair nodded. "Thank you, Kana." He called after her, shifting slightly. He was in pain now, the stab wound sending shooting pains through him every time he moved.
Jair nodded. "Thank you, Kana." He called after her, shifting slightly. He was in pain now, the stab wound sending shooting pains through him every time he moved.
She smiled when she heard him use her name. A few minutes later, she returned with the doctor. Kana leaned against the wall for support, feeling somewhat shaky from the small walk. The doctor kneeled by Jair and inspected his situation. "Did you want the pain medicine?" the doctor asked.
Jair nodded. His face was slightly pale, and his muscles were rigid with pain. "Yes please."
The doctor pulled out a large handful of herbs, handing one of them to Jair. "Eat this," she instructed. Handing the rest to Kana, she said, "Make sure he eats one every 5 hours, your highness." Kana nodded and thanked her, whil the doctor took her leave.
Jair ate one gratefully. "Thank you." He said, to both the doctor and Kana. He sighed softly. "I'm sorry I can't be more helpful." He told Kana.
Kana smiled and put the herbs in her jacket pocket. "You're being helpful by healing,"
Jair shrugged slightly. "Yeah, but…I failed at my job, and now I can't do anything but sit here uselessly." He said.
Kana thought for a moment "You're not useless right now. You're keeping me company!" She giggled cheerfully, like a child
Jair sighed. "Yeah, but you have a million other people in this palace willing to keep you company, Kana." He pointed out.
She shook her head, still smiling. "I prefer your company over anyone else's"
He raised an eyebrow. "Okay." What does she mean? He wondered.
"Is that pain medicine working?" She changed the subject.
He nodded. "Yeah. Thank you." He replied with a small smile.
(Is he good enough to walk?)
(ehh maybe? As long as it's not too far?)
"Do you want to go to your room so you can lay down?"
He sighed softly. "Mm. Might be a good idea." He replied. He raked a hand through his tangled hair. "Help me up?" He asked, extending a hand.
She took his hand and tried lifting him up with what little strength she had left. It was enough, but barely.
Jair stood, and let go of her hand. "Thank you." He said, leaning against the wall slightly.
She held onto his hand again. Come up for a reason why you did that, idiot! she thought. "L-lean on me. You're the one hurt, so use me as your… wall." She felt slightly embarrassed saying this, it was quite unlike her.
He looked at her, and raised his eyebrows slightly. "Alright." He said softly, putting some of his weight on her. "Thank you." He looked down at the ground for a second.
"You're quite welcome," she smiled to herself. She looked down at the ground with him, and waited for him to start moving
Jair looked back up, calculating how far the route was in his mind. He started walking. He was careful to keep strain off of his wound, and took the most direct doute to his room as possible.
Kana supported him and surprisingly wasn't overwhelmed by his weight or her lightheadedness. When they eventually reached his room, she helped him sit down on the bed.
Jair sighed softly. "Thank you, Kana." He said quietly, looking up at her gratefully.
She returned his smile. "Anytime, Jair," she paused, wondering what to do with herself. Should she stay? Should she go? "Do you think that you're going to go to sleep?"
Jair shook his head. "I'm not tired." He replied softly.
Kana sat down on his bed, crisscrossed. "Then I'll keep you company," she grinned. "We can talk about anything. Or we can stay silent. It's all up to you."
Jair smiled. "Mhm. Alright then." He replied with a slight shrug.
Kana glanced at him curiously, but tried to hide it. I am really curious about his feelings for me. But it's weird to just ask that kind of stuff. She thought about her feelings for him, unaware that she was spacing out
