Grimm smirked at the flustered girl. "Don't worry, I've had a long time to get any sort of stupidness out of my system."

Mercy gave a very equestrian huff, still not quite believing him. Though given what she knew about Rune… it was plausible.
“I don’t think I’ll ever understand the obsession with being young again. You already look too young to be Rune’s father, adoptive or not. More like a brother.” She admitted. “You know, if that band said something more along the lines of “If lost please contact” instead of “Property of” this whole encounter would have gone very differently.”
She smirked overhearing Grimm and Naide conversing.
Naide, I didn’t know you were such a flirt.

Naide crossed her arms glaring into his eyes.
"Yeah well, i think you forgot some of it"
She said sarcastically.

Grimm reached up, poking her in the cheek before jogging to catch up with the others. He was starting to like these people.

“Well, bad word choice, and there isn’t much room on the band going around a bird’s leg,” he admitted with a slight shrug, “And I’m eighty years older than I appear.” He could barely hold himself up, “I apologize for any…miscommunication on my part.”

Rune took the headphones excitedly, “Thank you!!” She bounced, completely and utterly fascinated with the reflective pieces.

“True.” She conceded. “But that still doesn’t explain her panic attack. What other kinds of your magical works has she been affected by?” Mercy felt him slump against her a bit more. “Are you well? I mean apart from the obvious.”

Naide, flustered for some reason, morphed into her wolf form, bathing up to them, running last the… Whatever the new guy was.
Young-Jae's watching, a little annoyed. Not that they were doing some flirty things or anything, but she was being a little annoying.

"I'm as good as I can be until I get home, I guess," Finneas answered Mercy. "And to be clear, it isn't exactly magic; it's alchemy. I've given her edible experiments to help her fly longer with more stamina, cookies that heal her after hurting her wing or getting stuck in a hunter's trap. The experiments never hurt her, it's only the antics she gets into when she goes out flying on her own."

Ok, this guy is starting to make too much sense.
“I see. Well, we should be there soon.” She reassured. “I always thought Alchemy was a branch of magic, similar to how botany is a branch of science.”

"Alchemy is a branch of science," He explained, inwardly hoping he said enough to quell her dis-sureness in him for now "Only it can do so much more."

As the group arrived, Finneas' house looked like a normal, one story farm house–only much smaller and more compact, fit for one man. The garden out front was lavished with various growing herbs and flowers surrounding the contrasting bare front porch. He probably hadn't been on earth here long and didn't have time to furnish the entire house but he knew he had the essentials for any experiments, methods, recipes, and mostly importantly: the tools he needed to take off Rune's band.

Rune brightened at the sight of the house. It was almost identical to the one she lived in with Finneas, albeit the lack of proper furniture and a forest surrounding them.

"This where you live Rune?"
Naide walked up to her, morphing human once again.
She was still severely suspicious if this dude.

Mercy kept silent as she surveyed the small house. It was honestly nicer than she expected, no where near as lavish as Young-Jae’s home of course but still…. A part of her had been anticipating an even smaller run-down shack of some kind. But, it almost had a simplistic homey charm to it. She did smile as she recognized some of the plants he had planted.

(Finneas made it so that only he could remove her band, if anyone else tried it would probably hurt them)

"Yes!" Rune replied to Niade, and bounded in front of them to the house as fast as she could. In order to at least feel the sensation of flying.

"Okay"
She said walking to the house. Looking around, it was nicer than she expected, but she still hated it. It made her happy to see Rune so happy, but at the same time, when as alsure Finneas was deceiving them.

“Is this a close enough distance for you to walk on your own? In my current form I don’t think I can carry you up the stairs. Much less fit through the door.” Mercy ended with a light chuckle.

Finneas breathed a raspy laugh, "Yeah, I can make it." he struggled to climb off her back. He made his way up the steps with heavy effort, eventually standing alongside Rune to unlock the door.

Soon enough, the wooden door swung open to reveal a large living room and a bed in the corner. A bathroom door stood beside the bed, but other than that there were no other rooms. Finneas hobbled over to the large table leaning against the adjacent wall, "Here, Rune." He whistled, to which Rune readily followed him. He took her arm with a hand, palm up, to examine her band.

Rune bounced on her heels impatiently.

Mercy waited until Finneas was inside before shifting into her human form, although a few inches taller than before, and followed. Her hair and eyes were slightly darker now as well due to her apprehension. The interior was as sparse as the outside, only the essentials for living and his work.
Glancing around, she frowned. Not at the conditions however, more at herself.
She was conflicted. After talking with him, she was still wary but was starting to see him as less of the monster she had imagined and more as an actual person who made a rather big mistake.
She gave a light huff, almost mentality cursing herself, before softly gathering a few plant samples she recognized for healing.
“Would I be wrong in thinking that these plants would have the same effect on you as they would on a human?”

“You would not be wrong because I technically am human,” He answered Mercy in a half-mumble, preoccupied with holding Rune’s wrist and searching through the table’s drawers, “Just a very…educated one.”
