(they've hopped to another dimension to free a god to help them get to Lucifer but Pluto accidentally teleported to the wrong place)
(godammit Pluto)
(yeah, and this guy named Kaiser is guiding them through the five levels of the Seams. This is the first one, Uarilon)
He stood up and brushed himself off, still watching her. He had thick blonde hair and fair skin that was lightly dusted with freckles. He was wearing a tunic the color of sand, and was barefoot. A pair of wings, small and covered in baby fluff, were loosely folded against his back. He didn't seem in the least bit afraid.
"Who are you?" He asked. There was a gap where one of his baby teeth had recently fallen out.
Pluto felt a smile tug at the corner of her lips before she stopped herself. She may have a soft spot for kids, but this one could be dangerous. "That's on a need to know basis."
He tilted his head. "Oh. I think I'll call you Moon Girl then. My name's Ollie. Where did you come from? You're the oldest person I've ever seen! I like your wings." He said the last bit with a shy smile.
"What? I'm no 'moon girl.' My name's Pluto. And yes, I'm old. That's not the nicest thing to say to people though," Pluto chuckled
"Oh. I thought you must have come from the moon. But I like Pluto too, it sounds pretty." Ollie circled her, skipping over the mossy ground. "Are you from one of the other islands? I can't fly yet, so I have to stay on this one."
"Um…Sure. I'm from…California island," Pluto said. She lowered her knife, realizing the kid wasn't really a threat. "I hurt my wing, and I crashed here," she said
He frowned in concern. "You're hurt? Can I see?"
(I gotta go to bed early tonight, sorry. Seeya tomorrow)
(Np) Pluto shrugged, moving so she could show him her damaged wing without him seeing the knife. Blood had begun to stain the last layers of bandages, mixing with some black substance
(I'm in class so I'm not technically here but….)
Ollie reached out and touched the wound, very gently. "I can fix this," he said, and his hand started to glow a bright, spring green. He passed his hand over the wound, and in a matter of moments, it began to mend itself. By the time Ollie lowered his hand, even the bloodstains were gone, and Pluto was filled with renewed strength and energy.
"Do you feel better now?" he asked, and yawned, looking suddenly sleepy.
Pluto nodded. "Um, yeah. Thanks."
"Good." Ollie smiled sweetly. "Do you have to go away now? I don't want you to leave."
"Well…" Pluto let the knife in her hands crumble away. She knew she needed to find the others, but she didn't want to make the kid feel bad. "I've gotta find my friends, but I'm a little lost. Maybe you could help me?"
Ollie brightened. "Follow me!" He ran through the trees, leading Pluto to the edge of the island. "If you fly that way, you'll get to the middle," he said, pointing. Far in the distance, there was an extra large island. It seemed to have strange structures on it, curved and white like igloos.
"That's where Mama lives," Ollie explained. "You can ask her for help."
As soon as he said it, the air seemed to change somehow. By mentioning his mother, Ollie had drawn something's attention. It felt like they were being watched, and the silence was even more pronounced than before.
"Um…You see, most people like your Mama don't like me. Do you think there's a way to…Oh, I don't know…get to the next level of this place without seeing her?" Pluto immediately knew that she had made a mistake talking to the kid, but knew that she had probably already been spotted by the ruler of this realm
He stared at you, and his expression shifted, as if he was suddenly less sure of you. "You're trying to hide from Mama?" He took a step backward. "…are you a bad person?"
"No, no, no. See, people don't like my species. I'm the last of my kind, and lots of people want me dead. But I'm not a bad person, I promise. I help people," Pluto insisted
He continued to back away. "If Mama doesn't like you, you might be really bad. You might be–"
And then, suddenly, Kaiser was there beside Pluto. "Finally," he hissed. We have to leave, now."
Ollie took one look at Kaiser and screamed, the sound echoing through the still air. Instantly the wind began to roar, and the sky boiled with storm clouds.
"Hurry!" Kaiser grabbed Pluto's arm and teleported away, leaving Ollie still screaming on the cliff. There was a dark whirl, and Kaiser set them down on an island much farther away. Mike and the others were there, waiting.
"That was very close," Kaiser said. "We're lucky that she was away until now."
Pluto frowned. "Yeah, lucky." She felt a little bad about the kid. She hadn't meant to scare him, but she guessed it was just a side effect of being her. "Let's go."
Kaiser walked over to the center of the island, which had a door standing on it much like the door they'd used to get into Uarilon. Kaiser pulled out the key, unlocked the door, and ushered everyone through, just before the storm reached them.
Once the door was closed, White lights flickered on and illuminated their path. They were standing in a spotless white hallway, which seemed to go off as far as the eye could see. All was quiet.
Once he was sure they were safe, Mike glanced at Pluto. "What happened back there? Are you all right?"
"Ran into a kid. He fixed my wing before freaking out, and then the storm started." Pluto stared down the hallway. It looked almost like the gate room in the Court of the Underworld, but without all the decoration
"You met a young Hapbringer," Kaiser said briskly, starting to walk down the corridor. "They are born in Uarilon, then usually fall to Earth at some point and live there as adults. Lady Ennienwin is their mother and creator. You can understand her determination to keep them safe. Now then, this next level is Onnje, realm of Nattra, goddess of order. She is dangerous in her own way, but we have less to fear from her as she is technically allied with Lord Zhan. She may even offer to assist us."
"Wait, hold on. That kid was one of them? The Hapbringers? I was under the impression that they were monsters or something."
Kaiser snorted darkly. "No, no. Hapbringers are by far the kindest, most compassionate people on this planet. Mike and I–a human and a spirit of negativity–we are scum compared to them. However, their greatest strength is their crippling fault. They cannot see the evil in others, and thus they are taken advantage of by people of lower moral standing."
Mike nodded. "He's right. Hapbringers are good folk, but way too trusting and peaceful. We never deserved them, to be honest."
(brb, gotta have lunch)
(np) Pluto sighed. "Feel kinda bad for scaring the kid."
"I wouldn't worry about it. His mother will probably remove his memories of the incident, overprotective as she is. And at any rate, he was far more frightened of me than of you." Kaiser reached a tall doorway leading into a larger space and turned to walk through it. "This way. We must find ourselves a pass if we are to make it through Onnje without trouble."
"Okay." Pluto walked through the halls. Now that she thought about it, the area around them seemed less like the gate room in the Court and more like the inside of the main building of Michael's parents' company building
