Maylynn stood up and looked at him gratefully.
"Thank you… when will I be able to use them?"
She asks in a worried tone, wondering how he did that…. he was definitely not human, but that doesn't mean he won't hurt her.
A few droplets of water fell on her face as she looked up at the ceiling of the cave, she needed to find a place to stay, but for now, the cave would be fine. She looked around the cave, coldness seemed to fill every corner of the cave and warmth seemed to have never tried to crawl its way in there. Somehow a slight breeze seemed to flow through the cave, making a whistling sound. There must be an opening on the other side. She felt as if the bones in her legs would shatter, and something would come up from behind her and eat her. She had to find a way out of here. She couldn't phase through the walls since it was underground so her tunneling was useless. She looked up to the hole she fell in, she could see the trees, with the sun shining through the leaves, the wind howling through the woods.
"I'm no medic."
Danny sighed and also noticed the rough conditions the cave would bring if they tried to stay there. He wasn't sure this could be his home any longer.
"I have no clue if you'll ever be able to use them again at all, but who knows. Do you want to rest a bit so I can get some wood to make a fire, or do you want to move out? I'm Daniel by the way, but you can call me Danny."
He could try to teleport them somewhere better, but he wouldn't know where to go that would be safe. Even though no human could reach them within the forest, there were still great dangers out there.
She could feel her heart drop in her chest, the thought of not being about to fly again hurt so badly.
"um, I think we should stay here as a base until we find a safer place to stay. And…. what do you mean "we're in the woods"?"
She asked him curiously, for she knew nothing about these woods.
She could summon flint and steel if she needed, she might even be able to summon a few sheets, she was weak and so was her alchemy at the moment. She didn't want to overexert herself and her powers…. she kneels down on the ground, drawing another circle in the dirt, only dark blue, and yellow sparks flew from the tiny circle, and with a tiny flash, a fire was burning in her palms, not affecting her skin at all.
"You don't know?"
He says, looking at the hole above.
"No human can venture in these woods without risking death… or worse. It's a safe spot for us magic beings."
He looks at her and notices the flame resting in her palm. His eyes widen in surprise.
"Guess I won't be needing to go out."
He mutters, entranced by the fire. He shakes his head and looks at her in confusion.
"If you don't mind me asking, what kind of magic being are you? Who… who are you?
Maylynn looks up at him from the fire in surprise.
*humans cant enter here?!"
She says surprised with a smile.
"So I'm safe?"
She mumbles to herself while looking at the sticks at her side, she bends down lighting them on fire, putting the fire in her palm out.
"I don't know….. I use alchemy, but that's not really magic, I use quantum tunneling, meaning I can technically phase through any matter that exists…. unless it is underground….then that will just get me nowhere."
She says rubbing a bruise on her arm, looking at the flame then at the hole in the ceiling leading outside.
"my name is Maylynn…. please just call me Maylynn though…. only my brother called me May…"
She said in a depressed voice, standing up and looking into Dannys eyes.
"So what magic do you use?"
"My power is the power of Death. I have certain control over life, death, and spirits, and I have the items that belong to death. My Scythe can teleport things," he says, motioning with the Scythe, "and my Cloak can protect me and turn me invisible. One of the great things that come with being the Descendant of Death is I heal quickly."
He turns to show her his wounds, which have been slowly healing while they talked.
"Only I can use these items. Anyone else who tries to would be cursed to wander the lands alone as a bodiless spirit when they die. I myself can not die, but as you have seen I can still be injured and in great, great pain. Only when my first son turns 12 will I die."
He notices the pain in her voice when she mentioned her brother.
"It seems we have both felt the loss of a loved one."
He chuckles sadly. A lot of people ask him the same question when he reveals himself as Death, one he has asked himself. He answers it before she asks it.
"Not even the powers of Death can stop some things."
Maylynn looks at him with sadness and sympathy,
"I'm sorry"
Her voice seems to barely come out of her throat. She walks up to the hole and looks up at it.
"can you teleport someone else?"
She turns to him, anticipating an answer. If she could get out of the cave, she can hopefully get supplies, and maybe even build a ladder so they can get in and out. She cant summon a ladder, shes never had to, so she doesn't know the techniques for it.
