"It's ok. I'm just not really good at swimming." Finch said and fixed his hair.

"Oh. Okay." Jidhr nodded, his smile still not worn off.

Finch nodded. "Want to walk some more or no?"

"Sure." He glanced back at the others for a moment. "We can go back to them later."

"Alright." he said and nodded then kept walking

"What are you thinking about?" Jidhr eventually asked, turning his attention to Finch.

"Uh what do you mean?" He asked quickly.

Jidhr shrugged. "Pretty straightforward. What were you thinking about?"

"Nothing…. Um what about you?" Finch nodded.

"What Cassy was saying, mostly. About her parents acting weird around the party this year."

"Have yours been acting weird like hers?"

"Well…you know I don't talk to them often, but whenever I bring up the party - or actually, do anything even remotely connected to my necklace, like if I even touch it-" At this, Jidhr reached up to finger the golden chain -"They kind of get firmer with me and try to take it."

"sounds kinda weird… I haven't had a real conversation with mine for awhile. We don't agree on a lot. But lately they have been trying to get my knife. Though it is locked in a box…" Finch replied and nodded.

"Oh. That's good." Jidhr nodded. "I mean, my sister snuck into my room last night while I was trying to sleep to get it from me. They probably paid her."

"Wow… It's all kinda weird though." Finch said and nodded. "Wonder why suddenly they are trying to take this stuff back."

"I know. They've never paid it any attention anytime before," Jidhr pointed out. "Do you think something'll happen?"

"Maybe. It would explain their mannerisms and their actions. Also they seem to be hiding a truth of some sort."

"What kind of truth, though? What do any of our objects have in common besides all having a gem?"

"They were given to us all around the same time…."

"Know where they're from?" Jidhr asked, looking down to him. His own parents had never answered where he'd asked, although he had done some individual research and come to the self-guided conclusion it was from a tomb in the Egyptian desert, perhaps from a pyramid raid, although he wasn't sure.

"Not a clue." Finch replied. He had never actually thought about the origin of these stones.

"I mean…I could try and look up what they're made of. Maybe that'll help." Jidhr sighed. "I don't even know what the goal is here. It's just…weird."

"I know a science lab and people who could help us in. If we could test them maybe we could figure out the origin." Finch suggested.

"Really?" Jidhr looked up. "That sounds cool."

"Yeah. Maybe at one point we could try to go there." Finch replied and nodded.

"Yeah, yeah. That would be awesome." Jidhr said with a nod, smiling down at Finch.

"Um alright." Finch said and smiled.
