"yours if that's alright. I'll let Theo crash at my place." He said, glancing down at her
"yours if that's alright. I'll let Theo crash at my place." He said, glancing down at her
She nodded, looking up at him “My house it is then, this must be pretty serious if Theo is crashing at your place.” Looking around the studio again, she took a small step away from him and dropped her arms from a hug, though she did grab his hand so they could walk back to her place.
He nodded again "yeah," he muttered, following her out of the studio and locking the doors
Once he locked the door she started up to her apartment, glancing around at the city and naming all the places she hadn’t yet been to in her head. She reached the door quickly, unlocking it and pushing it open before motioning that he could go inside first and she would follow.
He nodded in thanks and went inside, sitting on the couch and pulling out his phone to find a picture. He handed Scarlet the phone "our little cousin."
She closed the door after herself and slipped off her shoes before sitting down alongside him, nodding and taking the phone to look at the picture. “Is your brother fighting with them or something?” She asked innocently, glancing over at him as she handed the phone back.
He shook his head "no. Uhm…his…his name is chanceler, he was a great kid. We were all really close with him. We always said that he was a brother to us."
Her eyes widened when she realized he was using the word ‘was’, “Did something happen to him? He’s still alive, right?” She looked to him, concerned and confused.
Jasper shook his head and glanced away from her, feeling pathetic “he died from an infection.” He managed, “we thought it was cured but i guess not..,”
“When did he…you know,” She looked to him before glancing away, fiddling with the hem of her shirt. Scarlett leaned her head against him, wrapping one of her arms around his shoulders and squeezing him in a loose hug.
He breathed In a shaky breath annd leaned into her, wrapping his arms around her "two days ago." He said, finding co.fort in being in her arms
“I’m so sorry,” She whispered, turning towards him more on the couch and pulling him into a tighter and comforting hug. Loosing family members was extremely difficult, especially ones that felt like brothers or sisters, she couldn’t imagine how sad both of the brothers were feeling.
Jasper remaxed into her and burried his face in her shoulder "it's not your fault. You don't have to be sorry." He muttered softly, "I just wish you could've met him. I think you'd end up falling for him more than me,"
She leaned her head against his and sighed, rubbing his back gently, “I think I would’ve fallen for you either way, but I would’ve loved to meet him.” Her arms wrapping around him in a hug tightened almost protectively as she rubbed his back. “If you need a shoulder to cry on, I’m always here, and I won’t ever judge you” She said quietly, pausing before asking the next question just as quietly, “When’s the funeral?”
He cursed himself for being so weak in front of her "I…I'm sorry," he whiped his face and sighed softly "next Friday," he said, "Theo wants to go over the fun real arrangements later on."
“Sorry for what? You haven’t done anything wrong,” She murmured, nodding, “Do you need me to take care of the studio or anything while you and your brother go to the funeral? I can help with anything that needs to be done.”
He shook his head "no, I already told the kids that neither of us will be there. Classes would begin a week after the funeral. He explained, leaning back on the couch and closing his eyes
She nodded again, looking around her apartment as she tried to figure out what to say, “Where is the funeral?” Scarlett wasn’t the best at comforting people with words, she usually just hugged them close and became someone for them to come to if they needed a shoulder to cry on or wanted to rant away the pain.
"in the back woods from his house. He always had this weird facination with snow white so he always would used to go on about if he died, he wanted to be burried in a glass casquette. Kinda gruesome but we'll do as he wishes." He opened his eyes and leaned on her shoulder
“Is it far away?” She asked, leaning her head against his as they talked, “How long will you two be gone?” If she didn’t have school to worry about, she would have asked if he wanted her to come with.
He nodded "we'll be heading to main for a week." He took her hand in his pressed a light kiss to the back of it.
She nodded, her eyes closing with a small sigh, “I’ll make sure nothing happens to either of the studios while you’re gone.” She kissed his head and sighed again.
"thank you, Scar." He nuzzled into her touch and rested his lips on her temple "we should probably see how Lindsey is doing,"
“No problem Jassie, just don’t do anything too stupid while you’re out there” She nodded and rested against him, “Is she going out too? And yes, we should go check on her.”
"sunset when do you know me for doing anything stupid?" He teased, "yeah she's heading out with us."
She rolled her eyes at his first comment, the tiniest smile crossing her face, “Keep her safe and not doing stupid things with you, you or your brother. I don’t want to see you with crutches or a cast when you get back.”
He laughed softly and kissed her cheek "I can't promise anything for Theo or lindsey but I'll be fine." he reasured her,
She nodded, hugging him tightly, “Well, shall we go check in with Lindsey? Maybe I can buy you both some cookies or something.”
He nodded and pulled out his phone to text his cousin
"save us a booth, we'll be down in 5."
Unhooking her arms from around him gently, she pressed a kiss to his cheek and stood up to get her shoes on. She didn’t say anything as she grabbed what she needed and slipped her shoes on, walking back to him and sitting on the edge of the couch.
