"Wouldn't surprise me," he said, "Though aside from them, how've you been doing?"

“Pretty well,” Aurelius said, “Physically, at least.”

"And mentally?" he asked.

Aurelius chuckled. “It’s been worse.”

Silver frowned, then sighed, shaking his head.

“My mind is just a little cloudy,” Aurelius elaborated, “Don’t worry about it.”

Silver hummed, "You realize it's my job to worry about it, right?"

“Yeah…” Aurelius sighed, “Sorry.”

Silver lightly punched himin the arm, "No need to get down about it!"

“I don’t want to bring you down too,” he admitted, “but I really do appreciate the care.”

Silver smiled at him, "You took the words from me Aurelius."

Aurelius managed a little smile again.
“I hate to say it, but I feel drained. Emotionally. Remembering what happened back there at last, wondering if my friend is going to be okay, constant worry about whether I made the right choice coming here?”

"All understandable…" he said, "if you're worried about being irrational, you're not…" he said reassurringly.

"Heh. I occasionally feel like I could just shut down," he said, "The causes aren't irrational, but my responses feel like a bit much."

Silver hummed, "Not sure what all I could do to help…" he said, "Or if you even need it."

“Not right now,” Aurelius said, “Talking it out does do some good at least.”

"Whelp I'm all ears" he said softly.

“There’s not much specific stuff besides what I already said,” Aurelius sighed, “There’s just this nagging gloom following me around.”

Silver hummed, "I guess alll I can say is look for the bright side."

Aurelius scowled.
“Easy for you to say,” he spat, suddenly feeling very irritated.

Silver blinked at the suddde outburst, looking away.

Aurelius rubbed his face nervously and looked down at his feet.
“S-sorry…” he managed, his voice sounding very brittle.

Silver hummed, "It's alright… I clearly hit a nerve…"

Aurelius nodded, biting his lip. He was shaking a little. He hadn’t meant to come off so aggressively.

"Aurelius?" he asked, "You alright?"

He frowned. “I mean… yeah? I guess? I have problems that I’ve hinted at. Nothing new.”

Silver hummed quietly, still a bit unnerved.

Aurelius crosses his arms, his posture becoming very tense.
“I’m sorry… I’m really sorry…”

"Hey, you didn't do anything wrong…" he said softly.

Aurelius looked back at Silver.
“You sure? I didn’t mean to snap like that.”
