"Alright. I don't want to break it, though… I've heard they're quite expensive."
"Alright. I don't want to break it, though… I've heard they're quite expensive."
“As long as you don’t total it you don’t have to pay for the whole car to fix a dented bumper.” She shrugged.
Lloyd nodded. "I think those are the main requirements…" He flipped through the packet. "Will wearing a uniform be problematic for my wings?"
“Hm..” she pursed her lips, “They..yeah, it might be.”
"I'm sure we'll figure something out… how do other angels conceal their wings on earth?"
“Um, I…I don’t know, I haven’t met any other angels other than you—At least that I know of.”
"Well, if worst comes to worst, the world has to deal with an angel police officer. Anything else?"
“Not that I can think of right now.” She replied, “Only that you need to get some rest before you start studying again.”
Lloyd sighed quietly. "Fine… I suppose I'm not much of an asset when I'm half dead. Are we back yet?"
“We just got here.” She pulled into their apartment street, “Do you want me to get you an air mattress so you can sleep better? You can pay me back if you want.”
"No, I'll just sleep on the floor tonight. I'll see you tomorrow." Lloyd waved and went up to his apartment.
She stepped out of the car, pressing a button to lock it, “See you tomorrow!” She waved too.

Lloyd woke up the next morning on the floor. He'd forced himself to actually sleep instead of just study, so he felt at least a little better.
Sabina’s ferret, Apollo, was curled up practically in front of his face with his tiny chin resting on his tail. He took in shallow, slow breaths, which made it seem as if he weren’t breathing at all upon first glance.
"Apollo…?" Lloyd sat up and looked at the ferret, confused. "Are you… okay?" He carefully picked up Apollo and tried to figure out whether he was alive or not.
Apollo remained undisturbed, only hanging quite limp in Lloyd’s hands. He wasn’t stiff and his nose was moist and pink, so that was a good sign.
"A-Apollo?" Lloyd was worried now. He knew that Sabina would be very upset if her ferret died. What can I do? Lloyd gently scratched Apollo's head to see if he would react.
A minute or so later, Apollo blinked open his eyes drowsily and glanced at Lloyd with a very content—yet confused—expression.
Lloyd breathed a sigh of relief. He's not dead… He sat back on the floor, still holding the ferret. "If you're here… then where's Sabina?"
A very rattled Sabina knocked a bit too loudly on his door, “Lloyd!! Are you awake? Is Apollo in there??”
Lloyd was startled by the sudden noise, but answered the door with Apollo still in one hand.
When she saw Apollo she exhaled a great sigh of relief, “Oh good, thank you, so much!” She reached to take him, “He must have slipped out of my pocket last night.”
"He was just laying on the floor… I thought he was dead at first, honestly, but he seems to be fine."
“Ohh” she cradled him in her arms, “He does this thing called a ‘dead sleep’ because he’s so active he sleeps so soundly that nothing can wake him. As long as he’s not stiff, drooling, or moaning, he’s fine.” She pet Apollo’s cheek.
"Huh… I suppose that makes sense." He held out one hand for the ferret to sniff before gently petting him.
The ferret closed his eyes again to happily accept the affection.
“Hah, he must really like you…I don’t blame him.” She added the latter a second later, and quieter.
"Hmm?" Lloyd glanced up at Sabina. "Well, I'm not exactly sure why he likes me… I'm not particularly special."
“Hah, you just must have a pleasant energy around you, then. He seems to prefer being held by ‘chill’ people.”
Lloyd watched the ferret curiously. "I suppose so… I try to be relatively relaxed."
“Either way, he likes you. Thank you so much for finding him by the way.” She leaned down to kiss Apollo’s head.
