“Hi, Freya!” Ean exclaimed. “Yeah, we’re getting close! We were just thinking of strategies to use on the kaiju and stuff that we can make to use against it!”
“Hi, Freya!” Ean exclaimed. “Yeah, we’re getting close! We were just thinking of strategies to use on the kaiju and stuff that we can make to use against it!”
(Sure, I forgot he was gay lol, friends it is!)
Iris gave a two finger salute when Freya came in. She turned towards Ean and looked at him "shall we go?" She asked
“Yep!” Ean agreed. “See you guys when we land!” He walked out into the hallway, upbeat as usual. His mind was running with ideas, and he knew that he and Iris would be able to come up with something that would work.
Iris glanced at her companion and folded her arms across her chest "so, what kind of device were you thinking of?" She asked, walking out of the cockpit behind him
“I think we should build something that will blind it with a bright light,” Ean explained. “Like maybe a drone we can control and we can make it shine on the kaiju. I have a mostly done drone I haven’t touched in a while that we can use.”
“Greetings, Freya!” Strex nodded. “Just planning out and preparing. We should be there soon, to Choaliv.” Strex turned towards her own devices, pulling out a digital map of the rocky surface of Choaliv. She wanted to study it, at least. Maybe see the layout of the mining structures. In case they decided to go ahead with their trap idea.
KH stood up. “Going to check some of my gears quickly. I’ll be back soon.” He left the area, presumably heading to his ‘quarters’ as well.
Freya nodded, somehow giving off the impression that she was smiling despite not having a visible mouth. Her long claws clicked against her controls, bringing up a visual of the planet before them. "Any other dangers we should be worrying about on the surface?"
"We could attach a camera to the drone to control it from a lo get distance without being seen. How about LEDs fixed into small burrowing robots to lure Terlas away from other mines? We'd need to study its travel routes before positioning them so an underground radar tracker too?" She asked, opening the door to the workshop and taking out a few pencils as well as simpled materials. Iris blinked a few times to put the second soin over her eyes, better protection than goggles in her opinion.
“I like it! I’ll go get some parts while you keep sketching,” Ean suggested and walked off to go find some parts.
Iris nodded and started sketching out some simple designs. A little while later, she went to grab a few scraps of plastic to make a small model of her design. A few modifications later, she dusted off the final design and showed it to Ean. "Hows this?"
Strex pulled up some stats of the planet. “Well, Choaliv is a desert planet. It’s going to be hot there, and if we send any robots or drones down there, we’ll have to worry about overheating. That shouldn’t be a problem for the ship and KH, however.”
Presumably looking at the types of weather, she also added, “The weather there seems to be mostly clear, but we might have to watch out for sand flying up into the air. I will note that it is going to be cooler underground, and there are underground springs as well. And there’s the geysers, but I’m not quite sure if we’ll see them. If we do fly over them, we’ll need to watch out for them if they spray towards us.”
Freya made a humming noise deep in her chest in acknowledgement of the information Strex was giving her. She figured that she wouldn't have a hard time acclimating to the surface, but she sure hated sand. Her tail flicking in annoyance, she gently guided the ship into a descent towards the planet. "Confirmation on Kaiju location?" She asked over her shoulder, her mental voice not betraying any emotion.
“I like it!” Ean replied, with a smile. “Could we figure out a way to control the drones remotely? That would make it much easier.” He showed her some of the parts he had brought back for invention as well.
"These parts are awesome although I'm.not sure why a rubber duck is part if the mix." She chuckled, pointing to the rubber creature part of the mix. "We could use special receptors and signal boosters. It would keep us slightly safer"
Strex leaned into her screen, reading something.
“Last transmission from Choaliv states the Kaiju was last spotted east of our descent. It burrowed under the ground, and we’ve been only receiving some location updates that it is heading north east now.”
Name: Dr. D'Aja Vu (Her moms are sick bastards when it comes to puns)
Age: 29
Species: ((Cyborg? Human? Alien? Robot? This is a futuristic-sci-fi world we're speaking here, so..)) Human acting as host to alien parasite.
