@ElderGod-Carrots
he closed his eyes, sighing softly.
he closed his eyes, sighing softly.
Caleb felt his phone buzz on the nightstand and leaned over and picked it up, reading whatever message it was. He sighed heavily, “great” he grumbled in annoyance, putting it back down on the nightstand with a loud slam.
Kyle jumped at the slam, immediately on alert and scared, eyes wide. He knew Caleb would never hurt him, but he couldn’t not be on edge.
Caleb of course subconsciously felt bad for scaring him but right now he was just too worked up to register it. “They need me to come in today for work. Like right now.” He said in agitation. “That’s just fucking lovely.”
“A-Are you gonna go?” He asked quietly, looking down in his lap and fiddling with the end of his jumper.
“I kinda have to sadly. This shouldn’t take too long hopefully.” He said, gently kissing Kyle’s head before scooting Kyle off his lap and getting up to grab his things.
Kyle pouted, though he nodded in understanding, "O-Okay."
Caleb grabbed his duffel bag off the floor. He was still seemingly pretty agitated and tense but he walked back over to Kyle and kissed him on the cheek. “I love you”
Kyle offered a small smile, though it didn't last long, "Yeah… love you too…" He mumbled.
Caleb didn’t notice this and headed out the door. “I should be back in an hour or so”
Kyle didn’t answer, rolled over on the bed and curling up into a ball.
Caleb closed the door behind him. It’d been around 3 hours since then and there’d been no sign of him.
Kyle began to grow restless, worried about Caleb. He’d been sleeping most of the time but he finally got up, slowly walking towards the door and heading out to see if he was there.
No one was outside of the door. However there were faint voices in the distance. It made sense, after all they were in Dark’s base, there were bound to be other people like Jonah here.
Caleb was taking more risks today than he normally did. He knew that. He just felt so….useless. His boyfriend was suffering from some unknown disease and extreme panic attacks and he didn’t even seem to have the strength to keep fighting. It pissed Caleb off, not only the fact that he couldn’t do anything, but the fact that Kyle didn’t even seem willing to fight it and just accepted that he might not get better. ‘I thought I’d be enough for you to want to keep fighting. Guess not.’ He thought bitterly, only jerked out of his thoughts once Eddie yelled ‘Caleb watch out!’
Kyle headed towards the voices, using the wall to keep himself standing up right. He needed Caleb, he needed the comfort, needed something. He knew something was wrong, could feel it deep down. And his magic knew it, too.
((Can we have an F in the chat for Caleb
The voices were coming from some sort of common area. As he got closer, Kyle would probably start to recognize them as four different voices.
(Not the babyyyy)
“Caleb?” He called out. He knew the chance of it being him was low, but it was worth a shot as he walked into the common room.
((Fffffffffff Caleb did a dumb
And what do you know, Caleb wasn’t there. Jonah was there though along with the pale doctor boi, that girl Kayla, the girl Thiayv whose twin had jumped off the rafters, a random brunette girl and another boy around 12 who looked similar to Jonah. “He’s not here right now.” The pale guy called out, looking over at Kyle. The brunette next to him took the opportunity to look at the pale guy’s cards, because apparently they were playing Uno.
“Jason, your boyfriend’s looking at your cards.” The redhead girl Thiayv said.
The brunette girl, who was an excellent cross dresser apparently, glared at her. “What the fuck man”
“Taylor stop looking at my cards, cheater!” The pale boy Jason said, automatically hiding his cards before returning his focus to Kyle.
Kyle took a step closer, balling his hands up in his sweater, "Do you know when he'll be back? He should have been by now and.. I'm worried."
“He told Veronica that he wouldn’t be gone for a long time…he might be gone another hour or so.” Jason said. “You can come sit with us if you want until he gets back.” He offered. He seemed nice honestly.
Kyle bit his lip. He hadn't had to interact with this many people in a long time but… "Could I? Y-You wouldn't mind?"
“We wouldn’t mind at all. Come on. We don’t bite.” Jason smiled
Kyle tried to smile back, small but there as he went and sat down.
As the game went on, it was easier to figure out who everyone was and their personalities. Taylor, the brunette girl was extremely talented at makeup and disguise, and was biologically a guy but he considered his gender to be pretty fluid. Taylor was the resident chaotic crackhead and competed a lot with his twin sister, Thiayv. She was more analytical and calm. And then there was Jason, apparently his pure white hair was all natural, he was the group medic and he and Taylor had been dating for three years.
Kyle felt very out of place in the group and he contemplated heading back to his room. But he couldn't when he knew Caleb would be in danger.
Jason would occasionally talk to Kyle but for the most part it was him screeching at Taylor. Eventually Jonah woke up from where he’d been napping in the corner with the other kiddos. He smiled excitedly at seeing Kyle and bounced over to him. “You’re here!”
Kyle smiled slightly, giving Jonah a small wave, "Yeah, I'm here. How are you?"
“I’m doing great!” He said, sitting down next to him. “Dark told us this morning that you’d gotten here but he also told us not to invade your privacy.” He pouted. “But now you’re here here!”
He sighed softly and nodded, "Yeah, I'm waiting for Caleb…"
“Don’t worry I’m sure he’ll be back soon.” Jonah chirped cheerfully
Meanwhile, Caleb had managed to survive. This case that his boss had put him on had been…more difficult than expected. But he’d come out on top (lol) just like he always did. And now he had what he needed. Like usual, there had been no civilian casualties, all the armed guards unconscious. Only then did he realize the extent of his injuries. He really had been reckless.
