History: Parents raised her as though she was going to be the next princess, she was taught all the kingdom's history, too many languages to remember (she only remembered 3 1/2 of them), and most of all, manners. She eventually decided she hated it and left.

Personality: Harsh and bold, sports quite the ego that she backs up with her fists, comes off as cold but deep, deep, deep, deep down she cares about those she comes in contact with. Is more likely to challenge you to a fight to the death then to apologize. Has a hard time accepting authority other then herself. Vain,very vain.
Morality: Chaotic good
Physical appearance: 5'6'', Long reddish blond hair with a slight curl, fair skin, bright blue eye's
Clothes: Usually tight fitting, reds and blacks as long as she looks fabulous she doesn't care.

Abilities: Can channel electricity relatively well but has a strange skill with fire, she can make some physical forms of fire that are solids but also fire, such as different members of the cat family and a fiery Bo staff. She can access a 'pocket demention ' of sorts and store Items there so she doesn't usually need a pack.

History: Clare was born in the upper classes of Craisio, If she asked for training she got it, her parents were thrilled when she showed promise in the magical arts and had her trained in both physical and magical defense. Her parents main priority was making sure she could defend her self after her brother died prematurely of unknown causes. Sick of the smothering atmosphere of home she ran away to make her own in the world.

Other: She uses what she knows to get around most problems on her own, hates asking for help. After her brother died she was rarely allowed out of the house so her social skills are a bit lacking, extremely blunt.
Roleplay sample:
If the stranger hadn’t showed up that is, she would have slept indoors. Scale had been quietly sitting on the floor next to the fire tending to the flames when the stranger walked in. They made quite the entrance coming into the tavern, dripping with rainwater and drying themselves with a flick of their wrist, Magic. The moment shocked the tavern to low murmurs and whispers.
Scale sunk lower into her sitting position against the wall, within moments the uproar of noise that normally filled the shabby building returned the incident forgotten. The stranger made there way to the counter coin slid across the polished wooden surface.

Personality: Cold. Just cold. A biting sarcasm, blunt, yet fair. A good leader in certain regards - she dons a composed, controlled, graceful little mask of perfection. Iris is a terrifying opponent, sly ally, and can be manipulative. She knows what she's doing.
Deep, deep, deep, deep down she has emotions. Cares for people who are close and has empathy for those who feel out of place. A soft spot for those who are alone or out of place. But it's mostly cold.
Morality: Not characteristically evil, but untrustworthy in aspects. Overall on the good side.
Physical appearance: Jet black hair flows down to her waist and creates curtains around her face - forming a physical shield, already intact. Her eyes are a grey/silvery color, and when she's using her powers they transform into pools of metallic silver. Healthy tan complexion and standing at 5'9'', Iris exudes authority, alongside her unfailing cold demeanor.
Clothes: Shoulder-less dress with flowy sleeves, typically a dulled shade of cool colors, paired with vintage medieval high boots. She wears a grey clock around her that drapes down to her calf - successfully hiding her sword.
Weapons: Scythe-looking sword, possessing a 24-inch blade and comfortable handle. Sheathed at her side everywhere she goes.
Skills: Running, quick on her feet.
Magical strength: Her Vaitassien is developed enough that she is leaning toward the element water/ice.
Abilities: Can wield ice; more specifically, freezing. She has the ability to solidify liquids even blood and bring the temperature down. But acting on this power can numb her body after an extended period of time, as well, so she sticks to physical combat when she can.
Languages: Eltin, Medein, Magrifan, Brachish.
History: Growing up in Yrna, she's learned to be cautious and protect herself at all costs. She's learned that people can hurt you with and without physical force. So Iris did what she knew to do - guarded herself. Created a mask of no emotion, of coldness. Delved into and evolved her Vaitassein, taught herself how to handle a blade. She's learned to lock herself away.

"Rookie mistake, coming into these dark alleys."
"Where's your mommy? Oh wait, she's probably off creating another mistake, isn't she?"
Oliver didn't dare to move. Let them tease him. Let them tread him down. He adjusted his weight to his left foot, staggering a step.
"Ooh, he's got a limp."
A sharp glint of steel caught his eye: a dagger. They cornered him.
"We might as well kill you now. It'd be a favor - America won't protect you anyway."
They didn't give him a moment to consider the words before lunging at him.