Gender: Female, but parasite is agender.
Sexuality: She never really knew. To be honest, it's the least of her troubles.
Appearance: ((Height would be useful)) one of the sketches is unfinished but I don't care. Also I have zero consistency in my art so I guess I'm just gonna sit here and sob okay moving on!
at about 5' 7" in height and scarily underweight.
Clothing: ((keep in mind of the setting here)) Basically just a basic shirt and pants, sometimes a tool belt.
Job: ((what do they do on the ship? They cook? Navigate? Repair? Stop people from making bad choices?)) Keep people from making bad choices, cook, therapist, and resident doctor.
Backstory: ((doesn't have to be an essay.)) D'Aja is at an all time low. She started life in a junkyard, found by security, and turned over to the only orphanage on the planet, and it wasn't the best place to grow up. However, she was adopted by two amazing women, Anna and Dorian Vu, who raised her well enough with lots of support and love even in their impoverished colony. D'Aja went on to be a doctor, and decided to travel. She promised to meet her moms again in three years. Of course, that plan didn't work out so well. She crashed and given that she had little engineering experience and the rest of her crew was dead she wasn't capable of getting her ship offworld. She was captured by settlers on the planet who were apparently nonviolent, as long as you didn't try to leave and ended up staying 5 years. She met a native to the world, Seo, a restless female engineer ready to get the hell out of there. They spent the next few months repairing the ship and planning what they'd do when they left. They were captured and interrogated the day of departure, but D'Aja managed to escape. Her ship was utterly trashed, but she repaired what she could through Seo having shown her the ropes over the years, but she was held up two months by not having her friend and queerplatonic partner helping out. She returned for Seo, but the woman was terribly shaken and in a nearly catatonic state for a long while, having been tortured and dealing with the reality that D'Aja had left without her. She nursed her partner back to health over the next few months, and eventually they left with quite the struggle, yet again crashing on a slightly nicer planet and ending up meeting the team, who were fighting some Kaiju. D'Aja got lost, meeting a mysterious being that claimed to need her body, and having given up on any hope, let the thing take over in a last, irrational act of self destruction. The being didn't harm her or even take over her body, but it did keep her alive and it kept her safe. D'Aja and Seo joined the Kaiju hunting team later and have lived with them ever since.
Personality: She used to be very upbeat and empathetic, but now doesn't really care about herself much, is slow and just tired of being, in a state of flux between wanting to be and wanting to die. So she's kinda a shitty therapist. If you don't fix your own shit, then you can't help others with theirs. But she tries to support where she can, if she can manage to get out of bed. She hasn't slept in a while.
Other: ((feel free to add other categories too)) Her parasite doesn't normally take any control of D'aja unless she's in grave danger. It does have abilities D'Aja can readily access, if she really knew what they were or cared enough to use them.
Name: Seo
Age: 27
Species: ((Cyborg? Human? Alien? Robot? This is a futuristic-sci-fi world we're speaking here, so..)) Tessian.
Gender: Female
Sexuality: None. She's ace, but pan/demiromantic.
Appearance: ((Height would be useful))
About 5' 2".
Clothing: ((keep in mind of the setting here)) Dresses when she can, otherwise overalls and a shirt that she can easily throw out or is tough enough to survive grease, tears, and smoke, among other repair things.
Job: ((what do they do on the ship? They cook? Navigate? Repair? Stop people from making bad choices?)) Resident engineer and tech genius. Not the best fighter though.
Backstory: ((doesn't have to be an essay.)) Seo hated her planet and people. She knew everything they did to outsiders or people they weren't so fond of otherwise, and that was genetic experimentation. She should know, she helped conduct it. But Seo wanted out and D'Aja and her ship was the best way. Refer to D'Aja's backstory, add more torture, and you've got a good idea of what happened to Seo.
