(It's so quiet…. I was gone to a surprise funeral over the weekend, sorry guys.
Zack saw Aidan standing on the sidewalk outside the school, looking like he hadn't slept in years. Zack himself hadn't gotten much sleep, not after having listened in on and talked to Emma.
It was a weird feeling. Somewhere between pity and empathy, with suspicion and.. admiration? The talk with Emma had thrown him for a bit of a loop, and he was having trouble hating her like he had originally thought he would. The story of her brother brought about his realization: She had more of a reason than most to want to help. Still, there was something off about the Illeyitome girl. Zack couldn't put his finger on it.
(Omg, I thought he was like, “Still, he was completely smitten over the Illeyitome girl” and I reread it and was like: ohhh.)
(Not quite. He may be Zavoem, but he has a proud factor that wouldn't let him be enamored like that unless he was completely sure of them. He doesn't run background checks on possible crushes, but he comes close.)
(O-o…)
Ruby regretted sleeping at 2 AM, she should’ve just woken up at 5 AM, and now she had to face the consequences of sleeping 4 hours later than her usually bed time.
Zack jogged across the street to meet up with Aidan, Vix running ahead and circling eagerly around him. Whistling Vix away, Zack slowed and pulled a snack from his satchell, tossing one to her and watching as she caught in her teeth.
"Foxes," Zack said, talking as though he were explaining the pros and cons of a product, "They're patient and independent like cats, yet trainable and useful like dogs."
"Hey, guys, wait up!" Emma ran- well, more like walked quickly- towards the group, when her high heel caught on a large crack and made her lose her balance, teetering just on the edge of falling and standing.
After Ruby did her morning stuff, she called Emma.
Zack ran to stabilize her, offering his shoulder for her to regain her balance. Just as she got a grip on herself, her phone rang out.
"I imagine that's Ruby. Probably on her way here," he said, casting a glance down the road.
(Holy shoot man. I’m a little scared. ._.)
(why?) "Cool, we'll all soon be together now!" Emma smiled. "Where should we get breakfast? I don't know why, but I have a craving right now for the 85°C bakery cafe nearby. What do you guys think? They have amazing boba,"
(Because Zack kNoWs alLLL. Also shouldn’t Emma pick up her phone?)
Aidan shrugged. "I could use some breakfast. Lead the way, Emma."
Zack nodded his agreement. Vix yipped happily.
Emma grabbed her phone, picking the call up. "Hey Ruby? We're meeting at the 85°C bakery cafe nearby, if you're okay with that,"
“Oh. Okay then. I’ll be right there.” Ruby said, picking her backpack. It wasn’t her school backpack though. She hung up and started walking.
(time skip to where we're all at the cafe?)
(sure)
(Puffy Poffy, you changed your pro pic. ._. I like it. :D)
(Would anyone like to start this cafe scene?)
Ruby panted a little when reaching the cafe door. Why did she decide to run to the cafe? She had no stamina. She opened the door and looked around for Emma.
"Hey, over here!" Emma called, waving her colorful strawberry drink in the air. "We got pastries- hope you like red bean and taro!"
“Cheerful as ever.” Ruby said, pulling out a chair and taking a seat.
"So, what's the game plan? Any more news about a possibly budding war?"