Personality: She is very happy and positive! Joyful really! She always keeps herself (and hopefully others around her) in good spirits. But it’s a mask. Inside, she feels lost and lonely. She covers it up with jokes, but the most broken people smile the brightest. Only when she lets down her guard a little can you see the pain and sorrow swirling in the depths of her eyes. Only then can you see her smile fade-away. Just a tiny bit, but it always comes back. She always puts her mask back on.
Morality: Arabella is good. Only when she gets really really angry and upset will she become chaotic and that only happened once.

Physical appearance: She is 5’3” and proud of it! She has long wavy red hair the falls to around her waist. (She carries a hairbrush with her to keep those pesky tangled away.) She has electric blue eyes that shimmer in the sunlight.
Clothes: Bella normally wears black leather leggings with a pastel top and combat boots. When it’s cold (so usually) she will wear a leather jacket.

Weapons: A simple dagger made out of diamonds and steel.
Skills: Flexibility. As a child she had to learn to fit into small spaces.
Magical strength: She can do mind control if she focuses super hard. She hates it because she knows what it’s like to be controlled so she rarely uses her power.
Abilities: Mind stuff, like I just said, that’s really all Arabella has.
Languages: Craision and Medien
History: As a young child Arabella struggled with how she looked. She would paint her face and try to make herself look like the other girls. Arabella had a kind mother but her father only wanted power. He used poor Arabella as a test subject for his powers. He told her that it was good for her and it could help look more beautiful.
She didn’t see that she was being controlled until she was 14. She just thought of it as normal. That is when she created her mask of happiness. She had enough at age 16, that’s when she snapped and ran away.

It's a fantasy world and the rp would be based on the continent Medeis. The time periods it's based on range from early medieval to late renaissance but there are also some tribal cultures here and there

As for the magic, all races are capable of doing magic just in different ways but not all people know how to or have the ability to.
Elves and humans have a pool of magic in their minds that they manifest physically and the depth varies.
Angels and lykins are arguably the most powerful as they control the magic around them but it's more concentrated since angels can only do sky magic and lykins can only do earth magic.
Ravens are very unique as they are naturally capable of doing Void magic with relative ease but can't do any other kind.
Phoenixes and dragons can control their internal fire.

The possibilities of magic are virtually infinite as long as one has the knowledge and capacity for it. So it'd be cool to see what everyone comes up with although there are some magic laws that may need to be taken into account.

I think I'll add a magic section to the information document with the basic magic rules. I'll keep things loose so people can have free reign.

The important thing to remember is that magic on Medeis is like a harmful drug and, even if it's used correctly and with care, people can still experience negative side effects. Uh…it's a bit complex which is why I want to expand on it. I'll post it here so people don't have to go back to the document.

(also some abilities are specific to certain magic types that aren't always accessible to all races so some people might need to make adjustments to their magic)

For clothes, how about a simple tunic style shirt (short sleeved and goes halfway to the knees) and leather pants and combat boots? That seems appropriate for that era.

I'll make the proper roleplay thread soon. Since a small number of people have joined so far and everyone's characters look good I think everyone will be joining.

But first I need to sort out the magic thing really quick.

@Emmylove-Is-FINALLY-Done-With-School You said your character is really good at controlling wind and rain. This is fine.

@Relsey It appears your character is strong with elemental magic and fire magic in particular? Given the abilities she has with fire you may want to consider making this her magical affinity as her magic is strong she'll need at least one or even two. This also means the chance to develop an elemental mutation which has both positive and negative effects. I've already covered this in the new magic section of the document which I've added below. The pocket dimension is something more related to Void magic and occurs with 'Void-forged' objects but objects can be enchanted to simulate this 'pocket dimension'. I think, because of her background and abilities, she can do this but would have had to involve enchanting something. It doesn't have to be an object. Just expand on this a little and let me know?

