"Who said I'd play?" Kiania asked, pausing her spinning to raise an eyebrow at him in amusement. "Six."

He drew quick marks on the board, filling in K for the first one. "Is there another K?" He paused, realizing he was playing wrong and threw the chalk to her.

She caught the marker, rolling her eyes as she moved Zee to her shoulders and tucked her phone away, before standing. "No. One letter lost." She said, making her way over and writing the alphabet down quickly, marking off k. She drew the head of the stick figure, looking over at him with an eyebrow raised.

Dylan raised an eyebrow. "A, E, I, O…" He trailed off to wait for his results, moving away from the board to give her space to write.

"Yes twice, no, yes twice again, no." Kiania said, writing down what was basically her name minus the n, and adding a few parts to the stick figure.

"That's a lot of vowels." He hesitated to think for a moment. "Kiaia… G? H? L?"

"Nope nope and nope." She grinned, adding onto the stick figure and crossing off the attempted letters/

Dylan bit his lip and narrowed his eyes at the stick figure of himself. "That doesn't look anything like me. Isn't it supposed to? And what about B? Or D?"

"Nope and nope." Kiania said, shaking her head. Zee flicked her tongue out at Dylan, almost looking disappointed, as Kiana added a mask to the stick figure. "There, it's you."

Dylan grinned. "Hardly. I'm significantly more muscular." He scanned the remaining letters. "F, G, H, J, M, N, P…"

"You do realize the more you guess willy-nilly, the more likely you are to lose, right? Were those all guesses?" Kiania raised an eyebrow at him, not showing any indication of any of the letters being right.

"Yep, all of them. I had to get at least one right, didn't I?" He raised both eyebrows back at her, leaning against the wall to watch both her and chalkboard.

"And yet, in that risky ass move, you managed to fail before you could reach the right letter." She said, finishing off the stick figure at the letter just before n.

"Seriously? So what, you aren't going to tell me? And besides, my hair doesn't look like that. It needs more lines. It's nowhere near as handsome as I am." He walked around to stand in front of it, cocking his head slightly at it.

"It's a stick figure, Narcy." She said, rolling her eyes as she moved to doodle flowers around the scientific equations on the white board. "If you guess it, I might tell you if you're right. You've got most of the letters."

He thought for a moment. "Kiania?" He cocked his head at her, deciding not to ask about the flowers. "If that's not it, I'm just calling you Kiki for the rest of your life."

"Bing bing bing, give the man a medal." She said, shooting him a thumbs up before continuing with the flowers, which were growing in detail. "Yeah, it's Kiania. I usually go by Blaze though, for hero and pronunciation purposes."

He nodded. "Pronunciation for sure. And you do light stuff?" He wiggled his fingers around, imitating the kinds of movements he'd seen on TV.

She snorted, shaking her head. "Not the way you're thinking. I manipulate solar energy." She said, not pausing from her flowers.

Dylan raised an eyebrow at her. "That's cool. So it's like magic energy?" He kept watching her, ignoring whatever was happening with Doc and his glove.

"Nope. Like, the literal sun. I absorb the energy and store it wherever," Kiania glanced down at her own body, wrinkling her nose. "And then I can tap into it. If I'm not in direct sunlight, it burns out fairly quick, but direct sun amps up the power."

"So you're basically a plant?" And the real reason she was perfect to fight a shadow loving lizard… Dylan smiled to himself. "You're like the opposite of the lizard."

"I mean, I guess." Zee made a small noise at that, making her presence known once more as she threaded around Kiania's neck and paused to look at Dylan once more. "Opposites attract, right? Zee and I are bros, regardless."

Dylan raised an eyebrow, narrowing his eyes at the lizard. "Huh. I guess Zee's less into destroying things now." He said the name Zee differently, emphasizing a certain distrust for the little thing.

Kiania snorted. "She sure loves to mess with Doc's things though. Kindred spirits." She started on a larger flower, not looking over at him. "Stop giving the lizard the stink eye."

"So you're opposites outside, but have identical personalities." He asked to clarify, ignoring her warning and watching Zee more closely.

"Something like that." She said, eyes flickering over to him, lit up with a mischievous amusement. Zee watched him a moment more, before suddenly growing to twice her original size, which didn't seem to bother Kiania.

Dylan's eyebrows shot up, and one hand flinched towards her. He stood still for a moment, studying the lizard and waiting for her to make the first move.

Kiania snorted, capping the marker and setting it down. She reached up, tapping the spot between Zee's eyes, and the lizard shrunk back down.

Dylan relaxed slightly and leaned back up against the wall. He watched Kiania closely, but his eyes never strayed far from the lizard.
