He sat on the bench and drank his water, “Alright everybody up! Doge ball time!” The couch smirked. Everyone got into teams and Nick sighed and got into a team.

Lucas hesitantly joined a team as well, although he knew he probably shouldn't. He held a dodge ball in his hands, seeming a bit disoriented.

Nick on the other hand was having fun knocking down the other team, “Yes!” He laughed, “Team 1 you win now take a ten minute race and whoever wins next round doesn’t have to do gym next week!”

Lucas dropped his dodge ball and went to sit down, holding his head in his hands. He honestly wasn't sure if he could continue like this, but of course he planned to anyways.

He walked over to Lucas, “Hey, hey, hey are you okay?” He asked butting his lip.

"I… I dunno…" Lucas said quietly, his breathing irregular. "The black keeps trying to take over my vision…"

“You need to rest I don’t care what you say we’re going to the nurse,” he said firmly.

Lucas sighed. "Okay… should we tell the teacher we're leaving?" He stood up unsteadily, his face going paler than usual.

He nodded and picked him up bridal style, “Mr.Seewdle we’re going to the nurse! Lucas doesn’t feel to well…” he trailed off as he left the room and headed to the nurses office.

"Oh my god you don't need to carry me." Lucas's face flushed and he hid it in his hands. "…Actually you kind of do but it's… y-you know…" Embarrassing.

“Oh well, deal with it,” he chuckled as he finally reached the nurses, “Now he actually needs medication attention.”

The nurse sighed and came over to Nick. "What happened to him?" Lucas groaned softly and lay his head against Nick more, his consciousness gradually fading.

“He said something about blackness is trying to cover his vision and I think he over exserted himself…” he laid Lucas on bed.

"Lucas, when's the last time you drank something?" The nurse asked gently. "Dunno… couple days ago? Maybe three or four at the most…" He muttered tiredly. The nurse wrote something down, quite worried. "Well, Nick, at the very least I can tell you that Lucas is severely dehydrated."

He shut his eyes, “Alright, does he just need to drink water?”

"He needs water and rest. In addition to the injuries he comes in with, I can't allow him to participate in gym class until he's properly fed and such. He's not in a healthy enough physical condition to be doing the things you guys do in gym." Lucas finally let the darkness take over and passed out, his face still quite pale.

“He didn’t tell me any of this…I’ll bring him home and make sure he drinks and eats…Lucas…” he picked him up and started to walk to his car.

The nurse waved. She sent an email to the gym teacher saying that Lucas and Nick wouldn't be returning. Lucas was still unconscious as Nick carried him, although his breathing was calmer than it normally was when he was awake.

He drove Lucas to Nick’s knowing what would happen if he branch him back to Skye’s house. He took him out the car and laid him down on the couch. He brought a package of waters from the pantry. “You better wake up soon Lucas or I won’t forgive you…”

Lucas stayed unconscious for another half hour. He groaned quietly as he woke up, wincing at the brightness of the lights.

He heard a groan from the couch and ran over to hug him. “Lucas! You’re awake!” He tackled him smiling.

"Hi… yeah…" Lucas winced a bit at Nick's tight grip, but didn't mention it. "W-Why aren't we at school?"

“S-Sorry did I hurt you?” He let go. “Well, you fainted so I brought you back here. The nurse said I could. Here drink some water,” he smiled handing him a bottle.

Lucas sat up and examined the water cautiously before taking a sip. "It's… yeah, it's just water, all right…" He muttered, more to himself than anyone else.

He crouched down in front of Lucas, “Hey…you okay?”

Lucas looked down at Nick, his eyes a little unfocused still. "Yeah… Why wouldn't I be?"

“Hey, calm down…I’m right here I know everything so, there is no need to hide anything. Please, you need to tell me what’s going on with you…please…” his eyes softened as he stroked Lucas’s hair.

"Well, the water thing… there isn't a lot of stuff at my house that isn't alcohol. Our water almost always tastes of beer, although it could just be the smell… w-we don't exactly have much food either." As if on cue, his stomach growled and he crossed his arms over it.

“Come on I made some dinner let’s eat!” He smiled helping him off the couch.

Lucas gently took Nick's hand, one arm still hugging his empty stomach. It had been hurting him from having nothing in it for multiple days.
