Jackson shook his head, "I don't think you understand…" He gave the signal for his men to start firing the cannons. As the crew fired the cannons Jackson got over to the other ship. "We can do this friendly or harshly…"
Jackson shook his head, "I don't think you understand…" He gave the signal for his men to start firing the cannons. As the crew fired the cannons Jackson got over to the other ship. "We can do this friendly or harshly…"
The captain motioned for his crew to do the same and she could hear the blasts from both ships, jumping slightly from the noise.
"Let's do this the harsh way then." He said, sword out and ready along with the signal for the crew to attack.
Jackson laughed, "Your very stubborn to do so…" Jackson hopped back onto his ship trying to avoid the cannonballs. Others that weren't firing cannons hopped on the other ship, began attacking.
The captain flicked his hand again and his crew started attacking, all except Regina that is. She was still hidden below decks, jumping every time she heard a cannonball hit the ship and hoping the fight was done quickly. Their ship wasn't in great condition in the first place, and with another fight, she reminded herself that this may be the last battle this ship could handle without sinking.
Jackson noticed the other's ships poor condition. He had hoped that they would surrender before they sank. Jackson then went back to the deck of the other ship and searched for the other captain. "Silly captain you are."Jackson smirked to himself.
"Not silly, but stubborn," The captain responded, joining the fight with a scowl and a hope they would survive. Regina jumped again as she heard a cannon fire and she dropped her sword, causing her to head back into the bottom of the ship to get it, worrying she was going to get hit by a cannonball if she didn't move fast enough.
Jackson soon fought with th captain, hoping he would surrender soon. Their ship was two cannonballs away from sinking. He signaled his men to dry fire the cannons, making it seem like the other ship was getting shot at. "You have two cannonballs to go through your ship before you sink. Surrender or sink." Jackson warned the other captain.
Regina grabbed her sword and dashed back up to the deck of the ship just in time to hear the captain growl, "We surrender." and drop his sword. The sight almost made her gasp, the captain never surrendered to anyone and now she worried about what was going to happen to her and the other crew members.
"Good." Jackson said, right before looking at the girl. "Who's the girl?" He wanted an answers, not only was she different but she was admittedly cute. "I'll make a deal with you."
The captain spun on his heel to see who the other captain was talking about, "Nia?" He asked, "She's a crewmember." He glared at her, noticing she wasn't injured and guessing correctly that she hadn't fought and Regina's eyes flicked to the deck to avoid his gaze.
"You want to make a deal?" Jackson asked the other captain. His eyes flicked over to the girl, giving her a once over.
"What's the deal?" He asked, almost growling as he turned his attention back to the captain. He didn't want to loose his ship, but depending on what he wanted, he would gladly let his ship sink.
Regina looked up when she decided the captain wasn't looking at her and she glanced between the two of them, brushing a few strands of reddish brown hair in front of her face to try to hide herself.
"I'll trade you some of my men for yours. I need some new crew members and i'll take the girl." Jackson started, "If you go through this deal, we won't attack you. and I'll get your ship repaired."
The captain thought for a moment, his eyes searching over the crewmates who where still alive and standing, "Done. But I will choose what crew of my ship you can trade for your crew members."
"Okay." Jackson shrugged, ready to have who ever the other captain wanted be traded. Mostly he wanted to help the girl get less scared of battle.
He jabbed his finger towards several of the less useful members, "Them three and Nia, in exchange for which of your crew members."
Regina glanced at the three members he pointed at, two boys who were just older than her and another quite older member as well.
Jackson gave the other captain four of his better men, considering that probably the other captains men that were the best had been injured. "If you go to Clear Rock Isle and find Ashton, tell him I sent you. He'll fix your ship up."
The captain was silent for a moment before nodding, "And if he doesn't?" the captain asked, motioning for the crew members he chose to leave the ship.
"I'll make sure he does….I mean I have his only son so…" Jackson stated looking at the so called 'Nia'.
"Deal." He glared at Regina and the three other crewmates before spinning on his heel again and marching towards the ship's wheel, "Now, get off of my ship, and take your new crewmates with you." With that, Regina glanced at the other crew members and started making her way towards the new ship.
Jackson left the other ship, trying to come up with a plan for the girl. She need training, just like the three others. Jackson wanted to be tough on her but not too much. Not wanting to overwhelm them he waited for their next stop.
They followed him onto his ship and soon Regina took up a spot near the side of the ship, watching the three others who had came with her start to talk and mingle with the other crew members. Her sword was still in her hand and she set it against the side of the ship her head spinning from what had just happened. She had just been traded for better crew and a repair for their ship, which had shocked her into silence.
Jackson noticed her, "You good? Sorry, I'm Jackson." That was the first time he said his first name aloud. Usually his crew called him Captain Windsor. He watched the other ship go to Clear Rock Isle, as he talked to the Girl, "If you need anything just let me know. I'm pretty easy to find."
"Hm? I'm fine," She replied, her voice softer than normal as she looked up at her new captain and nodded, "I will, I'm Regina by the way."
"Thought it was Nia?"He asked looking at her, studying the girl.
"That's my nickname…the captain gave it to me after he refused to say my full name, so now I'm Nia, and Regina." She looked down to the deck as she talked, then out at the water where she watched the only ship she had ever known sail away.
"Your family here just so you know." Jackson let her know before heading off to the captains quarters.
Regina nodded and watched him walk off, going back to her silence once again. The medical supplies she had grabbed before were still with her and she took out a roll of cloth that was used for bandages, holding it in her hand as she turned to look at the crew.
Jackson started planning for their next stop, and when to get the others trained.
Eventually, she started wandering around the ship, picking up the sword and carrying it with her as she walked.