She might even be able to kill a few things, and maybe find some safe berries to eat. All of a sudden a wave of worry crashed over her, hitting her like a boulder.
Naide!
She hadn't tried summoning her when shes this weak, let alone summoning a living thing, but she was going to try.
She quickly dropped to the ground, drawing symbols all over the place, once she was done it made a huge circle with her in the middle. Her hand dropped to the ground touching the center. A single spark flew up in the air, then the circle became golden, lighting up the whole cave. Sending Maylynn flying back, hitting the wall, then falling to the floor.
"n-no…."
She stands up, her eyes yellow from the sparks, slowly turning back to green.
"can you summon a specific animal?"
She asks him, her face filled with dread.
Danny watched the whole event with interest, and then surprise and worry. He drops his Scythe and hurries to her to check to make sure she's ok.
"I don't know if I can. Normally I teleport to places and teleport people and things I know. If you describe this animal I might be able to, but it's 50-50."
He guides her up and walks her back to his Scythe, where he sits, motioning her to do so as well. He puts the Scythe in his lap and thinks.
"Yes, I could, but you would have to describe your animal in great detail and tell me what sets them apart from other animals like it. Otherwise, I might get the right kind of animal, but not the specific animal itself."
Maylynns face lights up, Naide was definitely different from other foxes.
"well, she's a white fox, with the tip of her legs, snout, and tail, oh and the tips of her big ears fading into pure black. She's about this tall"
She gestures her hand measuring about a foot tall.
"one of her eyes are blue and the other black, super fluffy, oh i miss her already! Shes probably hurt!"
She says rambling on, she totally forgot that she was talking to a stranger. She was overjoyed that there was a probability of her getting Niade back.
"she also has a thin black stripe running from her forehead to her the beginning of her tail. Well once you look closely its actually a whole bunch of symbols in a line, looking like cresant moons all jumbled together, all different sizes and some inside of others."
She was getting more and more worried the more she described her friend, but if it meant getting her back it was worth it.
"is that enough detail or do you want more?"
She looks into his eyes then his scythe worried.
Danny only laughed and then got started on his work. He closed his eyes and focused, focused on the description he was given, focused on teleporting her here. He was worried the animal was going to be normal, like one of those animals that look like all the other animals of it's kind, but with this strange girl, he shouldn't have been worried. When he felt he had focused enough, he waved his Scythe and a cloud of light-sucking black smoke gathered on the ground in front of him. He scrunched his face and then the smoke cleared to reveal a fox with the exact description Maylynn had rambled off. When the fox appeared he did not get to see it, as he fell on his back, panting from exhaustion. He was tired, but it paid off.
"Is that your fox?"
Maylynn laughed a little before running to a white fox, sitting looking around. It was the fox that she described.
"Niade!"
The fox perked its ears up looking at her, then jumping up towards the girl. She bends down on her knees, her hair in her face.
Its tail was as long as its body, fluffy and white, fading into black, the black stripe made of crescent moons streaked across her back. The fox licking her cheek and jumping in excitement. It was pure white, just like freshly fallen snow. A little cut on its side, but it was okay.
"How are you do clean? And how are you not hurt? Did you hide?"
She asks the cute fox happily, the last time they saw each other was right before she found her brother. A kid had grabbed her off of the streets. she wished she could talk, but she didn't have that type of powers… she would trade that for tunneling any day.
Niade was her only friend ever since she was little, it never seemed to age, and injuries never really bothered her… she wasnt invincible by any means though. she was a sweet fox, who helped her get out of many nasty situations, and somehow they always ended up with one another once again.
She looks up at Danny gratefully
"okay, we should find a way out now…."
(I'm thinking of dropping this rp. There are only 4 of us on and I don't want it to get too far carried away. Sorry to the few who had been active, but this just isn't working out like I'd want it to. I might do a reboot in the future, but I think I'm scrapping this idea.)
(oh…. okay do what you want it is your RP, although you could reopen it, then just have more active people join, but you do what you want. Although if you do plan on reopening this please @ me so i can join!)
(@ me too please if you ever reopen it)
