"Oi! I do! Surely that should count for something?"
"Oi! I do! Surely that should count for something?"
"Is that so? Then I want to hear them say it. Seeing in believing, after all."
"I'll make 'em say it because it is very true, love."
"A claim with no proof is one that shouldn't be believed."
"You just need to stop denying the truth. Because it is the truth."
"You say that like that's such an easy thing to do."
"I'll prove it to you. Tell you what, I'll hold another party, bring your family and I'll get them to admit it."
Her eyes widened. "You don't mean that. You're kidding." They'll never admit that… they're the ones that caused it…
"Why would I kid about something I strongly agree with?" He raised a brow.
"You mean you're actually going to do it? You realize that they're the ones that put this idea in my head, right? They'll never admit to it."
"I'll make them admit it then," His jaw tightened slightly, "No one put's those thoughts in your head, no one."
"Good luck with that. If you think I'm stubborn, you should see the rest of my family. They'll fight you on this until you crack."
"No, no not on this, Fiona. I'm not going to drop this. They're going to admit it whether I lock them in a cell until they do or not."
"Wait what?!" She suddenly panicked. If he did something that extreme, she'd be the one feeling the heat for the consequences. "No no no, please don't do that, you don't know what'll they do when they get out…"
"Fiona, I was joking," Dorian sighed, resting his forehead against hers, "I would never do that. I'm just saying, I'm going to get them to admit it no matter what, okay?"
Her heart was still pounding in her chest and she was trembling like a leaf in fear. Just the thought of what would happen if he did something like that was enough to send her into a panic attack.
"Woah hey shush, I'm sorry for saying that," Dorian pulled her close, running a hand through her hair gently, "You're okay, I'm here, I'll protect you, you're okay."
"Y-You don't u-understand…w-what they'd do to m-me…" She buried her face in his chest, crying in fear.
"Hey, love, I need you to breathe for me precious," Dorian kissed the top of her head, "Can you do that, please? Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out."
She took a shakey deep breath, trying to break herself from her sudden panic.
"That's it, just like that, and again for me love."
She tried to do it again but her breath got caught in her throat, causing her tears to flow faster.
Dorian kissed the top of her head, "Hey, come on, slowly, yeah? You can do it love, I'm right here, you're going to be okay."
(Good job Dorian, ya made the girl cry and you've known her for less than 24 hours)
She tried again, attempting to keep it slow. Her breathing still hitched every couple seconds but she made her way through it.
(We love an idiot)
"That's it, good job, I'm sorry, you're okay." Dorian ran a hand through her hair, worry creasing his face.
"Y-You don't know…w-what they'd d-do to me…" She hiccuped, still sobbing.
"Shh, it's okay, they can't hurt you here, I'll protect you." He promised.
Will you? She buried her face in his chest, still trying to make herself calm down.
Dorian held her close, wrapping her up in a protective embrace.
She forced herself to go still, using it as something to focus on so she could relax.
