Well… the coefficient in -7x should be -7, and the coefficient of y would be 1, cause, ya know, 1y. I think. Idk, I'm kinda dumb, so.

How to Subtract Polynomials Horizontally

Steps (5x2 – 3x + 4) – (2x2 + 6x – 1)

1. Use the distributive property to change the subtracted polynomial to an added polynomial. =(5x2 – 3x + 4)+( )(2x2 + 6x – 1)=(5x2 – 3x + 4) + (–2x2 – 6x + 1)
2. Solve it like an addition problem. =(5x2 – 2x2) + (–3x – 6x) + (4 + 1)=3x2 – 9x +5

so, the exponents dont fucking show up, but if you see a number, x, and then another number, that second number is an exponent
