"Alright!" he split the food up evenly between the both of them and sat down at one of the plates, "Dig in!"

Lucas took a bite of the eggs. "They're good! Reminds me of the omelettes my mom used to make."

"Thank you!" he smiled almost done eating already.

Lucas took a little longer to eat his food. He tried his best to finish it since he knew he needed it, but it felt strange eating this much after not having a decent meal for so long.

He finished his plate and sat back on his chair, "Man I am stuffed!"

"That's… it's a lot of food." Lucas smiled softly, fidgeting with his fork. "More food than I've had in some time."

"Does your father not feed you?" he looked concerned for his health.

Lucas shrugged. "He… didn't buy much food, honestly. Mostly beer."

"If you ever need food you can come to my place okay?" He put ihs plate in the sink and started to clean up the kitchen.

"Okay." Lucas was quiet for a few seconds. "You're not going to let me go back, are you?"

"No…unless you want to go back which I highly doubt…"

"Well, I… I want to take care of him, you know? Obviously I don't want to be there, but he could get hurt living all on his own…" Lucas looked down at the table, fidgeting with his hands.

Nick placed his hand on Lucas's. "I get it, just come here when you feel hungry or some shit went own okay?"

Lucas nodded. "Speaking of, I really should be getting back… not that he cares, but there's a good chance he was drunk last night."

"Okay…I'll see you at school tomorrow then?" he kissed Lucas's cheek.

"See you at school." Lucas smiled weakly and left.
Lucas arrived at school the next day wearing a hat, which was unusual for him.

Nick was leaning against his locker looking for Lucas. Once he found him in the crowd he pulled him aside and wrapped his hand around his waist. He pecked him on the lips, "Hey cutie…why are you where a hat?"

"My dad was a little disoriented and angry when I got home…" Lucas said softly so only Nick could hear him. He took off the hat for a moment to show wounds from glass that were still bleeding a bit even now. His blonde hair was stained with his own blood around the wounds.

"Let's take you to the nurse so it doesn't get infected," Nick lightly kissed him on the lips and headed for the nurse's office.

Lucas nodded and followed Nick to the nurse. He really didn't want the nurse to know, but he was smart enough to know he needed medical attention.

The nurse looked up, "Oh no…what did you do now?" she wined. "I didn't do anything but my boyfriend here needs medical attention."

"I-I'm okay, really…" Lucas said quietly, taking his hat off. "I… uh… accidentally fell into something glass at my house?" He shrugged, knowing his lies were stupid.

"Come here let me take a look…" he waved her hand for him to sit down in front of her.

Lucas sat down and held his hat in his lap nervously. He knew it would be obvious that it was done intentionally by someone upon closer inspection.

"This may hurt a bit…" Nick took his hand for him to squeeze as she tried to pull the pieces of glass still in his hair.

Lucas gritted his teeth a bit, but hardly reacted at all to the pain. At this point, he was so used to it that it didn't faze him anymore.

"Okay, all the glass is now out and now I'll just press on it to stop the bleeding. After that go in the showers and rinse off the blood." she grabbed a towel and started to press on his head.

"Yes, ma'am." Lucas held the towel to his head for a while before going off to the showers, taking Nick with him.

“Feel a little better?” He kissed his hand.

Lucas shrugged. "Apparently she still wants me to shower, though…" He went into the locker room with Nick.
