Nathaniel nodded and reluctantly pulled away as well. "What're we having?"

He shrugged "bakery as always?" He asked, sitting up and running a hand through his hair

"Yep." Nathaniel stood up and stretched, his wings flexing and trembling slightly behind him.

"plain bagel or you gonna try to something new?" He asked, standing and pulling on a shirt

"I dunno… might try something new today. Any suggestions?" Nathaniel looked up at V, changing as well.

"literally anything on the menus as long as it's not a plain bagel." He said with a laugh.

"Well, I've never had anything else! What's your favorite?"

He thought for a moment "the pumpkin walnut corn cakes are amazing, we'll have to see if they're selling them at this time if year."

"That's… that's a lot of words…" Nathaniel took V's hand. "I like just 'bagel'. It's far easier to remember."

"I promise you'll like it, if you're willing to try." he said, heading to the door of the bedroom

"Okay…" Nathaniel let V lead him, watching people walk by curiously. Once they arrived he examined the expansive menu, overwhelmed.

He glanced down at nathaniel and smiled "Do want to order anything else or just the corn cakes?"

"Uh… a bagel…?" He asked weakly, glancing over at V.

He chuckled lightly "and of course a bagel." he ordered the pumkin walkut cake squares, a bagel and two herbal teas and went over to the chairs to wait

Nathaniel sat down with V, blushing lightly. "Sorry I'm so weird…"

"it's alright love, I love your weird cravings for plain bagels." He smiled and glanced around the cafe

Nathaniel laughed quietly. "So I guess they bring it to us?"

He nodded "yep, speaking of, here it is." He glanced up at the waitress coming over with a tray. She set down the pumpkin cake squares along with the bagel and drinks. V thanked her and started to eat the cake

Nathaniel tried a tentative bite of the cake. It was a pretty strange taste, as he hadn't had pumpkin before, but he didn't hate it.

V tilted his head "is it good?" He asked, taking a sip of the tea

"Yeah, it's alright." Nathaniel took another bite of it and set it down.

V smiled and raised an eyebrow at the abandoned cake. He shrugged and took another bite of his own

Nathaniel hesitated before slowly picking up his bagel. He watched V closely while he took a bite, almost as though he expected to be reprimanded.

V glanced up at Nathaniel, feeling his gaze on him. "Prefer the bagel huh?"

"…Yeah.." Nathaniel mumbled, taking another bite of his bagel. "I just like bagels…"

He smiled "we'll need to restock our supply's of bagels at home then. Those ones that come in bulk." He finished up his slice of corn cake "I'm guessing you want to save that one?" He asked, pointing to Nathaniel's piece

"Sure." Nathaniel finished his bagel and shifted his wings a bit beneath his clothes.

He nodded and asked the waitress for a to-go bag.

They packed up the cake and left. "When's that interview, again?" He asked, holding V's hand.

"some building near the edge of town. I think it used to be a studio." He said, lightly rubbing his thumb along his hand