Personality: Carefree and kind, but not the most in touch with emotions at all and very blunt. She can't keep a secret for the life of her, but that's alright because she makes friends easily and you just can't help but forgive her adorably childish face. She's very charismatic in a playful, childlike way, but isn't very domineering, leaving the leading to leaders. But she has a few triggers that will make her hide in her room for a day or two at worst, need to leave the room and collect herself with a bit of crying at best.
Other: ((feel free to add other categories too)) Has some pretty intense PTSD but hides it behind smiles and jokes most of the time. Don't play card or board games with her, she will fucking destroy you because she's a complete boss when it comes to anything remotely strategic.
Note: I suffer from depression, anxiety, anorexia, and have had problems with panic disorders related to trauma in the past. Don't expect me to get everything about these two character' mental health correct, I'm basin this off of my experiences and people that I'm close to's experiences so if I'm misrepresenting something, tell me! My grandmother and one of my bffs both have PTSD so I know a little about this, don't worry, by still. The constructive criticism helps. Good day!
Yay! I finally had the energy to post characters! Feel proud of me!!
((Nice! Feel free to jump in whenever!))
(No idea how to do that, sorry. I'm tired, I'll sleep now and post tomorrow big that's alright?)
(not big, if, sorry my clogged brain has a lot of spelling problems.)
Vexhorc was left unsure of what all and everything everyone started talking about. The once toothy smile turned into a puzzled frown. He knew only a few of the terms being used, traps a definite one. Though the creature was unsure of how they were placing said 'trap'. Perhaps he missed something when listening to the conversation. He was sure they had heard him, maybe miscommunication? Or were they all trying to figure something else out entirely?
"Hm…Vexhorc still not like idea of fighting big ugly in own terrain…big ugly smart to lay own trap maybe?"
It was a decent question. He, and probably the rest of the crew, didn't know the intelligence of this creature. This was a wild beast, and most wild creatures were very unpredictable. They wouldn't know what would happen when they finally found the beast and had it trapped.
"Vexhorc and Cruax will still track big ugly…"
"Vex has a fair point. I'd rather not fight a Kaiju in it's den either. Especially underground with no escape." Freya hummed quietly, her tail wrapping itself around the back of her chair. Tapping a claw thoughtfully on her chin she continued. "If we are to engage it in the open, we would have a far better chance. Vex do you think you can draw it out?"
(Okay I'm not really sure how to jump in here, how should I do this?)
“Oh, yeah, um, that’s not supposed to be there,” Ean muttered, blushing, as he pulled the rubber duck into his arms. “And yeah, that’s a good idea. Let’s get to work then!” He set the duck down next to him and got some tools.
(Do you want to detail the work process or just skip through it and show up to where the others are?)
((Right now we’re just preparing and planning for going to Choaliv (the planet) You could meet up with my character KH, if you want to, because he could also give you an in-roleplay briefing of what’s happened so far. Most of us have just said we exited our quarters and went to the cockpit as well, and from there decided what to do.))
KH began to walk around in the hallways again, deciding to look around at some things before the arrival. He paused at one of the ship windows and seemed to stare out of it. It was hard to tell with him. Robot and all.
Strex tapped her claws on the desk as she attempted to pull out a visual of the Kaiju. She exhaled as she was faced to errors each time, before deciding to give up.
She decided to listen into the plans, adding in her thoughts when needed.
(Seeing as I have no clue how any of that works, I vote that we skip through it.)
(Lmao ok)
Iris added the finishing touches on the paint and stepped back with a satisfied grin. "So these play a high frequency sound and have brought, blinding lights." She said, talking about the burrowing robots "I'm finished with the look if these buggers, you finished there Ean?" She called, flying above the workshop to find him
“Yeppers!” Ean answered. “These drones can be controlled remotely so we can watch them and see what they are doing. They are also equipped with the capacity to play a high frequency sound.” He beamed.
"Perfect! Let's go meet up with the others and show them our creations." She said, landing beside him and holding her wings
