"Hmm? Did you say something? I didn't quite catch that."

“Nothing important.”

"Hmm…if you say so." She was still suspicious about what he said but wouldn't pester him about it.

Dorian sat up, wrapping one arm around Fiona, “Fiona? Why don’t you see yourself as beautiful?”

"Because why would I?" She sighed quietly. "I've been raised to see that my sisters are beautiful and that I'm just…plain. I've been raised to believe that anything I like or want to do is abnormal and not beneficial to the family. When the mirror's so fogged up, it's hard to get a good look at yourself."

Dorian sat up, “Fiona what you like is not abnormal, your stories are amazing I know they are. You are amazing, and beautiful and strong and wonderful and I’m going to tell you everyday until you see it yourself.”

She smiled faintly and rested her head on his shoulder. "What did I do to deserve you?"

He shrugged, wrapping his arm around her, “No idea but I know an angel landed right into my life and I am not letting her go anytime soon.”

"More like you put yourself into my life. You were the one who came up to me, after all." She giggled.

Dorian snorted, shaking his head slightly, “Who cares for technicalities these days? They’re so over rated.”

"I care!" She giggled. "Technicalities are important when it comes to writing or else the story doesn't make sense."

“I guess that’s true… and technicalities are important in politics, too.” He sighed, rubbing his face with one hand, “But let’s not talk about that.”

"Less about the outside world, more about the two of us." She smiled a little.

“And what about the two of us, M’lady?” he asked, drawing patterns on her arm.

"Who are we? As people? We barely know each other."

He shrugged, “Well… I’d love to get to know you more, take whatever this is further, if you’re willing to.”

"I'd love that. I want to know more about you."

“There isn’t really anything interesting about me but I’ll try and find something.”

"Oh come on, don't say that. Just start simple. For example, what's your favorite color?"

“Navy blue, or black. If we’re asking questions like that, what’s your favourite animal?”

"I love foxes. I don't know, they remind me of a more wild version of dogs and I love that."

“They’re pretty, too. Elegant and graceful but also with a sense of certainty and power.. kind of like you.”

She blushed lightly and waved him off. "Anyway, favorite food?"

He giggled softly, nuzzling her cheek, “Oh hard one uh… apple pie.”

"Boring!" She laughed. "But even so, if only you'd been here when my mother was still alive, she had the best apple pie recipe."

"Do you still have the recipe? Maybe we could… make it together sometime?" He suggested with a raised brow.

"I'm sure I could find it! My father never threw out anything that my mother had or made including her numerous cookbooks. If I do find it, I'd love to make it with you sometime."

He grinned, kissing her cheek, “Sounds like a wonderful date, my dear.”

She blushed softly, pulling her gaze away from him with a smile.