@Trix Your character can control ice magic. It all looks good here and the effects of use are also very good. Still, you may want to read the magic section just in case.

@EllieGrace Because mind magic requires a large amount of magical strength your character can have two magical affinities if you want. I assume one would be the mind control ability.

Just so you don't have to go back to the document here is the information on Vaitassiens, elemental magic and affinities. Everyone's magic all looks good but I'd appreciate if you take a look at this. (sorry about the length)

Vaitassiens
Only present in humans, fairea and elves.
Magic flows and pools into these mental wells. All humans, fairea and elves have one but not all have the ability to use it. Some have ‘dried up’ Vaitassiens which means they don’t have magic at all but this is an incredibly rare disability. Shallow Vaitassiens are a much more common handicap and sometimes means the user can’t use magic at all but this can be remedied through the use of methods like runes and incantations which channels magic from the world around them. Deeper Vaitassiens are less common but the deeper it is, the more powerful one’s abilities are and the more likely they are to have a powerful magical affinity.
When a person uses magic, the level of magic that is stored in their Vaitassien goes down but it will regenerate over time. If too much magic is used at once then it can lead to the depletion of the Vaitassien which results in - from least to most severe - nosebleeds, coughing up blood, internal bleeding and eventually, death.
Copious amounts of magic used over a period of time can lead to mental decay. This decay is known as aurocor and is evident through the narrowing of the pupil (cat eye). The narrower the pupil becomes, the greater the decay. It causes the victim to go mad and become addicted to magic. As using magic makes it worse, when aurocor occurs it’s usually too late. A different form of this corruption can be found in other races but isn’t the same because of the different uses of magic.

Affinities
These only occur in races that have a Vaitassien.
If an individual has an affinity, or more than one, then at least one is usually elemental. Magical affinities give a person ease of use and an instinctive tendency to use the magic.
An individual that has a deep Vaitassien is more likely to have more than one but rarely more than two and those with shallow Vaitassiens never have any affinities for the most part.
Healing is a rare magic and is only found as an affinity. Those with the ability to use healing magic cannot use any other magic and those who do not have an affinity to healing magic cannot use healing magic. These special individuals tend to be emotionally detached by nature.

Elemental magic
The most common form of magic is elemental magic.
Elemental magic is also incredibly flexible and the uses can be nearly endless if the user is skilled and practised enough. Elemental magic usually requires the least training but mastering them can take years. They also cause the least negative effects.
Sometimes, those with an elemental affinity will develop a physical mutation that corresponds with the element but this is rare. Mutations only affect a user slightly and are sometimes not noticeable but there are rare examples where a person is dramatically affected.

Elemental magics and their mutations: (If your character has an elemental affinity I will roll a dice to see whether or not you get a mutation and how severe it is)

Ice (Mutation: body temperature runs unusually low and they are vulnerable to the cold but can withstand high temperatures - overcharging can cause internal freezing)
Water (Mutation: have strong lungs and can hold their breath for unnatural lengths usually coupled with increased stamina - overcharging can cause a buildup of fluid in vital organs)
Earth (Mutation: stronger than usual without training and have slightly tougher skin which means resistance to physical injuries - overcharging can cause crippling joint and muscle stiffness)
Air/wind (Mutation: lighter than their body type suggests and they can fall from greater heights with less injury - overcharging can cause light-headedness and violent nausea)
Electricity (Mutation: able to move faster than usual and they have increased accuracy in general - overcharging can cause unnaturally rapid heart rate)
Plants (Mutation: don't need as much sustenance or the usual nutrients from food - overcharging can cause crippling growing pain-like sensations and weakness)
Fire (Mutation: body temperature runs unusually high and they can't handle the heat but do well in uninhabitable cold climates - overcharging can result in severe overheating)

Alright for the 'pocket demention' thing I think here BO staff would be enchanted so she can slip it in and out of this pocket of space quickly and have it ready for use, it seems practical and also something she would do. Other then that I think that she would have a small bag that she can use to reach this pocket and place other items into it from there , if you've ever read fable haven it would be like the bag they have. Does that sound alright?
